horrible call on the hit this is a contact game and Gonchar turned to avoid the hit Clarkson has been a bust but didn't deserve 5 minutes and Beaulieu gets props for coming to the aid of his team mate but Clarkson lands the better shots and wins a close one

Posted by Great Murray on February 16, 2015 at 09:19 AM

The call on Clarkson was to get him off the ice to avoid a brawl later. It saved him from facing a fresh Prust and a serious pounding. The kid gets extra credit for stepping up and I am going to give him the win and a 5. I think he landed a couple. Clarkson gets a mini-beat down but he also gets really embarrassed because of his lack of contribution to the Leafs was magnified in this game. He tries for a chickenchit spot picking fight with Prust. He takes a chickenchit shot at an honored vet and then he gets slapped around by a kid. Finally, his team actually got better with him gone. 4.5 Million a year for that chit...that GM should be in Sudbury selling popcorn. Bettman sucks and he can stick his instigator rule where the sun doesn't shine!

Theoretically Clarkson should have been able to take Beaulieu, but I don't think he does. On other hand, Beaulieu doesn't do enough for the the win either. Draw.

Beaulieu gains some major props from his team for stepping in to drop them with Clarkson after a dangerous hit on Gonchar. Although I decided on a draw. Clarkson does double duty in his 2 and change in ice time, ends up on the end of controversy both times but, hey atleast he's out there dropping them? Nice bit of spice between the oldest rivalry around. Draw & 4

okay people we know most of you are Clarkson haters, but this is a perfectly honest check, beaulieu does the right thing and stepping up for his teammate! Has Clarkson ever won a fight ,and people wonder what the problem is in Toronto!

Posted by Jflah53 on February 15, 2015 at 01:23 AM

Don't really say to much on the site, but when this punk CLARKSON is involved I can't stay quiet.. He is a punk, cheap shot artist that I still don't understand why an organization as good as Toronto could make such a mistake as too think this LOSER is worth 5.5 million a year.. Call this a draw, because as usual CLARKSON only fights guys who don't fight a lot or really aren't fighters… What a WASTE !!!

Posted by mr. puttzo on February 15, 2015 at 10:42 AM

No damage draw

Posted by gsrae on February 15, 2015 at 07:54 AM

Good move by Beaulieu stepping up for his teammate. Crappy fight. Draw

Posted by Behn Wilson on February 16, 2015 at 04:22 AM

Clarkson with the "cleanish" monster hit followed by a cheap elbow and a comeback draw against the reincarnation of Derrick Morris (I.E. a quality sleeper fighter)

Posted by boldbilly on February 14, 2015 at 09:36 PM

As much as I would like to I can't give this to Beaulieu.....this fight was a draw.....Clarkson is a useless contract and gutless cheap shot artist.....he will get his soon enough

Posted by bigmike53 on February 14, 2015 at 08:21 PM

Beaulieu comes to the aid of Gonchar after the big hit by Clarkson. Beaulieu has the advantage early and then Clarkson gets his balance and comes back. Beaulieu landed more and Clarkson landed better. Draw.

Posted by devilsadvocate on February 14, 2015 at 11:11 PM

This Beaulieu kid may not fight much, but he looks like he knows how to handle himself, just like the Canadiens' Big 3 from the 70's - Savard, Lapointe and Robinson.

Posted by faqnu2 on February 17, 2015 at 05:19 PM

since when does a defenceman in this league think he's untouchable, especially on the boards in his own end? Clarkson ran him, and it is Gonchar, but the whining!! he got filled with his head down, and as for the fight, every time that Beaulieu turned his head to throw he ate one, so Clarkson fair and square. Montreal isn't gonna win a cup this year either.

Posted by MeatPlow on February 14, 2015 at 10:13 PM

Very slight edge to the over paid Clarkson. Did I say very slight?

Posted by DARCY T on February 16, 2015 at 06:41 AM

beaulieu steps up for clarkson's hit on gonchar.he started well but wasnt able to control the fight and he realized he wouldnt be able to beat clarkson after clarkson landed them last 2 counterpunches...edge clarkson

Posted by rocky 1 on February 15, 2015 at 12:24 PM

Close fight but the win goes to Clarkson!Homer voting here! Homer voting has skewed the fight results this year making a mockery out of this site.Vote with your eyes and not your Bias!

Hmmm where to begin? I didn't watch the game because curling was on SK vs Team CDN..Sooooo having said that Clarkson was the winner. If you watch the evidence (video). Clearly you can see at the end Clarkson letting up on the Kidd and Nathan looked relieved that he did that. I get it over paid, high priced. Does anyone blame David for signing a contract that was offered to him? Seems like nothing he does right now is right. He's still a NHL caliber player with GRIT. You win Stanley Cups with gritty players. Boston should trade for him straight up for Soderburg. Lots of skill no toughness.

Posted by hockeyrules999 on February 15, 2015 at 10:27 PM

Poor Leafs....stuck with Clarkson...who can't beat a 22 yr old skilled and soft defenseman.

