Win McQuaid, clearly, that last punch was as flush as they come, be shocked of Martin does not have a concussion, but the visor thing is soooo weak You can count at least 3 heavy shots that hit right-upper corner of visor (from Martin's point of view - from his right hands), that just bounce off. No visor and this is a different fight, but McQuaid is just following the rules, can't fault him

Posted by BruinsAllDaySon on February 04, 2017 at 09:20 PM

Wow Martin was winning that fight, until he very much wasn't winning that fight. McQuaid with the TKO & and gave it an 8 for length and intent to injure. Thanks refs!

Posted by Danbo1964 on February 05, 2017 at 03:23 PM

I get the visor talk but Martin jumped off the bench and challenged McQuaid, knowing very well that McQuaid was wearing a visor. Not to mention that a fresh Martin challenged McQuaid towards the end of Adam's shift. The Lone Wolf strikes again.....

Posted by ironbar44 on February 04, 2017 at 09:15 PM

fight of the year. ko ends it .MARTIN was ahead but no longer after hte overhand right that was square

Posted by 7ate0 on February 04, 2017 at 10:38 PM

Martin sent out to retaliate the clean hit on Matthews, and in the end justice is served with a KO punch right on the chin. Both showed up and gave it their all, great to see!

Posted by sedinfan on February 04, 2017 at 11:23 PM

Martin was starting to get owned and his stubbornness to try to recover from his mangled ear ends up with a knockdown shot to the jaw. McQuaid is a tough beast except when the linesmen help his opponent.

Posted by Scorpan on February 05, 2017 at 12:32 AM

Holy Crap...what a tilt! That was old school rock em sockem robots...Decisive win Quaider :-)

Posted by Dess on February 05, 2017 at 10:28 AM

I'm gonna call the visor a wash given that McQuaid was clearly mid-shift. Should have been an instigator if we are all being honest. Great fight. I love hockey!

Posted by FHgrad99 on February 05, 2017 at 05:13 PM

Welcome to the list of fight of the year contenders gentlemen. These two were throwing them with cruel intentions. Some bombs were landed and McQuaid and the fans of hockey fights were both winners in this one. Glad the referees didn't step in before the fight was decided. I'll give this a 9.

Posted by jlmcgui on February 12, 2017 at 08:44 AM

Great fight, McQuaid is only wearing a visor because of the job(s) that the refs did in his Carrier fight (remember, they held his hands down while Carrier landed 3-4 head shots). McQuaid was NOT (obviously) wearing a visor that day and only wears it now while his eye heals. As for the tilt, great bout, sorry I missed it live, Martin and McQuaid exchanging shots, until Adam puts Martin down ... and there was no "linesman interference on either side".

Posted by hubofhockey on February 04, 2017 at 11:33 PM

Martin jumps off the bench to get Mcquaid knowing full well he wears a visor because he almost lost his eye to a puck... McQuaid at the end of his shift withstands the early blows from Martin and knocks him the fk out.....

Posted by dgeary109 on January 28, 2021 at 04:37 AM

McQuaid does not get enough credit for how good of a fighter he is. Boston could have used his toughness this year.

Posted by hughcares on February 05, 2017 at 09:42 AM

Come on McQueer doesn't have to wear the visor - doesn't fall under those rules. If you want to be a tough guy and have the option take it off. Thornton and Lucy leave the team and leave the heavy lifting to McQueer and he throws a visor on

Posted by KentuckyJet on June 20, 2017 at 03:34 PM

One punch won it for McQuaid. The man can hit!

Posted by ethanmay4 on February 04, 2017 at 09:25 PM

Fun bout! I always love to see guys stand up for their teammates, especially stars like Matthews.

Posted by Nystrom_23 on February 07, 2017 at 09:51 AM

Wow! As an Islanders fan, I've seen MM get beaten in fights and even bloodied, but never TKOed as far as I can recall. McQ is my fave non-Islander pugilist. Nice last punch. Feel better MM.

McQuaid with the win- a pretty pussy move by McQuaid, though, to not loosen is straps

Pussies fight with VISORS

Posted by whalen on February 09, 2017 at 11:01 AM

I was watching this game on HNIC,tuned in just in time for this one, good old school fight, gotta love "LONE WOLF" McQuaid...plays his whole shift makes his hits,MARTIN .AKA." BRAD PITTS HOCKEY DOPPLEGANGER"jumps off the bench wants to scrap, and gets out lasted and out punched.

Posted by demolition on February 05, 2017 at 12:32 AM

visor or no visor ... plain and simple a great scrap. all of you would of could of should of theorists shut up ... it didn't , martin didn't knock the visor off so it don't matter... still a great scrap

Posted by realrichardmove on February 05, 2017 at 12:27 AM

Posted by hipchecker20 on February 05, 2017 at 04:04 PM

Lone Wolf McQuaid does it again!

Posted by The Peach on February 06, 2017 at 05:07 PM

That's a dandy. McQuaid has been in my top ten faves for some time. He's no Brett Gallant, but he brings an A fight game and willingness to chuck every time.

