Dustin Brown, hands down, clear winner.

Posted by probie4life on April 16, 2012 at 01:43 AM

Great, clean hit on sedin! kopitar should be grateful that burrows didn't try and take a nibble! little rat that he is

Posted by darkknight9 on April 16, 2012 at 12:18 AM

Can I vote for Dustin Brown as the winner of that fracas?

Posted by The Mad House on April 16, 2012 at 08:17 AM

A nothing fight, all I saw was both of these guys hanging on for dear life. But.... Canucks down 3-0? What's going on?

Posted by swinny on April 16, 2012 at 12:12 AM

Burrows is a waste of skin

Posted by mudman55 on April 16, 2012 at 08:02 AM

I think that's a good hit. Sometimes good hits result in this. Brown glided in, so no charging....He got him in the chest.... There was a fight?

Posted by classic4 on April 16, 2012 at 01:18 PM

A non fight for a late hit. Just protecting your Captain. The idea here is to evaluate a fight, not whether you like the players/team. Would imagine most of the people making these stupid comments would lose to their own shadow. But like it or not, this is playoff hockey 2012 style or a remake of "Slap Shot". R.I.P.

Posted by sandman935 on April 16, 2012 at 12:38 PM

Kopitar is not a fighter. This just in.

Posted by scorp1on on April 18, 2012 at 12:35 AM

The hit wasn't the slightest bit late. Half second after the pass out at most. Don't look at the slow motion shot for the time. Look at the real time. There is a reason why players typically don't spend a lot of time finessing passes behind themselves along the side boards and there is another reason why they don't typically casually turn around into god-knows-what after doing so. Maybe Sedin forgot this was the NHL for a moment. The wrestling match afterwards was a draw.

Posted by TFJ91 on April 17, 2012 at 06:31 AM

It seems like some of the brightest people come to this site to comment. Yes it was a clean hit, but if Brown is as tough as you guys say he is then why would he not fight Bieksa or Burrows? I don't like it when a player has to answer for a clean hit, but when the player he hit is the other team's captain he should answer. Says a lot about Brown as a captain if he let's Kopitar fight his battles for him. As for the fight, this was as much as a fight as Crosby and Giroux's fight.

Posted by fenians79 on April 16, 2012 at 12:19 PM

Good playoff hit....a tick to late in my mind. That said I hate everything the Canucks do.......they let Sedin get blown up and their response send a guy to on Brown for a piggy back ride.....lame gutless team.

Posted by legend22 on April 17, 2012 at 08:15 AM

The winner here is hockey fans everywhere who have been waiting to see the gutless canucks get what they deserve and on a clean hit, unlike the shots the give. DRAW

This was a non event. The "fight that wasn't". Kopitar's only mistake was dropping his gloves. Otherwise there's not even 5 called for fighting.

Posted by esoteric106 on April 16, 2012 at 12:15 AM

what a hug fest typical from burrows though will only hit if they dont see it coming

Posted by battleshipfan on April 23, 2012 at 06:56 PM

burrows must be scared of brown, waste of time fight

Posted by MilburyKOMyKid on April 16, 2012 at 04:32 AM

"You have 3 seconds after the puck leaves a guy's stick to hit him. " No. The rulebook and Hockey Operations don't specify exactly but it's more like 1 sec never 3. It is insane to even think 3 is legal. The Rome on Horton was 2 Mississippi, confirmed as 1 second late and cost 4 games in the Finals. Stuart on Johansson or Lapierre on Nichol 2 Mississippi NHL labeled late.

Posted by oranges14 on April 17, 2012 at 09:11 PM

kopitar is 6'5- 230 and just got taken down by burrows.

Posted by nuckles88 on April 19, 2012 at 03:52 AM

Only reason Brown didnt get suspended on that play is because henrik can take a hit better than anyone and comes right back into the game. That being said, Burrows gets the win in this fight. Lands the only punches on Kopi who bear hugs him until Burrows knocks him down. Dirty hit regardless of whether he was punished for it or not. Brown's jersey just doesnt say "Torres" on the back and has the 'C' so he gets away with it.

