Alright guys, this one makes me a bit sad. Flyers down 4-0, and the heart of our team Ryan White takes on the tough guy. Could've tried Mackenzie or the other scrappy guy, but he obliged the veteran Thorton and gets tuned up good. Problem is, he didn't get a good grip at all and got stunned immediately. It's not looking good for my flyers. Though, it's looking great in my trousers. Win Thornton. No contest. Good day gentlemen Ps, I would like to add that as tough as I believe Ryan white is, he can make plays. Flyers need to sign an enforcer to take care of business and keep white on the 3rd line trying to make plays.

Thornton shows he still has it, even if the fight was less than exhilarating.

Thornton whooped Whites ass plain and simple. Then again, White ain't no John Scott!

Posted by boldbilly on October 11, 2015 at 08:12 AM

Give it to the big dummy who has 30 lbs on White... He still hits when people are down the same tactics made him a hero in Boston Win Thornton

Posted by sixclocks on October 31, 2015 at 09:53 AM

thornton better hope he does not fight someone who is tough. retire before you get hurt. next time fight a tough guy.

Posted by Behn Wilson on October 11, 2015 at 01:14 AM

As expected... and despite the excessive grappling... Thornton basically tunes - slash - exposes... White

Posted by EK65 on October 11, 2015 at 02:48 AM

All Thornton here but, hey props to White for stepping up to the plate. Down 4-0 had to try something.

Posted by callum on October 11, 2015 at 08:58 AM

Honest effort from two honest guys. Edge thornton

Posted by mckendo83 on October 15, 2015 at 08:56 AM

Thorton wins but, white turns the season around with this fight... taking on a tough guy... i'm sure all you penguins fans remember "shhhhhhhhhhhhhh" well. flyers are 2-0 after this game

Posted by Ripper20 on October 14, 2015 at 12:24 PM

It looked like White was going to be no match for Thor at the beginning, but he held his own until Shawn got loose and landed a couple good shots. Clear win for Thornton.

Yet rosehill sits in Lehigh , unreal flyers

Posted by rocky 1 on October 11, 2015 at 07:20 PM

Close fight up till the end when Thornton takes over with a few punches that appeared to hurt white.Boston fans just can not believe that Thornton,s days are done.White is at best an average middleweight not some big strong heavy.Thornton should retire with his rep as a top 10 heavy still somewhat intact!

A washed up Thornton with the victory over White. Doesn't say much for poor White.

Posted by soupyfly on October 11, 2015 at 05:09 PM

Atta Boy Shawn...Still look weird in a Florida Jersey thou where you at Boston bring him back....

Posted by mudman55 on October 14, 2015 at 11:49 AM

Props to White for trying to get his team going, but that uppercut clearly hurt him. He was done after that.

Posted by English_Bruin on October 11, 2015 at 05:21 AM

Like the Shawn Thornton beatdowns of the past. He looked good here, had mean intentions, perhaps White spilled his pint in the bar beforehand.

Posted by slysi on October 18, 2015 at 04:12 PM

Thornton is not somebody to try and bulldog ....White found that out

Posted by first 6 on October 11, 2015 at 10:04 PM

Thornton can still throw em.

Posted by bigmike53 on October 11, 2015 at 12:36 AM

White trying to inspire his guys and asks Thornton for a go. Thornton accepts and they exchange a few shots and go into the spin cycle. Thornton keeps his composure going under and over and taking this scrap between two wiling combatants.

Posted by sedge47 on October 11, 2015 at 09:35 AM

Alright, who told White he was hard enough to fight Thornton? That was a bit unfair.

Posted by scotteden11 on October 13, 2015 at 11:58 PM

Thornton from start to finish on this one. Nice finishing blow to boot.

Posted by Flyersfan89 on October 11, 2015 at 07:18 AM

Good for white to step up and try and spark the team just no match for Thornton too big and strong too much experience

Posted by Jordybats99 on December 16, 2016 at 01:14 PM

Win Thornton.

