Notice how the tone of jack edwards' voice is somber...thornton dominated in this fight and normally edwards would be goin crazy about how thornton is pounding commodore...pfft typical homer garbage.

Posted by Moby911 on March 14, 2012 at 10:58 PM

Thornton win this battle...but he never can get the ko, he punchs like a girl!!!

Posted by Custombreaks on March 13, 2012 at 10:27 PM

Shawn "Duh, I'm a man" Thornton is a embarrassment to all the juice heads out there. Tampa Bay cops should lock him up for a being complete moron. The Bruins are frauds and the 2011 Stanley Cup should be annulled.

Commodore???? Boston sinking fast....love it!

Posted by riffraff on March 14, 2012 at 12:11 AM

derp derp. maybe if i fight the guy in the blue shirt it will put a number on the clock derp two mongoloids going at it. but one mongoloid can fight

Posted by travist on March 14, 2012 at 12:15 AM

i don't care how dumb commodore is and how badly thorny punched his face in, this bruins teams needs to wake the F up. it's embarrassing watching them throw away everything they worked for earlier in the season... ok maybe watching thorny wail on commodore makes me feel a little better, but not much!! WAKE UP BRUINS!!!

Posted by Whaler Fan on March 14, 2012 at 12:09 AM

LOL at the idiots that voted a draw or win Commodore, probably the usual Canuck and Hab homers that ruin the voting of every Bruins fight. Easy Win Thornton.

Posted by homeland on March 14, 2012 at 08:53 AM

Thornton with an easy win. Unfortunately for my Bruins they have been an easy win lately too.

Posted by TexasCanadien on March 14, 2012 at 01:04 AM

I guess Thornton wasn't as worried about his stitches fighting Commodore as he was when he could have (no way would have) fought John Scott. LOL Either way, HUGE win for Thornton and HUGE loss for the Bruins........again. How many points does the NHL give out for "moral victories"?

Posted by GreatMurray on March 17, 2012 at 06:45 AM

Shawn Thornton lands every punch that he threw. Commodore had to be carried to the Bolt's room where he was pronounced DOA.... Oops...that's what Edwards said, What happened was... none of the lefts Thornton first threw landed...best I could tell Thornton landed 1 or 2 nothing punches and gets the win in a crap fight. 3. Oh and both guys went to the room after the fight. Oh and Thornton charged up his team...not so much...they lost 6 to 1...getting ready for a cup run eh. What happened at Pittsburgh? When Lucic started to bang around, Engelland whispered in his ear and not much of him was seen the rest of the game. Asham and Engelland were out all game...no Bruin wanted any of either one. Hal, you are the one with cognitive issues. Engelland skated up to Lucic during a scrum around the net. He spoke to Lucic and Lucic skated away period. I am certain that Engelland did not invite Lucic for brunch at Dennys. I do not have a dog in these shows. Both my teams are relatively soft. I vote and comment based on what I actually see. On those rare times when a Wing or a Bolt do fight, I do the same thing. Blindly following a Jack Edwards fight call to determine your voting will not show you as a voter than can cast a vote according to performance. It is interesting to note the statistical normalcy of the voting when the homer blather is excluded. Reaves was given the close nod over Engelland by the voters here...not a beat down. The fights Reaves has lost have been to a couple of very tough customers. I would not call him finished yet. Now on to your personal attack. I assume that your propensity to debate by slandering someone with an opposing view is indicative of the likelihood that you are just another left-wing, liberal democrat. That, Hal, is as a large an insult as I can concoct. Now that I have made that determination I won't participate with you again.

Commie performs magic and turns into a punching bag.

Posted by bruiser11 on March 14, 2012 at 12:57 AM

Now we have the privlage of hearing yet another pointless rant by boldbilly. The worst. "WEH! MEH! WEH!: I HATE THE BRUINS SO MUCH!!"

Posted by shawn46 on March 14, 2012 at 12:30 PM

I haven't seen a whipping like that since Passion of The Christ

Posted by kinga101 on March 20, 2012 at 08:35 PM

I guess Thornton wanted to end his short losing streak by challenging a weak fighter in Commodore. Not smart to accept for two reasons. 1. His team had a big lead and 2. Thornton was the opponent.

Posted by SharksGetLifted on March 16, 2012 at 11:25 AM

Obviously Thorton is gonna win, It's all he can do. I dont even know why he plays, has no skill. all he does is goon it up like the rest of the bruins. what a bunch of wussies! get some skill boston! Bruins BLOW!!!!!!

