Not much there. Gotta stand up to fight.

Looked like a catfight. Draw. But more importantly, who threw the blind pass across the zone to the fighters? I mean, the guy has already dropped his gloves and you throw him a pass? Across your own zone...

SUTTON STARTED OUT STRONG WITH FEW RIGHTS KNOCKED VOLPATTI HELMET OFF VALPATTI THEN CAME WITH A FEW RIGHTS OF HIS OWN KNOCKED SUTTONS HELMET OFF SO IT WAS A DRAW IN MY BOOK THEY BOTH FELL TO THE ICE TOGETHER

Posted by griffmac20 on October 16, 2011 at 06:24 PM

Good fight. Very quick. Both threw a lot of powerful punches. Good old time fight!

Andy Sutton has the size of Stu Grimson...but the heart of Cal Clutterbuck.

Posted by pepsigenerate on October 16, 2011 at 09:56 AM

Volpatti connects with one good one but not shown on replay,(I was there)The huge Andy Sutton gets dropped......Winner Volpatti.

Posted by dpappas1 on November 27, 2011 at 02:20 PM

Thank God that Volpatti contracted the FBS virus (Everybody beats Sutton) or he woulda been 0 fer 5.

Sutton is much like a poor man's Hal Gill, or a modern day version of Gilles Lupien (for those of you who enjoy obscure 80's Hab references)... i.e. behemoths with no punching power, and even less technique. Sutton with the yank-down... followed by... Volpatti with the knock-down, and a nice hit to set things off.

As big, mean and intimidating as Sutton seems to be, I've never really considered him that great of a fighter. And considering this loss to the smaller, spunkier Volpatti, it seems I was correct in my aforementioned assessment.

Posted by tim13 on October 18, 2011 at 09:13 AM

From what I've seen from Volpatti so far this season, he looks to have some serious power.

Posted by staceyb on October 16, 2011 at 07:10 AM

Volpatti landed one right on the button that quickly dispatched big boy Sutton.

Posted by rocky 1 on October 16, 2011 at 12:30 PM

Sutton sticks up for himself but takes the worst in this tilt. This Volpatti can really fight for a smaller guy, only listed at 185 lbs.

Posted by kimo_coyote on October 16, 2011 at 01:42 PM

At least a guy fight his on fight on a check he didn't like.

Posted by The Mob on October 17, 2011 at 09:10 PM

Sutton is the poorest excuse for a fighter given his size in the NHL next to Hal Gill. Boo Sutton !!!!!

Posted by fernben8 on October 17, 2011 at 02:51 PM

Sutton got off to a decent start but Volpatti sneaks a crisp one in to send Andy down, The second time looked like a slip or a pull down...

Posted by gongermuskegon on October 16, 2011 at 06:39 PM

patticakes can throw, sutton is one tall tree. edge Volpatti and a 5

Posted by BOLT862 on October 16, 2011 at 12:17 PM

Sutton got early start, Hamburger Patti landed one punch to his jaw taking his legs out. Win Patti-cake.

Posted by Westcoast_Goon on October 16, 2011 at 06:35 PM

Boom. Volpatti landed a beauty or 2 right on Sutton's kisser. Big tree fall hard. Win Volpatti.

Posted by DARCY T on October 16, 2011 at 06:53 AM

right on the chin,win volpatti

Posted by Shoeman72 on October 16, 2011 at 04:04 AM

I hate Lee as a HNIC play by play man. "Rag doll's Volpatti" isn't even close to what was happening. Good tilt and call it a draw

Posted by bruins rule on October 16, 2011 at 08:06 AM

aaron gets the win in this fight.

Posted by jdawdy0 on October 16, 2011 at 02:24 AM

Love how the pass was going to Sutton as he dropped the gloves. Win to Volpatti for 2 knockdowns to Sutton's 1.

