You know, this was a nothing special, one sided fight and I loved everything about it. Great hit to start the rivalry, clean hard hockey play. Loved it. Laughton is road kill but he finds out who smoked him and goes looking to get him some Niskanen. Loved it. Laughton does the right thing and respectfully approaches Niskanen at the draw. Not even a slash just "lets go" Loved it. Niskanen wins the fight but both men win the day. Loved it

In a vintage play a guy takes a number and squares up the next time they play... Losing effort but, major respect to the Laughton kid for doing this. Also props to Matty Niskanen for stepping up and allowing it. Decent scrap, mutual respect at the end. Great to see. Win to Niskanen & 4

Here's a story where Laughton does not fare well in either Chapters 1 or 2. I applaud his resolve, but hope for his sake he's now got this out of his system.

Laughton tries to avenge the embarrassment of previously having to play Lindros to Niskanen's Stevens... only to find out the hard way that the Capital isn't actually a European Better the Devil you know...

Laughton wanted payback for Niskanen's hit on him in another game. He didn't get it, as Nisky just dished out a little more ass-whooping. Hopefully next time Laughton will cut his losses and not try to engage Niskanent further. Sadly, it was the only bright spot in an otherwise dispirited effort from the Caps.

Although the punches to the back of the head probably don't do much damage, Niskanen did out punch (and punch to the ground) Laughton. Although I had no empirical support for my belief, I had assumed going in that Laughton would have won in this match up.

Laughton upset over getting laid out on a solid and legal hit....then gets laid out again trying to get revenge. Laughton goes 0-2...maybe he should just call it quits and not try for #3

Win Niskanen....Laughton ......well let's just say that was all for naughton Rocky1 are you the president of the Behn Wilson fan club? You tried the same with me a couple of weeks back......if I was Behn I wouldn't even acknowledge your being...... Mike on the other hand has tried to reason with you ......I can't fathom why.

Matty those mail order fighting lessons since the Crosby fiasco a couple of years ago have just paid for themselves...!!!

Good for Laughton for handling his own business...but he got his hat handed to him and hard. All Niskanen.

Had potential to be a spirited scrap, but Laughton never got a good hold or balance. He showed the world he can receive a few blows and that's about it. Niskanan really surprised me for some reason. The game needed it as both teams showed up for a Sunday skate in the park instead of a hockey game.

Laughton tried to get revenge from an open-ice hit during their last game. Niskanen, who is NOT a fighter, stood up and pummeled Laughton. Guaranteed Laughton will stay away from him now!

Laughton feels like he has to even the score and I imagine things didn't go according to plan. Niskanen gets the better of this scrap and Laughton's plot for revenge is derailed. Rocky 1 stop attacking everyone and go get yourself a rub and a tug bro. It'll relax you.

Please no more Scott............

I'll bet Laughton wakes up tomorrow with a sore neck!

laughton got his first nhl fight to avenge the hit that caused him a concussion but niskanen got the win

Posted by bobowen34 on February 08, 2015 at 04:53 PM

So Laughton got steamrolled by Niskanen last game. Guess Laughton should have enacted his revenge on someone he could beat - like one of the Schenn brothers.

What I have been reading here is a lot about nothing! This fight scores a solid three and that is it! Behn sounds like you have more good years behind you than ahead of you with the Scott Stevens,Lindros affair !

Nisky delivers a beating and Laughton thanks him for it. Probably did more damage to his own hand than to Laughton, but still.

Those shields are going to cause more injury than they prevent. This fight was won with rabbit punching (hitting behind the head) illegal in boxing because serious damage can be caused.

Laughton tries to avenge his concussion from earlier in the year on a Niskanen (pretty clean)body check. Classic case of boy vs man. Good on Laughts for tcb but he's lucky he didn't get re-concussed against a bigger stronger more mature NHLer. Next time, hopefully he let's Emery settle his scores.

Niskanen with clear win...

Posted by NMBbob on February 09, 2015 at 08:59 AM

If you want to payback someone,do it ! Laughton tried, but could not deliver-Niskanen with a slight advantage

Posted by Mike2013 on February 10, 2015 at 10:42 PM

Neither one of these guys is a fighter. I give Laughton props for trying to get back at Niskanen for the hit from last month. Yes, he suffered a concussion from that LEGAL hit. Damn lucky he didn't get another concussion from that ass-whipping. Niskanen - complete domination

Posted by doobi1 on February 09, 2015 at 09:24 AM

Niskanen issued out a little capital punishment to Laughton for the win and a very sore hand, I'm sure. The helmets do not break, do they Matt.

How could anyone who watched this fight think that Laughton win it? He gets dump trucked by Nisk earlier in the season on a clean hit, then gets embarrassed further by asking to fight and getting smacked down. Too bad it didn't translate to the rest of the Caps.

Posted by gmr133 on February 09, 2015 at 01:29 PM

Wow the flyers should be embarrassed, again. Isn't Nisky the guy who got rag-dolled by Crosby?

Posted by Ed Van Impe on February 09, 2015 at 07:02 AM

Scott Laughton should be ashamed of herself ...

Posted by Amerkfan8 on February 14, 2015 at 05:29 PM

Niskanen gets the advantage here, but big thumbs up to both guys here.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 10, 2015 at 01:22 AM

Laughton tries to avenge a hit from earlier in the season only to show what a true b*tch he is. Total domination by Niskanen over the dumb a$$ Laughton.

Posted by doctorvegas on February 14, 2015 at 01:09 PM

laughton cannot fight a lick, that is why philly needs to bring up rosehill from lehigh valley.
