Awesome! BigBadBruin22 is right about the B's toughness - and not a goon in the lineup. Even Thornton has developed into a decent fourth liner during his time in Boston. Quite an impressive display by Seidenberg here. I'm a Rangers fan, and have nothing but respect for the B's (except for the cheap head shot on McDonough by Lucic-an isolated incident I assume). They should be a model of how to keep toughness in the game, and goonery out.

Colby gets plastic surgery on his already ugly beak in a beatdown from one of the non fighting Bruins. Looks good on him.

Posted by mudman55 on March 07, 2012 at 07:46 AM

Armstrong would have gone with Darth, and was ready to. I don't think anybody expected Seidenberg to step up for himself like that. Good on him, and good on Armstrong for going as well. Sometimes it can be harder to go against a non-fighter cuz you don't know what he's gonna do. Seidenberg tied him up and neutralized his right arm, and pounded Armstrong while hugging him, which is not the "textbook" style. I also think Armstrong wasn't ready for Seidenberg's grab- he was facing McQ at the time. Either way, Seids laid a beatdown on him. "Typical Boston, two on one". Dude, there's a reason your posts end up on page 4. Call it for what it is. Seidenberg, non-fighter. McQ, sticking up for a non-fighting teammate. Seids said, "I got it". And someone else said "Armstrong was looking for a power play". Pretty sure that wasn't on his mind at the time. Why do so many of you people (many B's fans included) struggle with objectivity? I'm a Bruins fan, and I noted that Thornton lost to Rosehill! *gasp*! How dare I!

Armstrong trying to stick up for himself gets raped hard. Brutal. But Armie can handle it. He shouldnt have dropped them but he came looking for a power play and the Leafs got one.

Posted by classic4 on March 07, 2012 at 11:53 AM

Armstrong might have done better going nose on nose with Marchand. Beaks about the same size.

Posted by eighty2 on March 06, 2012 at 10:15 PM

Seriously, who voted for Armstrong, or even called this a draw? You should lose your voting privileges for two weeks. Armstrong didn't even throw a punch. If this wasn't a 100% win for the German, show me what is.

Posted by OriginalSix on June 30, 2012 at 02:32 PM

Clear WIN for Seidenburg. Think this was payback for the hit on Armstrong the previous season.

Posted by rocky 1 on March 09, 2012 at 12:00 AM

Easy to score this one as Seidenberg never lets Colby get started.

Posted by homeland on March 07, 2012 at 08:46 AM

Seidenberg gave him a old fashion whippin

Posted by DARCY T on March 08, 2012 at 03:18 PM

what was armstrong doing.losing to guy like seidenberg just like that??? lol at that guy next to mcquaid in penalty box.i picture many posters here look like him

Posted by staceyb on March 07, 2012 at 06:41 AM

Armstrong made Seidenberg look like John Ferguson.

Posted by kinga101 on March 20, 2012 at 08:38 PM

It's going to be tough to live this one down for Armstrong - losing to ??Seidenberg??

Posted by GreatMurray on March 06, 2012 at 09:22 PM

Who'd a thunk it. Dennis might be the Menace as he puts a serious pounding on Colby!

Posted by Kordic64 on March 06, 2012 at 10:00 PM

Not the greatest of beat downs but a beat down none the less.

Posted by workthejab on March 15, 2012 at 11:46 AM

I guess when you watch your teammates get into 50+ fights every season, you eventually learn a thing or two. I don't see Seidenberg as a formidable opponent, but he certainly owned Colby. I'm a bruins hater, but good on Sidenberg for not only standing up for himself, but for thrashing his opponent.

i dont think McQuaid should have gotten a roughing since he never got the chance to tag Armstong and backed off when the ref got in between

All Seidenberg, didnt know he had it in him,but he owned Armstrong!!whats up with Colby not even throwing a punch!!WEAK!!!

bigbadbriin22 are u the team fluffer? i am so sick of you always on here ranting and raving about how great your bruins are and how tough they are, its pretty sad that armstrong even had to fight after that hit he was left no choice as mcquaid was already on his back. as for the rest of your comments thornton lost a fight last night u seemed to leave that one out and i dont know if u remember but last week niel held his own very well against chara and had him in a real vulnerable spot at the end of the fight. chara went from new born baby giraffe to dear in the headlights

Posted by QUIGGS22 on March 08, 2012 at 05:41 PM

Gotta love it !!! Great job by Seidenberg !!!