Posted by Leafs2006 on February 16, 2015 at 01:07 PM

Wow Clarkson, youre a waste of 5 million a year, just think what Fatdog could do with that money, probably size up one in T Shirt size to a " Goodyear" size......retire Clarkson, please

Posted by tpr1960 on February 15, 2015 at 08:36 AM

Clarkson gets beat by a Hab with alot of vowels in his name, take Clarkson out back and shoot him, oh and Gonchar is an old dog too, nice hit.

Posted by Amerkfan8 on February 14, 2015 at 11:06 PM

The fight has a draw, but the bigger question is what the hell was Clarkson doing?

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 19, 2015 at 12:53 AM

Love that hit by Clarckson... That's good tough hockey. Unfortunately, he gave up on the fight prematurely. He seemed to have Bealiue in hand but just stopped. He should have taught the young man a lesson not to stick his nose where it didn't belong, but instead he just let it fizzle.

Posted by kari takko on February 17, 2015 at 12:41 AM

Clarkson...still a dick.

Posted by bigdog2007 on February 15, 2015 at 03:10 PM

Hahahahahaha. Leafs suck. Clarkson sucks. Laffs2006 sucks

Posted by lupien on February 14, 2015 at 11:43 PM

Beaulieu with the slight edge.

Posted by SidKid87 on February 18, 2015 at 08:38 PM

Embarrassing display by "le brigade de viseur" Takes the cue from brenda in the art of hanging on for refs to save the day shame on the logo de toilet seat

Posted by pepsigenerate on February 14, 2015 at 08:46 PM

Beaulieu with the quick left jab after the right that staggers Clarkson. Winner Nathan Beaulieu.

Posted by DanHalen on February 16, 2015 at 02:31 PM

no real punches landed but high marks for Beaulieu for standing up for Gonchar. Typical move by Clarkson the coward

Posted by ironbar44 on February 14, 2015 at 08:26 PM

no respect for CLARKSON

Posted by legion31 on February 14, 2015 at 09:06 PM

Clarkson is an idiot !

Posted by Happy2 on February 15, 2015 at 11:23 AM

Clarkson is a POS. Winner Beaulieu.

Posted by Eurocanuck on February 16, 2015 at 09:19 AM

Beaulieu connects with at least one good one.

Posted by canamrugby on February 15, 2015 at 12:52 AM

Beaulieau, a pacifist, gets the moral victory for surviving (with visor) against an overrated Leaf that supposedly knows how to fight; turns out Clarkson sucks at that as well.

Posted by dcmac on February 15, 2015 at 11:13 AM

Beaulieu

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on February 15, 2015 at 06:58 PM

the hab

Posted by wooof on February 15, 2015 at 12:23 AM

Clarkson is a jerk , the worst contract of the NHL .

Posted by Silent Partner on February 15, 2015 at 08:12 AM

Clarkson's has been watching from the rafters for a while and now his pent up energy will get him suspended, I think this guy makes $5 million a year. Probably the the most $ per minute played in the NHL. A tie!

Posted by jerry s on February 16, 2015 at 06:31 AM

I looked at the hit a few times and looked to me that Clarkson let up on the hit beaulieu jumped in good for him

Posted by doobi1 on February 15, 2015 at 01:54 AM

Beaulieu came on strong in the beginning and went tit for tat at the end for the win.

Posted by Stone55555 on February 14, 2015 at 08:09 PM

Good for Beaulieu fir jumping in to support Gonchar. Cheap headshot by Clarkson. Beaulieu wins a close fight!

Posted by kingpaolo on February 15, 2015 at 03:45 PM

wow Clarkson such a dud now woah

Posted by laurhjew on February 19, 2015 at 02:34 PM

Beaulieu won that fight cleanly, he did this for his teammate so I have even more respect for him. Great fight from the habs rookie

Posted by Ed Van Impe on February 16, 2015 at 07:27 AM

Clarkson knew it was coming and should have drilled Beaulieu ... not sure how you all had Beaulieu winning this fight ... maybe an eye exam is in order ... draw

Posted by kkdowning on February 16, 2015 at 10:15 AM

Say what you will (and he has been a bust), at least Clarkson tries . . . Oh, and the fight I will give it a draw as Clarkson had some balance issues. Not sure that was a bid hit that led to the fight.

Posted by Ozzieboy on February 15, 2015 at 07:50 PM

clarkson...hands down. Just like their playoff future this year.....Habs out in 1st round

Posted by kpollock on February 14, 2015 at 08:41 PM

I hate that hit by Clarkson. It was dirty.

Posted by flyerguy on February 15, 2015 at 07:43 AM

Clarkson...Typical Leaf player. Overrated and dirty

Posted by bramiam@aol.com on February 14, 2015 at 10:24 PM

Wasn't a bad or dirty hit, grow up people! Cant believe he got 5 friggin minutes for that. Clarkson took a run at Gonchar, and Beaulieu did a good job stepping up and letting Clarkson know he didn't like it. Unlike my Bruins lately, it set a good tone. Good fair tough fight, let the boys play. Gave it a draw

Posted by Dijo on February 14, 2015 at 10:34 PM

Hit = OK Fight = Draw Clarkson = Not worth the money, but at least trying to do something in this game

Posted by AxlRose91 on February 15, 2015 at 09:07 AM

Nice clean hit by Clarkson sparks this bout. After getting jumped, he quickly gains composure and lands a couple a very nice shots. Easy win for Clarkson