Posted by kinga101 on April 18, 2012 at 02:15 PM

Burrows was the only one trying to do anything so he gets the win. I'm not a Canucks fan but I don't blame Vancouver for trying to burn their city down with the one-sided officiating against them since last years playoffs. Speaking of officiating, this has been the worst playoffs or whole season for that matter that I have ever seen. The players have no idea what they can or can't do. Certain teams are clearly favored and there is no consistancy in disciplinary actions whatsoever. I hate to say it but the NHL has lowered itself to the NBA level.

Posted by bluebloods on April 16, 2012 at 09:44 AM

burrows is a dirty hocker player. like most of the team they are hated.

Posted by Slap_Shot on April 16, 2012 at 12:37 AM

Not a good showing by Anze---

Posted by Bloodbank on April 16, 2012 at 12:31 AM

Kopitar steps in as Burrows goes after Brown. Brown not man enough to fight Bieksa. First fight for Kopitar but doesn't show well.

Posted by slainte12 on April 18, 2012 at 02:38 PM

Clean hit by Brown, canucks reacting because they don't like when either of the twin sisters gets hit. Burrows the biter didn't even fight, they were spinning and went to the ice. This was a non-fight. Win to Brown for a good hockey hit.

Posted by oilersfansylvan on April 19, 2012 at 09:11 PM

Just when you thought the Canucks could not go any lower, or loose any more class....and to the rescue comes Burrows.....how do you spell Canucks---- LOOOOOSERS

Posted by Detroit_Caps on April 16, 2012 at 05:56 AM

Is this Kopitars first fight? If not there aren't a lot of them. Burrow should of finished him

Good solid clean hit...but its so impolite to hit a girl...

Posted by Clark75 on April 16, 2012 at 04:33 PM

Hardly a fight here. One of the cleanest biggest hits I've seen. Not sure what Simpson is talking about. Clean hit, no penalty. Good call refs.

Posted by dfraz1101 on April 20, 2012 at 11:42 AM

terrible fight!

Posted by miller119 on April 26, 2012 at 06:16 PM

hit was nice! fight sucked

Not much to see here move along.

Posted by DARCY T on April 16, 2012 at 02:44 PM

wow what a beautiful hit.it couldtn have been cleaner.. fight was crap.it was kopitar 1st fight and burrows was the only guy trying to throw anything but they were to close and i dont think he landed any of them...draw

Posted by kimo_coyote on April 16, 2012 at 02:06 AM

hug and tug with no happy ending.

Posted by ISYSpanther on April 16, 2012 at 05:27 PM

Burrows did the right thing, but screwed himself over forever with his actions last year. He could save an entire orphanage as it was burning down, he'd still be condemned for his actions. It is a draw, but I can see why people are voting for Kopitar.

Posted by canamrugby on April 18, 2012 at 04:03 AM

Draw. Burrows should have received an extra two for not winning against a non-fighter. Sweet hit on Henrik Sedin, maybe Raffi Torres should watch this one as an instructional video on clean hits.

They were hugging more then my wife and I do!

Posted by JRStewie11 on April 17, 2012 at 09:42 PM

Great hit on a Sedin-sister

Posted by jamesaylen on April 19, 2012 at 08:07 AM

Cheep Hit! Whats the difference between that hit, and a sucker punch??!! Hendrik didn't even see it coming!! Real tough!! My 6 year old daughter could have done that hit! All that did was wake the team up! REVERSE SWEEP IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN LA!! Keep your head up Dave Brown! ya Pop Tart.

Posted by claire alexande on April 17, 2012 at 02:20 AM

Hit was perfectly clean, and even the Nuck saclickers around here know it. Have to give the win to Kopitar, since Brown could take both Bitchka and Alexandria at the same time with one arm tied behind his back. Hell, Murray Hall could.

Posted by SouthPaw017 on April 16, 2012 at 01:02 AM

A Sedin Sister gets planted and on comes the Biter.... I'll give the scrap to the sissy simply because of the fact that he had the opportunity to pull a crapload of Kopitar's hair, and somehow, someway, he went against his true pansy nature, and refrained.... And up on the mountain top, CustomBroke-Back is restless in his empty tent, as the Cansucks are about to get swept.... Stay out of the city boys and girls, a riot is on the horizon...