Posted by brianamoro on March 06, 2012 at 09:39 PM

LMAO, dont poke the German. Wtf was that Colby turn down looch and mccquaid and get destroyed by Seidenberg hahah

Posted by mbassy on March 07, 2012 at 02:16 PM

good for seidenberg to deal with his own stuff, tells mcquaid to go away and kicks colby's ass. that's what you can get from 'non-fighters' if you actually piss them off. just because someone doesn't fight on a regular basis in hockey doesn't mean they can't fight.

Posted by Ekki on March 07, 2012 at 03:55 AM

Seidenberg (aka 'still waters') steps in, protecting McQuaid. LOL These rights even hurt while watching...

Posted by stevemcgraw1 on March 07, 2012 at 05:08 PM

This was a complete domination from a non fighter. If seidenberg beat him up this badly can you imagine what Mquaid would of done to him??? And whay MORON voted for Armstrong???

Posted by Esjay1980 on March 06, 2012 at 09:14 PM

Wow!!! Didn't realize Seidenberg had it in him...good on him! What a beatdown! Lucky for Armstrong that he didn't go with the lone wolf...cause if Seidenberg tuned him that bad, Adam might have killed him!

Posted by Lucic Rules on March 09, 2012 at 12:40 PM

Posted by KnockoutDan on March 07, 2012 at 12:12 AM

We have a bleeder..... Armstrong the cheap shot artist get's a shit kicking from the non fighter Seidenberg who gets the clear win.

Posted by bloodonyourlips on March 07, 2012 at 06:12 PM

Love to see these two teams beat up on each other, easy win for Seidenberg, Armstrong was lucky he didn't go with McQuaid, would have gotten destroyed. Glad to see BB22 on here more lately, always get a laugh from his comments, "I always call them like I see them", he voted for Thornton in the Rosehill fight, better watch that one again buddy, Rosehill was the busier of the two but let up, clearly did enough to take it, admit it, Thornton has lost a step this year.

Posted by montrealSUCKS on March 07, 2012 at 09:07 PM

The German hammer with the W. Even Boston's "non fighters" can fight.

Posted by FightsOfHockey on March 06, 2012 at 11:12 PM

Seidenberg wins

Posted by GCHiker on March 07, 2012 at 09:41 AM

Most people don't realize just how strong Seidenberg is. Not surprising he's able to hold off Armstrong with one hand while jackhammering him with the other. Gravy win for Dennis.

Posted by fenians79 on March 11, 2012 at 10:28 AM

Sie German bye a mile or kilometer..if in Europe. Note to Armstrong...when in a fight...THROW A PUNCH!!!!

slight edge to seidenberg. armstrongs face landed some good shots to seidenbergs fist.

How could ANYONE vote for the draw or Armstrong? Armstrong didn't get a single punch off.....Toronto fans.......

Posted by AC1026 on March 06, 2012 at 10:21 PM

Another case of "why even drop the gloves" Seidenberg all the way. KO good thing it wasn't McQuaid, would have had to send in the body bag.

Posted by voorhees86 on March 06, 2012 at 09:12 PM

Ah ha ha ha ha!!!! Armstrong's fantastic! First Lucic, then McQuaid and he thought he was all cool fighting the german and just get's beat down! I think he would've died against Lucic or McQuaid...

Posted by matmegmiche on March 09, 2012 at 11:06 PM

What was Armstrong thinking.

