Seeing these two fights bring a couple of things to mind. One, Edmonton management should get some beef and stop the nonsense of putting Hordichuk in this type of situation. Second, I lost a little respect for Kassian for the fist pump nonsense. Go to the box jackass, you know he couldn't hang with you physically so shy act like you are great for beating him.

Even someone as ''ever-game'' as Hordichuk, can't overcome such a lopsided size difference.

Posted by filthynumber1 on December 31, 2011 at 12:43 PM

Win Kassian. but i cant beleive no one mentioned that hordichuks hand/arm got caught up in his elbow pad and redenderd that hand useless which pretty much made it open season on him....didnt matter tho rematch went the same way

knock down Kass....props to hordi. @Muskokadangler: storied rep of tuff? oilers last "heavy" was stortini lol. wtf?

I'm a Wild fan and Hordichuk never backs down. he fought boogy and a lot more of the Wild enforcers the year we had todd fedoruk, chris simon and boogie in the same lineup, but Kassian got the best of him this game.

Kassian the Goliath in this rink had no problem with the bravest man in the rink. Kasio and a 5

i wonder what would have happened if hordichuk's right wouldnt got caught in his sleeve when he started to pound on kassian's back of kassian...6

Haven't seen Hordi get beaten that decisively in a long time. TKO for Kassian.

im not a horty fan,but man i was sore just thinkin about going with matt.

First thought that came to mind was this guy Kassian should be skating for Buffalo. They could really use him and the other Kassian for road games to Boston. I see Gus and Ralph from "Groundhog Day" were at the game (0:35).

Oops, Hordichuk not fairing very well in either bout with this big heavy!

Posted by Joceron on December 31, 2011 at 10:00 PM

Darcy lucky to get out of there alive! Kassain and a 6

Posted by bruins rule on December 30, 2011 at 09:22 PM

kassian gets the win.

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on December 29, 2011 at 11:02 PM

he got a kasskicking

Posted by slavv on December 30, 2011 at 05:45 PM

Kassian fought quite a bit in the minors and established himself as a very good fighter. He showed that against the overwhelmed Hordichuk...

Posted by GreatMurray on December 30, 2011 at 07:35 AM

Hordichuk will fight anyone. I will never forget he and Brashear looking for one of his contacts on the ice and then resuming their fight later. He is my size (6'1" 210 or so.). He rarely fights anyone his size. He usually wins the even match ups. Once in awhile he takes it to a big guy as well. This WASN'T one of those times. Hordy got smoked.

Posted by FightsOfHockey on December 29, 2011 at 10:46 PM

wow Kassian dominates him

Posted by raymi2 on December 30, 2011 at 05:37 AM

Two knockdown , i don't call this courage like commentators said, i call this desperation and stupidity. Come on, go take on smaller guys!

Posted by luckyfoot15 on December 30, 2011 at 10:03 PM

Kassian winds.

Posted by The DZA on December 30, 2011 at 11:04 AM

Im glad the guys at 0:35 found the time to stop having sex with their sisters and attend a hockey game.

Posted by tyrone on December 30, 2011 at 12:02 PM

The Wild need to keep Kassian up. Staubitz cannot do it alone. Wild would win many more games if they had toughness. Hordisuck got schooled big time.

Posted by scorp1on on December 30, 2011 at 09:17 AM

All Kassian. Glass bottles allowed rinkside in MN. What trustworthy fans!

Posted by jbaker3924 on December 29, 2011 at 10:52 PM

KO Kassian.

Posted by Haleskii on December 29, 2011 at 10:51 PM

Kassian puts Hordichuk down. Clear, convincing question.

Posted by sedinfan on December 30, 2011 at 12:05 AM

Well that didn't go very well, did it Darcy. Now I am going to watch round two, which looks like it didn't go well either.

Posted by Double Nickels on December 31, 2011 at 06:08 AM

There was some teleporting in that one--and maybe some blacking out too

Posted by mmadced on December 30, 2011 at 09:37 PM

Kass all the way.. lucic and kass fought twice in 2006 WHL looch won both fights,, check it..looch haters and tell me he can't fight guys bigger than him. hmmmmmmm.

Posted by ISYSpanther on December 29, 2011 at 10:49 PM

Matt Kassian, hands down. Looks like Hordichuk got 3 shots in, all to the back of the head. Face-to-face, Kassian just dismantled Hordichuk. Not a close fight. Not domination, and not kind of close. If Hordichuk could have remained behind Kassian, Hordichuk would have won. But it is not much of a win to fight someone's back and not fight the area that can hit you back.

win kass over my man hordichuk

Posted by Willy WILL on December 31, 2011 at 11:58 AM

1st bad choice of the night.... Should of been his last bad choice... Win Kassian...

Posted by SilverSliver on December 30, 2011 at 10:56 AM

LOL, Hordi does a good job against Staubitz, but when the big gun is called up he best just mind his P's and Q's

Posted by benny on December 29, 2011 at 11:17 PM

About time the wild call Kassian up! Destroyed Hordy!

What a idiot KASSIAN is ......won the fight , but i dont like what he did after the fight .

Posted by Oil Can Henry on December 29, 2011 at 11:55 PM

...Kassian didn't hit him with much,...just over-powered him,...

Posted by thebigbea55 on December 30, 2011 at 02:34 AM

when u are that big and with that reach advantage, you are expect to win the fight..

Posted by bolton510 on January 04, 2012 at 05:58 PM

Kassian got turned around for a second, but righted himself quickly and continued the beat down!

Kassian dominated Hordichuk in this one. Hordichuk has a reputation as a tough guy but he Kassian was just too big and too strong.

Posted by chad420 on December 30, 2011 at 01:31 PM

Allday Kassian

Posted by muskokadangler on December 29, 2011 at 11:21 PM

That was a domination and what is the storied tuff rep of the Oilers doing with Hordy as their Heavy anyway....... And far to much celebration in a fight with such a size difference

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on December 30, 2011 at 02:22 AM

Win Kass

Posted by kkdowning on December 30, 2011 at 09:35 AM

Poor Darcy, his toughness can't overcome genetics.

Posted by puckstopper30 on December 29, 2011 at 11:53 PM

I like Darcy Hordichuk, but he got beat up.