Posted by ecnerwalj on April 16, 2012 at 12:53 PM

waste of fighting majors...burrows is a greasy little punk, he wouldn't think of waiting to go after brown, he knows he'd get his candy-ass whipped...kopitar was an easy target, but is bigger & stronger than little alex so real punches thrown & no harm was done to either set of knuckles, and I dare say the kings do not feel one ounce more intimidated after the nucks weak response...

Posted by majik317 on April 16, 2012 at 05:07 AM

Typical Burrows, typical Bieksa, typical Vancouver. This year their punk ass play aint cuttin it in the playoffs. They deserve everything they are getting. Daniel Sedin is still out cause he decided to hit high on Keith and now they cant score without the ugly sister. Karma is a beotch. Same for Pittsburgh. Both teams favored to come out of thier conference, bout to get swept. Hey Schneider, people don't hate you guys cause your good. We hate you cause you play like punk ass bitches. Domino MOFO.

Posted by Livewire on April 16, 2012 at 12:21 AM

You have 3 seconds after the puck leaves a guy's stick to hit him. The timing on the hit was fine. It may have been a head shot, but it was more just a lack of paying attention. As for the fight, it was alright, but Burrows deff. got more swings in and took Kopitar down.

Posted by bammer24 on April 16, 2012 at 05:06 PM

Winner Dustin Brown now the Sedins look like matching Bobbleheads. The fight was a draw.HAH Burrows what a joke.

Posted by rwallum on April 16, 2012 at 12:27 AM

Nice to see Burrows growing a set of balls and going after a real heavyweight like Kopitar. Gutless coward...

Posted by brymaster1 on April 16, 2012 at 01:29 AM

WIN Brown for crushing Sedin, Burrows is a coward and found the least toughest guy he could and still couldn't win.

Posted by Angryyoungman on April 16, 2012 at 09:52 AM

Sedin was caught in a volrunable position when he was hit. Fine or suspension to follow.

Posted by JayG on April 16, 2012 at 12:01 PM

Exactly what you'd expect of a Burrows fight: a hug fest. BTW, Typical hypocrisy from the Canucks: they whined that Rome's hit on Horton last year was totally clean, but Sedin gets dazed and they cry foul. I hope the Kings put them out in 4.

Posted by clusterpuck1 on April 16, 2012 at 01:37 PM

I agree...Brown should get the win. The announcers are terrible. That was a perfectly clean hit. Brutal, but clean. Sedin turned right into it. Burrows is a weasel. Sedin is going to need counseling to help him get over the nightmares of Brown crushing him.

Posted by nait on April 16, 2012 at 09:38 PM

did he bite this time?? damn pansy. sedin i do have respect for but that was a clean hit in my book it was the fall that hrt him

Posted by ChakoSah on April 16, 2012 at 05:17 PM

Hugfest. God, I so wanted to see Burroughs get his head handed to him, but just didn't happen.

Posted by JoeCritter on April 16, 2012 at 04:20 AM

"Lets see if he wants to be a tough guy. Let's see how tough he is right after you hit him right under the chin" -- Gregg Williams. Alex Smith. Sedin. Tomayto. Tomahto. More seriously. Brown had enough of a run that if he had accelerated at *all*, he would have gotten 2 for charging and might have gotten it anyway. If he came from that far away on a cross-ice vector, and laid the same hit on Sedin, it would have sent Sedin into the bench and been slapped with a solid 5 minute major for boarding. Most damning, changing nothing else, had he changed his angle just a little, he can easily come away with the puck, intercepting Sedin's pass, so it clearly wasn't his intent to dislodge the puck from Sedin. Everything about it screams Brown simply wasn't playing Hockey when he made the hit. The rules should be enforcing that point. If they aren't, something's wrong.

Posted by GreatMurray on April 16, 2012 at 06:27 AM

WWE stuff...save it for Monday...no fight. Vancouver's done...no answer for physicality is killing them.