Posted by BigBadBruin22 on March 07, 2012 at 03:47 AM

Seidenberg with the easy win. These B's are just tough up and down their lineup and it must piss other teams off, cause it sure makes the haters on here ridiculously jealous! HA! Seriously, when haters vote for the clear, and I mean CLEAR loser, it is the most blatant form of jealousy. I call em the way I see em and if my team's player loses I either don't vote or I vote honestly but keep my mouth shut in the comments. It's been easy this year cause Chara, Lucic and McQuaid are undefeated, but Thornton has lost a couple, one to Rupp I remember of hand, and Campbell loses here and there. The B's player for player are the baddest team in the NHL! Other team's fans should thank the Bruins! It's because of the B's that Montreal and Vancouver are trying to get tough by signing fighters and Buffalo is trying to rape everyone that touches their goalie, and even the Rangers have modeled their team after us! I hope teams DO get tougher so there'll be MORE fights! That's what this site is for!!! Ps, custom, Bloodonyourlips, original6whatever?, boldbilly, greatmurray, and a few others who are insignificant apparently since I forgot your names, keep up the great work of sounding like Mensas! Hahahaha

Even with a point deducted for having a visor ..... Sedenberg beats down what looked like George Armstrong..... wow

Posted by scorp1on on March 07, 2012 at 06:53 AM

Wow an angry Dennis wipes up the ice with Colby.

Posted by dcmac on March 07, 2012 at 07:33 AM

Armstrong ducks two then gets hammered anyway.

Posted by jlmcgui on March 08, 2012 at 07:01 PM

Very interesting chain-of-events. Armstrong lines up across from Lucic and they "spar" enough to be seperated by the officials. Then, Armstrong runs Seidenberg into the boards. McQuaid comes to Seidenberg's defense and Armstrong chooses to tangle with Seids ... who kicks the living $hit out of him. Maybe Armstrong should have tangled with Lucic or McQuaid as he 'might' have done better than he did against "the German Hammer" ... Good for Seidenberg, a clean player, who defended himself quite well!

Posted by mandb97 on March 06, 2012 at 09:21 PM

After the 2010-2011 season Seidenberg said on WBZ 98.5 for the physical style of hockey he plays he would have to learn how to defend himself if need be. I think he did. My concern for Armstrong is that he is susceptible to concussions. He has not returned to the ice since the fight.

Posted by codemgr on March 07, 2012 at 02:49 PM

Colby got owned by a non fighter! Who new Seidenberg had that in him? I can only imagine if Lucic or McQuaid had gotten to him instead. OUCH!!

Posted by bruins34 on March 07, 2012 at 12:09 PM

Seidenberg with a good mauling here. Who knew!?!? I think skating ability is an overlooked aspect of the fight game, and it really shows here. It was a heat of the moment scrap, so #44 gets a pass for not taking the visor off. I am sure the Bruins-hating nation will be up in arms about it, but I don't recall ever seeing the guy fight before. To Armstrong's credit though, he was willing to go with McQuaid too, so at least he backs up his hits.

Mcquaid: I'm gonna kill you!!! Armstrong: no thanks I'm not a fighter I'm a lover Seidenberg: I'm gonna kill you!!! Armstrong: oh well I can take you let's do this Fast forward 5 minutes...... Armstrong: jeeeeeez these stitches sting so bad!!!!!

Posted by chbstr44 on March 06, 2012 at 09:21 PM

Seidenberg in a rout. Armstrong was lucky the ref threw McQuaid out of it. Quader would have put him out of commission.

Posted by dontpokeTheBear on March 08, 2012 at 10:02 PM

Colby pissed his pants and then DS pummeled him. Imagine if he went with McQ????? LMFAO. No offense to the other "don't poke the bear" but, can you get get a new handle?