Posted by mudman55 on March 15, 2012 at 12:00 PM

Totally agree with Brickley. Commodore scored points with every tough guy in the league there. I can guarantee that no one is going to refuse Commodore in the future if he asks (plus they can probably kick his a**).

Posted by workthejab on March 15, 2012 at 11:38 AM

Kind of saw how lop-sided it was going to be when Commodore couldn't even shake his gloves off right. Up 4-0 in the first, and you drop them with Thornton just to get owned like that...makes me think Commie is a Masochist. "Havn't seen a whipping like that since Passion of the Christ"...lmao at that one...Blasphemy is the funniest way to go straight to hell :P

Posted by nait on March 13, 2012 at 10:35 PM

stupid of commodore

Posted by AC1026 on March 13, 2012 at 10:26 PM

Best thing that could have happened...hit his head on the glass. What a destruction

Posted by bammer24 on March 14, 2012 at 12:12 PM

Thornton with the win.Bruins with the loss.Again.........Time to wake up! Looks like BOLDBILLY has what we call his "HOCKEY PERIOD".

Posted by probie4life on March 14, 2012 at 02:13 AM

Thornton dominated this bout. Lightning dominated game. Thornton plays hard and competes every shift. The B's should be embarrassed by their play tonight! This years team is far from the Stanley Cup champs of last.

Posted by Behn Wilson on March 14, 2012 at 05:10 AM

Commodore has always had more guts, and hair, than most of the other part-time fighters in the league. But this time out, Thornton, and his two-handed, '' fists of fury'' attack, didn't give him a second to breathe, as he... to quote Rocky's trainer... ''eats Lightning, and craps thunder'' on his way to a one-sided, tuning.

Posted by brianamoro on March 13, 2012 at 09:30 PM

Not sure why commodore would do this in a lopsided game but after the beating he took i bet he doesnt do it again.

Posted by DARCY T on March 15, 2012 at 08:41 AM

props to commie for accepting the fight...win thornton and 6

Posted by hughcares on March 13, 2012 at 11:32 PM

The moron Boston fans will actually get it right this time when they vote for Thornton - his first real win of the season. Nothing to be proud of as Commodore is a stiff.

Posted by hal29 on March 14, 2012 at 01:31 PM

Win Thornton... GreatMurray do you do drugs and lots of it? It seems as if it makes you even dumber each time you post. I mean really Lucic was running around and then Engelland whispered in his ear and Lucic skated with his tail between his leg the rest of the game? Really? Oh and Asham? Come on dude. There are a number of guys on Boston who would take care of those two. I highly highly doubt Lucic is going to back down from those two. Considering Engelland. Has he won a fight yet this year? He lost to Reaves who is struggling to find a win. Engelland is tough but not enough to put fear into people. There is a reason why guys around the league voted Lucic as the toughest guy in the league, not Engelland. So get out of your fantasy world of your make believe bs and come back to reality. No way in hell did Engelland say something to Lucic to make him fear anything. Lucic played tough and physical the whole 60 minutes, probably the only Bruin to do so, but he wasn't backing down from no one. You are a classified moron!!!

Posted by bruins rule on March 15, 2012 at 08:32 AM

thornton gets the win in this fight.

Posted by fernben8 on March 13, 2012 at 11:18 PM

As one would expect, a one sided victory for Thornton... After all the years in the league, you would think Commodore would have a book on Do's and Don't on Thornton.

Posted by sedinfan on March 13, 2012 at 10:02 PM

Lets see, we are up 4-0, I am a terrible fighter, I am dumber than a bag of hammers, yet i am going to fight one of the top fighters in the league and get my face punched in. Makes sense to me.

Posted by mmadced on March 15, 2012 at 10:16 PM

clear win for thorny as props for commodore for showing up..... before the end of the year lets have a poll who the biggest jerk is on this site. it's between; bold billy, custombreaks and great murray. i know its going to be really close as these douche bags stand all by themselves far an away .

Posted by raymi2 on March 14, 2012 at 08:57 AM

That is not guts! It's stupidity or desperation from Commodore. No i think it's simply a guy who doesn't want to look like a chicken by fighting against a heavy weight and ending up looking like a fool!

Posted by lbx28 on March 13, 2012 at 09:46 PM

hey roper at least the bruins will make the playoffs , and it looked like commodore was more then willing to fight. yes the bruins are playing awful but I am sure they will be just fine come playoff time , something your habs dont have to worry about.