Posted by laus3 on October 11, 2015 at 10:25 PM

Glad to see Thornton came out and did his role as the Panther enforcer. Pretty easy fight for him. Rematch tomorrow in Philly. Florida whooped their asses 7-1 last night!

Posted by DuckHawk on October 10, 2015 at 08:43 PM

All Thornton, too strong. Looks like he dropped a few pounds and was happy to oblige. Good sign for him in what could be his last year! Good on White, good future ahead for a scrappy guy that can play.

Posted by flyerguy on October 11, 2015 at 10:10 AM

Still trying to figure out why White is on this team.

Posted by NickG on October 13, 2015 at 09:41 PM

Good to see the old pro take care of biz. Hope he picks his spots this year, and actually throw punches against guys like White. Then just tie up the bigger better ones. That was his MO during his last year in Boston. We still miss him. W for the old pro ST.

Posted by doobi1 on October 11, 2015 at 10:59 AM

Started out pretty even until the until the Square Dance music started to play. White was trying to get his team going, but Thornton got a few good poppers in, and wibble wobbled White down to the ice for the WIN.

Posted by Titzmgee on October 13, 2015 at 11:34 PM

Thorny still kickin a$$

Posted by fightingiswrong on January 28, 2016 at 10:05 PM

It was close most of the way, but after he took that uppercut toward the end- Ryan White had no idea where he was.

Posted by Otto_maddux on October 18, 2015 at 01:12 AM

Wasn't even close. Who the shit voted for White???

Posted by F_CKERS on October 11, 2015 at 07:04 PM

All Thornton. Okay, White got a few in, but the upper cuts did him in.

Posted by the kid 61 on October 12, 2015 at 08:59 AM

Shawn made him look like betty white, no contest.

Posted by Cruncher on October 13, 2015 at 12:05 AM

Thornton as always a pig till the end! He can't help himself. Can't give him the win due to the punches he threw when it was clearly over. That is unless one linesman holding both White's arms means fire away. He's worthless and I expect he won't finish the season in the NHL and if were luck some young buck in the AHL will knock him out of hockey for good

Posted by MuttRanger on October 19, 2015 at 10:09 PM

White took as much of a beating in this fight as the Flyers did in the game - in both instances lopsided from the outset. Thornton's uppercuts were brutal - I was there live and had a great vantage point to see that first one.

Posted by DARCY T on October 11, 2015 at 11:42 AM

white was willing but only to drop his gloves.thornton took control from there.white just tried not to get hit..win thornton in a crap fight...i gave it a 3

Posted by Gunslinger on October 14, 2015 at 09:07 AM

Posted by Mounty in NC on October 13, 2015 at 11:21 AM

All Thornton in this one

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on October 12, 2015 at 03:13 PM

Good see Thornton still dropping um, decent bout

Posted by kkdowning on October 11, 2015 at 09:43 PM

Ryan White was outclassed in this one. The uppercut towards the end could not have felt good.

Posted by travist on October 13, 2015 at 02:49 PM

white is no match for thorny...who had a nice comfy home for his upper cuts.

Posted by Ed Van Impe on October 13, 2015 at 11:41 AM

five years ago White would have ended up in the ICU ...

Posted by moneybags on October 11, 2015 at 03:09 AM

Good to see ole buddy Shawn still throwin em ...we miss you in Beantown

Posted by Great Murray on October 11, 2015 at 12:03 PM

While his Bruins are getting shoved around the NHL...this old boy teaches a youngster how to fight on ice...all Thorny.

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on October 11, 2015 at 12:23 AM

Man I miss Shawn F'n Thornton. They don't get much tougher and isn't he pushing 40 at this point? Guy is an absolute animal and wins this no contest. Suck a dick Brooksy.

Posted by Daysofcoleco on October 11, 2015 at 10:38 AM

Can you imagine the apoplectic crybaby suckface from Thornton if he got punched while on his knees?

Posted by Brooksy on October 10, 2015 at 08:50 PM

Thorts ought to be ashamed .....he pulled up on the leg got him way off balance and uppercut while he was on one knee.....time to retire if your class is exchanged for a win