Posted by spencerayres6 on March 08, 2012 at 10:52 AM

If your armstrong best case scenario right there is getting seidenberg, at least its better than lucic or Mcquaid, Seidenberg stepped up for himself, Mcquiad coming right over was nice. With that said one sided fight Seidenberg gets all the hits few pretty good shots takes down armstrong and when he is bleeding on the ice sometimes a good indicator of the fight well at least here. Seidenberg is built like a god damn tank, don't think I've seen him fight before but I guess he can handle himself. On another note Seidenberg looks like Jason Statham

Posted by rocknroll24 on March 06, 2012 at 10:02 PM

Number nine should have said 'nein'. Dominating win for Seidenberg.

Posted by MMASeaDog on March 07, 2012 at 09:59 AM

Posted by dropmittens17 on March 07, 2012 at 04:16 PM

the german hammer puts the das boots to armstrong in this one. colby lucked out with his dance partner, he just forgot that he doesnt know how to dance. bigbadbruins22...couldnt of posted a better comment myself. people are just jealous of our bruins squad truely skippered by the the great, Cameron Neely... a win is a win. the b's do alot of it with the gloves off.

Posted by ChrisInBoston on March 06, 2012 at 09:27 PM

Pure domination.

T-blades pumps armstrongs eyes shut. did not return.

Posted by daxg on March 10, 2012 at 10:15 PM

Makes you wonder who were the 3% that picked Armstrong...this one wasn't even close.

Posted by Jaxman2002 on March 07, 2012 at 09:13 AM

Armstrong also thought he was going to run around like a tough guy...not gonna happen against the B's brotha. Anyone ever seen how big Seid's is? He's built like a tank so Armstrong was just overwhelmed in this one. Either way Armstrong was in for a beating anyway. McQuaid would have pounded him as well.

Posted by bigox_8133 on March 06, 2012 at 09:29 PM

Dont get the German angry

Posted by Crosbys_Snatch on March 07, 2012 at 06:02 PM

Seeing as how it just came out that Armstrongs nose is broken, this is a no brainer. He's lucky he didn't get McQuaid. If Seidenberg broke his nose, McQuaid likely would have broken his face.

Posted by Skibot on March 07, 2012 at 10:56 AM

Seidenberg destroyed him. I don't consider Armstrong a "fighter" and I don't consider Seidenberg a "non-fighter". The talk on here is so silly sometimes. Armstrong is a lightweight and will have many more nose-jobs if he thinks he can play that style. I think almost every player in the NHL has a good chance at winning a fight with Colby.

Posted by Canooker on March 09, 2012 at 05:46 PM

Armstrong was lucky Seidenberg took him on instead of McQuaid...but I bet he doesn't feel too lucky!

Posted by slshbleed on March 09, 2012 at 12:47 PM

"Seidenberg is not really know as a fighter" He is now. Well, as long as he fights guys like Armstrong. Seidenberg was able to get his arm all the way around Armstrong's neck and land upper cut after upper cut almost like a 3 Stooges move.

Posted by giantsfrey on March 06, 2012 at 09:42 PM

that. was. AWESOME. seidenberg, the silent beast haha

Posted by klebold on March 07, 2012 at 12:44 AM

Who the fuck chose Colby for the winner? Someone's gotta fix that because it's getting annoying.

Posted by mlongo10 on March 06, 2012 at 08:51 PM

That was great, I bet he wasn't expecting that out of Seidenberg. Armstrong was leaking pretty good.

Posted by npa312 on March 24, 2014 at 01:29 AM

First time I've ever seen this fight. It's always fun to watch a non-fighter really give a beat-down. I've never really seen Seidenberg or Armstrong ever drop gloves. I can understand why there are so many Bruins haters out there. If you slash and hit Bruin's players like this, you're probably gonna get your ass beat. But that's the way the game is. I assume everyone on this site is in favor of fighting being part of the game. Other teams don't have players like Lucic; or Thornton, who can fight almost anyone in the NHL at 6'2" 210 pounds; or Chara who can easily wreck almost everyone in the NHL execpt maybe Boogaard. If any other teams had these players all their fans would want them to play the exact same way. That being said, I've never seen anything like this out of Seidenberg. I think that first hard upper cut really messed up Armstrong and he was on the defensive from then on. With the grip Seidenberg had he couldn't pull away. If Seindenberg could always fight like this I think we'd see it a little more.