Posted by dontpokeTheBear on March 14, 2012 at 09:12 PM

Ez win for Thorty. 7.2% votes against SW??? Wicked idiots...LMFAO.

Posted by Bakes923 on March 14, 2012 at 10:40 AM

Thornton back to his winning ways, used Commy as a punching bag!!Commy has been awful all year!!don't think he's won all year!!

Posted by codemgr on March 14, 2012 at 01:07 PM

Kudos to the old computer for droppin the gloves with a big lead. He was owned by thornton!!

Posted by lb1631 on March 17, 2012 at 12:00 PM

what the hell was Commodore thinking. Stupid guy.

Posted by DuckHawk on March 14, 2012 at 07:22 AM

Obviously all Thornton here, that much cant be denied....however Commodore did the right thing, like it or not, he is their best option as an enforcer, and did what he needed to do. Thornton being the enforcer that he is, (among the leagues best) would have hunted all game for someone, out of frustratioin and in an attempt to get his team going, and Commodore knows that....props to him for stepping up.......................custombreaks, I think i speak for everyone here, PLEASE GO AWAY.

Posted by beantown on March 13, 2012 at 09:31 PM

The one bright spot for the B's in this laugher. Go ahead and take a look at the Bruins' record since Timmy T-Party snubbed the prez. The importance of team chemistry should not be discounted.

Posted by Canner on March 13, 2012 at 10:17 PM

Krusty the Klown gets ragdolled by a convalescing Thorny looking to build some momentum going into some tough games later on with the Philthies and Rags, sorta like the decoy by the bulls at the rodeo..... Could they not have just shot him out of a cannon instead for the Barnum and Bailey-like effect ?? And why is MacDaddy not fighting while he's up ?? Does he think he's auditioning for PP duty back there on the 4 th line ???

Posted by slavv on March 13, 2012 at 10:25 PM

Commodore looked like one of those bouncy clowns that you hit and it goes down but pops back up because the air in its head is lighter than the sand in its feet....

Posted by dapwas20 on March 13, 2012 at 09:41 PM

Thornton dominates thisone.

Posted by Kordic64 on March 14, 2012 at 01:59 AM

Mikey Mikey, what were you thinking? ................Oh, you weren't. Got it!!!!!!! Thorny W & domination

Posted by ssully1618 on March 13, 2012 at 09:50 PM

@roper13 what complete pickle you are. Most fights are handpicked these days since most fighters are non existent. Commodore is the closest player on Tampa to a fighter. Pretty sure Thornton fought laraque multiple times. Your just sad because you don't have looch or Thornton on your team you Mary. Most likely a Canuck fan.

Posted by beretta804 on March 14, 2012 at 12:16 AM

Was that Commodore's mother who voted for him? Too bad, she saw her son get a whoopin. I wonder if he'll remember her after that fight

Posted by voorhees86 on March 13, 2012 at 11:49 PM

Custombreaks is awesome. I love reading stupid things like your comments. He should be locked up.... hee hee....

Posted by tomnuetten on March 15, 2012 at 10:34 AM

one sided win by sugar shawn but I give Commodore some credit because he stepped up when he didnĀ“t have to

Posted by tyrone on March 13, 2012 at 10:57 PM

What an absolute a$$ kicking by ST.

Posted by billy jack on March 14, 2012 at 12:14 AM

for the money commodore collects he should stick his face out their more often like that.

Posted by Bostonslugfest on March 15, 2012 at 02:50 PM

HAHAHAHA! and anyone that talks trash about Thornton fighting a " non " fighter or anything can suck it. for years now Commodore has been trying to be a pest. so he gets what he gets. other than that . good with Tampa, you needed it!

Posted by FightsOfHockey on March 13, 2012 at 09:39 PM

decisive vic for Thornton

Posted by chbstr44 on March 15, 2012 at 08:01 PM

Not even close

Posted by Destroyer on March 13, 2012 at 09:46 PM

Don't know much about Commodore but this was an absolute demolition. Commodore seemed unable or unwilling to defend himself. It appears Thorntons stitches are healed and he was just waiting to destroy someone. Sucks to be Commodore

Posted by Cozy4041 on March 13, 2012 at 10:08 PM

Posted by AirdRhi on March 14, 2012 at 12:22 AM

Posted by Fightjudge on March 19, 2012 at 03:33 AM

Thornton is a real tough guy fighting Commodore 64. Kudos for Mike for standing up to the big pussy! Thorntons punches barely even connected. Moral victory goes to Commodore for fighting that bag of hammers!

