Shelley gets the win over a none fighter with the none fighter landing a couple as well. Dominance by Shelley but with little landing. This doesn't deserve anything over a 6 as a lot of missing was going on.

Have to give it to Shelley against a guy who doesn't fight up to his size. Shelley sure took some damage though. Was that the same Shelley that played for Columbus and used to run from Hordichump?

Yonkman cuts shelley early but for some reason he wasn,t as active after that,camera man doesn,t show the damage on shelley after the fight,calling it a draw.

Shelley was the busier fighter, but because Yonkman caused the damage he did, I called it a draw. Shelley did have the fight left in him though when Yonkman was down and vulnerable, so I can't argue with anybody calling it a win for Shelley...

I have to go draw here just because Shelley had to get SIXTY stitches because of this fight. I'm sorry, but you can't call Yonkman a loser when he inflicts that much damage with the few big shots he landed.

Good fight! I call this one a draw, shelley landed 2 good shots the rest of them were landing on the back of yonkman's helmut or his shoulder pads. Yonkman landed the best punch of the fight exploding shelley's face and cutting him for 60 stiches. I guess to win a fight on this site you have to throw wild punches that don't land, and end up on top at the end of the fight.

I had high hopes for Yonkman when he broke into the league with the Caps. Very large man, but made out of glass (constantly injured) and didn't utilize his size. Shelley schooled him here...

Initially, it seems like Shelley is slightly leery of Yonkman, probably due to the latter's sheer size. But once ''the Yonk'' lands a couple of powder puff, jersey jabs Shelley quickly establishes that he poses no real threat, and proceeds to drop all signs of defence, as he goes to town on him. It's starting to look like ''Frankenshelley'' is really back.

Yonkman had no interest in fighting after the one punch that sent him off-balance, and it was clear once he went down a second time that he wanted nothing more than the fight to be over. Once Shelley landed the big right, Yonkman was turning away while throwing blindly, and made absolutely no effort to get back up once the final punch caused him to fall. Shelley's big right and aggressive finish made Yonkman give up, and because of this, Shelley is the clear winner.

Yonkman use to be a Milwaukee Admiral and I go to about 10 games a year and follow them closely. I think he sucks glad Mil got rid of him even tho he was wearing the C. Only thing he was good at was sticking up for his teammates and killed everyone he faught. Killed Clayton Stoner one time in the playoffs when stoner was on Huston.

Shelley with the win despite the punch that turned his face into a gusher. Nolan Yonkman is no rookie; he's been bouncing around in the minors for ten years. The new student learns from one of the professors... Don't know much about Yonkman, Has the size and looks like he can throw but has to toughen up the chin a little. You can tell he was in trouble to how he reacted on the first jersey jab . To his credit, he did get one in on Shelley. Win Jody. Will give it a 7.

Yonkers doing his Tex Cobb immitation takes huges bombs from Shelley but hangs in and represents well. Easy win Shelley, no shame Yonkers More importantly he played a heck of a game stepping in Jovo's spot as the NHL's hottest team continue their surge towards the playoffs.

Nice work by Shelley to overcome a huge reach disadvantage. First with the j-jabs, then with some punishing rights. I'm sure Yonkman could do better, but tonight he belonged on a basketball court...

it was totally about time that Shelley decided to come on out and slowly start working his way back to his old self. its so sad that alot of hockey games now a days are more like the icecapades. I appreciate a good fight and alot of physicalness hence why its a physical sport. I think Shelley took this one all the way. he might have had to get stiches but he never gave up and gave it to Yonk who.....

Yonk got konked. He got a couple in early, but once Shelley got it going and tagged him good, Yonk didn't want any part of it. Credit for staying up, but his head being in a different zip code than his body says he was looking for the exit. Hard to blame him. Shelley is underrated, IMO.

Shelley with the win but took 60 stitches after the fight, watching it live and it was a nasty cut on the one shot Yonkman got in. Tough to say a win after 60 stitches but Shelley hasn't won many this year so give him the victory because he pounded on Yonkman most of the fight.

Yonk picked out a tough opponent for his first real major league tilt. Showed up well, but despite the cuts Shelley was the winner.

Going into this, most of us knew The Shell has been getting shelled quite a bit this year and doesn't fight defensive, so he's getting slit opened in the same spot above the nose. Yonkman was bound to score here and busted open a jar of Ragu on Shell's lid. That didn't stop the wiley brazen vet. The yonk got tuned up in the end, and was rocked with rights to the side of his head. He only had a few dents the next day while Shell had 60 stitches to close up his brains. You can't seem to hurt Shell. And you better keep firing or he'll pay you back 10 fold like he did here. Win Shell

As Coyote fan I still have to give it to Shelley, Yonkman got in a couple but Shelley dominated. Experience and desire paid off. If and when Yonkman realizes if you're going to fight, you have to engage. Shelley has been on the wrong end too often since McGratton destroyed him. Good to see the "Vet" came back. Hope he is back soon from the 60 stiches.

Wow. Good effort by Yonkman to try to come back after getting thunderstruck early but he was totally owned.

Shelley takes a quick pop to the face, but doesn't really seem to care, as he clearly handles the tempo of the fight. About half way through Yonkman totally gives up and tries to keep his face as far away from Shelley's fist as possible. Clear win to Shelley, but Yonkman gets a little bit of credit for the one good shot he got in.

Shelley is resurgent, he tenatively approaches the larger Yonkman, who is eager to earn an NHL paycheck again. Yonkman is a minor league vet with many fights under his belt, he even spent some time with the Caps. Shelley looks as good as he has in a year.

Props to Shelley.....he's looked washed up at times this year but has come alive of late...in this one he got off first, took advantage of the kid's tentativeness and pulverized Yonkers. Credit the rookie though with landing a bomb on Jody's beak and bloodying the vet......GOOD TILT LADS !!!

Pretty good scrap .. gave it an 8> Yonkman is a big boy and landed one good one that cut Shelley who seems to be a bleeder. The old veteran managed to land plenty of haymakers and the big guy didn't like it too much. Goot give him props for not folding right away because that first one was a good one!

Shelley is an offensive fighter for the most part he gets tagged in all his bouts but doesn't seem to care much. Win for Shelley as he takes on the bigger man in Yonkman. More quality punches by Shelley even with a busted open face.

Shelley seems rejuvenated this season with some good wins (like a good solid win over Shawn Thornton earlier this year); took a solid right that opened him up, but delivered much more fire power than Yonk....Shelley with the victory here.

Not sure how Shelley gets all the kudos here. I heard two days later that Shelley needed 16 stitches for his effort, which to me means Yonkman wins. Considering the beating Engelland gave Shelley in October, somebody should ask him if he's taking Coumadin.

Difficult fight to judge. You have to look at it several times to see who landed what. At first glance it was all Shelley, but I don't think he landed anything other than helmet or shoulder shots while Yonkman obviously landed some extremely damaging blows. I would rather have been the loser in this fight, suffering only a cracked helmet instead of a cracked face.

Skated like hell off the ice, W Yonkman no stitches needed for the big fellow although he bowed out at the end.

Depending on what you consider a win. Is it a win if you leave the game and head to the lockeroom because your bleeding like a "stuck pig" from a punch?