Posted by twister47 on March 08, 2012 at 08:05 AM

Dennis your the man. way to destroy a bigger player that takes a cheap run at you. were are all the Hater's now?? can you imagine if that was lucic, thorton, McQuaid, that did that. there would have been 40 pages on how they only take on smaller players, waah waah waah. we would have had to hand out a 1000 crying towels. haha. McQuaid great job being a team player. can you imagine if you got a hold of armstrong.. Note to armstrong the bruins pee wee's play at intermission WAIT!!!!!!! forget it you would have got pounded there too. Classic.

Posted by POGOENYUME on March 07, 2012 at 04:22 PM

I would like to meet the 3.3 percent that actually think Armstrong won that beating. Seidenberg dominated!!!!!!!!

Posted by carchop on March 07, 2012 at 08:28 AM

Those who voted Armstrong the winner are completely out of your minds .... or, you didn't see the same fight that took place here. McQuaid came to do his voodoo in defense of a "non-fighting" Bruin, but was tossed off by Dennis who wanted to fix this one himself ... for those who gave the win to Colby, note the only "win" he had was the late check against the boards.... Dennis then proceeded to get the crap beat out of himself. He did win the "hug" portion, but note the 13 blows his head stopped .... the last 4 were especially potent, and Armstrong leaves the ice flowing like a faucet..... it was great to see Dennis pull Colby away from McQuaid and do such a great job teaching Armstrong to mind his manners .... now, please, those who gave Colby the win, please .... explain???

Posted by Dijo on March 07, 2012 at 10:19 AM

Colby Armstrong needs to learn how to fight a little bit. Of course Seidenberg looked like John Scott in this fight. He knew he could throw punches at will. He knew that Armstrong wasn't going to throw any back.

Posted by blackngold on March 07, 2012 at 11:00 PM

Admirable performance by Seidenberg. If Seidenberg was able to tear Armstrong up like that, imagine what McQuaid would have done to that guy.

Armstrong goes looking for what he thought would be a relatively easy out against a non-fighter in Seidenberg, only to get absolutely schooled. Seidenberg got the grip behind Armstrong's head and went to town on him for the TKO.

Seidenberg going all Mike Tyson on Armstrong, quite a surprise to see such good tight fighting by Seidenberg.

Posted by Madhouse27 on March 09, 2012 at 07:10 PM

Dennis Seidenberg makes a rare appearance on and delivers an impressive beat down. Seidenberg is a strong guy and a solid defensemen but I don't recall any other pugilistic victories. He seemed genuinely upset with Armstrong and let him have it.

Posted by ChakoSah on March 07, 2012 at 06:59 PM

Seids doesn't fight much, but Armstrong bit off a bit more than he could chew! Love seeing Seids shove McQuaid out of the way to take it himself! I can't imagine what Armstrong was thinking jawing with Lucic before the draw. That would have been suicide!

"Mr. Armstrong, this is Jason "Mayhem" Miller of Bully Beatdown, I recently saw you get your... I mean, saw your fight with Seidenberg and I wanted to know if you would like us to help you in exacting some revenge.... I can be reached at 1-800-YOU-BLED...." Seidenberg handles his own business with a fellow non-fighter and once again shows why the Bruins are the overall toughest TEAM... In a related review, the turtle lover GSP09 displays his sack envy as the season of the fabled Canadiens is lubed up and taken in the seat.

Armstrong simply tied up and dominated. That last over the top hit was just insult to injury.

Gotta love it when a guy goes after someone, cheap shots him against the boards and the "non-fighter" stands up and beats the crap out of the instigator. Dominant win here for Seidenberg with Armweak being pounded into the ice.

Not quite sure if Armstrong even had a game plan... but whatever it, clearly, wasn't working. LOL@Brianamoro...actually, I think it's pronounced... ''Down't poke zee Jaremoon''... ...''oond please schtoppen vith da feece shaild''.