Posted by hockeyrules999 on March 15, 2012 at 07:30 PM

My team is losing, so I have to justify my job since I can't skate.

Posted by legend22 on March 14, 2012 at 08:16 AM

I havent seen a beating like this since Roots.

Posted by LightningDogg on March 14, 2012 at 08:25 AM

Yeah Thornton tunes him up - big deal. He was running everyone on the ice and Commodore took him up on it. A guy with 8 fights in the last 3 years vs a guy with 54. A pointless fight as Thornton got the Pandas so fired up they only lost 6-1 instead of 6-0. I have no idea why Commie took him on but at least he didn't get hurt. Maybe next time he could school Cement Head on how to skate the puck over the blue line. It would be a similar mismatch.

Posted by thebigbea55 on March 13, 2012 at 11:59 PM

Commodore need to stop fighting.. he seems to lose every fight..

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on March 14, 2012 at 05:52 PM

Commodore out of his league here, but give him some credit for going but it was all Thornton.

Posted by kkdowning on March 15, 2012 at 09:13 AM

not sure why Commodore would do that, unless he has a bonus in his contract based on the number of punches he takes without getting knocked out

Posted by HchVegasNHL57 on March 13, 2012 at 09:32 PM

A clearly frustrated ST takes his anger of the B's performance out on commodores head. Props to comm for goin but a pretty one sided tilt here. The way Boston has been starting games I'm tipping them being down early vs the panthers and for ST to go looking for barch. Could be a doozy.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on March 14, 2012 at 12:52 AM

Commodore, despite his 2" height and 10 lb. weight advantages, as well as recently coming straight out of the NHL fighting Mecca of Motown, runs into the "Brick House" that is Thornton..... Mr. Roper13, who prefers Jack Tripper over Chrissy and Janet, joins CustomBroke-back in his tent upon the Cansuck Mountain, where all the Separatist men parler francais and frolic naked with the sheep.... Beware your behinds, beware the Ides of March....

Posted by Wooly on March 15, 2012 at 08:46 PM

Domination by Thornton, stupid decision by Commodore to fight when his team is up by 4

Posted by muskokadangler on March 13, 2012 at 11:41 PM

Owned !!!!!! Another one sided fight !!!!

Posted by mike2323 on March 15, 2012 at 04:25 AM

Thornton dominates

Posted by maineman on March 14, 2012 at 12:15 AM

Thornton was like a buzzsaw in this one -- all Commodore could do was try to not get creamed by Thonton's constant barrage of rights and lefts. Domination here for Thornton.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 04, 2015 at 02:09 AM

Thorny crushed Commodore

Posted by chad420 on March 14, 2012 at 12:14 PM

AllDay Thornton....Could the Bad News Bears being playing any worse?...We're going to get bounced in the first round if they keep playing like Smashed A$$

Posted by roper13 on March 13, 2012 at 09:29 PM

What a complete idiot Thornton is. Wow, Mr. tough guy goes after a pussy like Commodore....very classy Thornton. Where was his bravado when challenged by Laraque?? Looks like he's following Lucic's lead and handpicking opponents now. Love seeing the Bruins totally flowing down the septic tank!! Classless jerks!

Posted by boldbilly on March 14, 2012 at 07:51 AM

FIrstly I'd like to say to bruiser11.........sorry about your small peni$....... But as they say you are what you eat. Now as for the very brave Thornton here.......stitches didn't seem to come in to play as the fading....... Spot picker grew some here. Predictable win when you hand pick your opponent.........are you kidding me Behn Wilson....... The only crap comparison I would use here is the quality opponent that Thornton chose. THIS IS THE ONLY FIGHT THIS YEAR THAT BOSTON VOTERS WILL GET RIGHT WITH THEIR ONE SIDED BALLOT STUFFING. I guess Roman Hamerlik wasn't available? Thornton is a fading fighter and is not long for this league.......when he fights the true heavies he loses....... Rosehill is a good example..... Not a household name but good enough to beat old Shawny boy. FINALLY TO BRUISER11......... I'D LIKE TO SAY GOOD LUCK WITH THE EXTENSION OPERATION............LOL.........BRUINS. ONE. AND. DONE

Posted by Sasky001 on March 14, 2012 at 10:10 PM

Thornton playing schoolyard bully. Picks a spot and looks like a tool.
