Salvador uses balance and some evasive judo techniques to avoid finding out the hard way whether or not Thornton has lost his edge Well played

crap fight and as a Bruins fan it kills me to see Thornton still not recover fully from the Scott fight

Posted by sedinfan on October 12, 2014 at 12:26 AM

This color man was taking about Thornton from 2-3 years ago. "one of the toughest customers in the National Hockey League" he says. He obviously didn't watch many Bruins games last year.

how do you rate Salvador with that percentage when nothing happen, hug fest throw to the ice no punches., I have see cat fights with more action. Nothing happened there Salvador didn't want anything to do with thornton even though thornton is not what he use to be.

This looked like an ECHL game. Nobody in the stans. Lame.....

2 veterans going at it.38y old salvador vs 37y old thornton.salvador didnt wanna change punches with thornton and went for a takedown...draw so strange to see thornton in panthers' uniform after so many years as a bruin

Thornton needs to hand in his tough guy card. He got smoked a few times last year. In his first fight of the year a non-fighter takes him to his back on the opening move of the match...oops that's wrestling...well that's all it was. No points for wrestling moves...crap fight...draw.

Did they actually get majors for this? Nothing more than a wrestling match and a Draw.

Salvador knew all he could do was go for the take down

Posted by King of Goons on October 11, 2014 at 11:37 PM

Nice takedown by Salvador in a worthless "fight", ...if that's what they're calling it. Thornton still has heart, but he's washed up and brain dead from all the beatings he's taken in recent years. I'm surprised the physically stronger Salvador didn't maul him.

Thorntons tactics of grabbing and getting in close dont work anymore, thats why he lost all last season. He should have retired rather than lose fights on a crap team like this. Superb takedown by El Salvador though.

What ever happened to buying your partner a drink before asking for a dance?

Well that sucked

I missed this fight on the first time through -- sorry I went back to watch it,

I'm pretty disappointed by this one. Really bad fight, even if it had a really nice looking takedown. Even with the takedown, I'm still voting this one a draw.

Posted by Amerkfan8 on October 12, 2014 at 12:55 AM

This was a draw. Seemed like Salvador wanted it more, not sure what preceeded this but with the Devils winning it wouldn't naturally seem like he'd want to fight in this situation.

Useless Shawn Thornton continue is losing streak.

Posted by Spinner55 on October 12, 2014 at 10:48 AM

What the heck was that??

Posted by J.R. Abel on October 12, 2014 at 12:11 AM

Pretty lame. Any more evidence needed that Thornton is washed up?

Posted by boldbilly on October 12, 2014 at 08:17 AM

"One of the toughest in the league?" The only thing tough is how to figure out how Thornton got a million dollar contract......he should retire.....as I said never mind the John Scott fight ......he was already on a serious decline before that......uneventful draw

Posted by lawdog454 on October 12, 2014 at 12:49 PM

Not much of a fight, draw.