Posted by FistofFury on October 16, 2011 at 10:11 AM

Sutton pulled the chute and came in for a nice soft landing

Posted by riffraff on October 16, 2011 at 12:58 PM

sutton gets off early but hits the front/top of V's lid. then bang its on sutton's button and timber ...... third embarrassment of the night. 1st embarrassment being hoRIdchuck running his mouth off to the papers about what he was going to do in tonights game vs the nucks. 2nd embarrassment being same plug lasting 12 seconds of the game after attemptting a hit on ballard only to do his spin and fall routine and leave the game with a lower body injury - giving the coilers more of a chance to win. whata joke.

Posted by Santokh_Gill on October 16, 2011 at 03:59 AM

NNNNNNNNo Comment..... P.S...someone bring Laraque back ..

Posted by hughcares on October 16, 2011 at 09:26 AM

I wonder if Sutton was asking for his mommy when he was curled up in the fetal position. I am surprised the pylon keeps getting a job.

Posted by Spinner55 on October 16, 2011 at 10:47 AM

Volpatti.

Bad start but good finish for Volpatti

Posted by canuckluck on October 16, 2011 at 07:41 PM

looks like Volpatti is doing a good job of replacing Tanner Glass's toughness on that 4th line. good win over a bigger opponent

Posted by FightsOfHockey on October 16, 2011 at 01:54 AM

Sutton drops Volpatti, Volpatti then drops sutton twice therfore i have to give it to Volpatti

Posted by Turbsy9 on October 16, 2011 at 06:04 PM

Aaron Volpatti 6'1" 185 pounds Andy Sutton 6'6" 240 pounds

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on October 20, 2011 at 06:17 PM

Wow. I wasn't expecting that out of Volpatti. That's 2 big guys in a row that he's dropped. Sutton used his 50 pounds of weight advantage to drag Volpatti to the ice but once Volpatti got loose he tagged Sutton twice and dropped him twice. I do worry about how open he fights, especially with his lack of size, but so far so good. This will be a good rivalry for years to come between these two teams. Edmonton is going to have a great young team in the very near future. They've got more young talent on one line than what Calagary has had in the last 15 years. Battle of Alberta has been dead for 20 years and unless the Flamers get rid of some of their over priced geriatrics, then it will continue to be. I guess it's more a battle of the Rockies now. Oh well, Edmonton's been the laughing stock for the last 5 years so I guess it's Calgary's turn for the next......25 or so!

AV will be one of the most talked about newcomers on this site by the end of the year.

Posted by odjick54fightin on October 16, 2011 at 12:22 PM

winner Volpatti , another big guy down Volpatti 2-2 against 6'5" enforcers

Posted by Bloodbank on October 16, 2011 at 01:33 AM

Volpatti keeps rolling on. Down early then drops Sutton not once, but twice.

Posted by Macktownknights on October 29, 2011 at 02:56 AM

Good Fight, Both players landed good punches, volpatti gets the win for better connections and putting sutton down twice

Posted by claire alexande on October 18, 2011 at 01:19 AM

Draw I can just hear Kebbin Bieksa: "So, Anton, you wanna be known as a tough guy? Just follow my formula--fight guys who are bad at fighting. Why, after I demolished that thug Stalberg, the Nuck sac-lickers were falling over themselves praising me as the next coming of Harold Snepsts!" Volpatti: "Gee, thanks Keb. Didn't Rypien follow that strategy as well--beating the snot out of guys like Gill? Sounds like a plan, my man. Whattyasay we go chase chicks down on East Hastings?"

Posted by steveo1313 on October 16, 2011 at 03:59 AM

Both landed a couple solid shots..draw at the end of the day

Posted by CloweStaubi on October 16, 2011 at 01:33 PM

Posted by chad420 on October 20, 2011 at 01:52 PM

thats another W for Peppermint Patty...this is one weird(and weak) season of fights so far...

Posted by flanagon on October 17, 2011 at 12:10 AM

Sutton was a disappointment in Anaheim and is going to continue being a disappointment for the Oilers

Posted by kkdowning on October 16, 2011 at 04:24 PM

Sutton doesn't live up to expectations (same as his game), win Volpatti

Posted by JeanLaValette on October 16, 2011 at 03:17 AM

Volpatti shocks Sutton for the win

Posted by natenuck on November 04, 2011 at 12:57 PM

volpatti stepped up to a giant, and the giant came tumbling down