Posted by BennyD on February 06, 2017 at 09:30 AM

Classic tilt. AM with the edge after landing the finishing right. Just like Gazdic, AM could take a punch. Good on Martin for for going after him, even though the hit was clean.

Posted by pmarz1 on February 08, 2017 at 07:58 AM

Time to clean up the site and kick out any douche bag that call this a draw or win for Martin. As for the visor whining, pretty sure it didn't drop Martin like a rock.....

Posted by BooSanta on February 05, 2017 at 05:05 PM

Back and forth bombs. Martin had the edge, until a brutal McRight decides it. The sauce came from the helmet flying off M+M's head earlier. Fight of the year in a thin field.

Posted by rocky 1 on February 06, 2017 at 12:22 AM

Wow highest that I have scored a fight in 2 years.I did not know if McQuaid could hang with Martin and man was I wrong.Martin was having problems with McQuaids reach and he really got smacked with a couple of good ones. One that broke his nose and one that set him on his ass. If Toronto wants to protect Matthews they should trade New jersey for Luke Gazdic! Much cheaper than Martin and a lot better fighter! Briggsy calm down young man! McQuaid is not the toughest guy in the league, He is not even the toughest guy on his team. A.K.a. Chara!

Posted by Beach Bums on February 07, 2017 at 01:34 PM

One of the most solid right-hand punches I have ever seen. GREAT camera work! Martin was bringing it to him until McQuaid brought out the hammer. Just a great fight.

Posted by theryfan on February 04, 2017 at 10:10 PM

One of the best fights of the year! Great fight for both guys, but McQuaid wins with the cuts and the KO.

Posted by scituguy on February 05, 2017 at 12:19 AM

Great fight trading blow for blow for the first half with Marting getting in 2 solid blows and McQuaid working a number of great jabs. Once the helmet came off though, Martin got into trouble and McQuaid ended it like you want a heavyweight bout to end. Knockout!

Posted by Patey16 on February 05, 2017 at 01:46 PM

Great tilt with a fresh Martin eating a hard punch from McQuaid who was at the end of a hard shift

Posted by Gbuck18 on February 05, 2017 at 03:26 PM

Favorite fight in a long time.

Posted by the kid 61 on February 06, 2017 at 03:43 PM

Great fight by two tuff kids. pretty even until the punch to the jaw. Martin needs to grow back his hair and ditch the girly cut he has. Samson lost his strength after his hair was cut. Laugh out loud...

Posted by boatman on February 05, 2017 at 09:13 AM

Great fight, with respect to the visor thing, its like entering the ring with one dude wearing 12oz gloves and the other bare knuckled.....just sayin

Posted by spiderlakeDave on February 08, 2017 at 01:34 AM

Looks like Martin was wearing down after a long scrap and then boom out go the lights. KO McQuaid. Great fight.

Posted by Engine801 on August 19, 2017 at 01:33 PM

Started out pretty much even, until Mc Quaid connects with a right at 0:42 knocking Martin's helmet off and finally dropping Martin with a right at the 59 second mark.

Posted by Ithinkthere4Iam on February 06, 2017 at 03:54 PM

Good win by Quaider, but it looked like Martin wanted to stop just before the final jaw shot.

Posted by dankvwguy on February 05, 2017 at 03:26 AM

great fight. both guys got a few good hits in then mcquaid finished it with a strong one.

Posted by UberTater on February 07, 2017 at 06:59 AM

Easily the fight of the year. They were both swinging for the fences. McQuaid gets the win.

Posted by budash on February 07, 2017 at 06:01 PM

I though it was close until the last 3 punches. Keeping your helmet on is the best protector in a fight, once it's gone you present a much bigger target. Well done by both guys to make a statement here.

Darth Quaid gets the knockout on Martin. Both guys land some big ones. Martin is one of the toughest guys in the NHL but McQuaid just gets the better of him here. All in all, this is easily one of the best fights of the year.

Posted by jaymoneez on February 05, 2017 at 01:01 PM

McQuaid is a McCoward. Those of you saying he is required to wear the visor are talking out of your a**es. He has the option not to wear one. If you're going to wear a giant shield, be a man and take the penalty for removing your lid, or get your opponent to agree to a mutual removal. Otherwise, quit pu**ying out by taking runs at stars like Matthews and hiding behind your shield.

Posted by ocrighton on February 05, 2017 at 03:42 PM

Either play without the visor or take off your damn helmet.

Posted by beantown on February 04, 2017 at 10:24 PM

Do yourself a favor and go look for the gif of that last punch. Hard to believe Matty's head stayed on.

Posted by Mounty in NC on February 05, 2017 at 06:45 AM

Definitely best fight of the year but I'm only giving it a 7. Lost a lot of respect for McQuaid as he caved to wearing a visor. This fight definitely could have gone a different way if McQuaid didn't wear a visor. I had Martin winning until the helmet came off Notice there are only ever around 15 votes for all fights except when a Bruins wins the fight and then we end up with over 50 votes

Posted by flanagon on February 04, 2017 at 09:35 PM

What with McQuaid and the visor?

Posted by goody72 on February 04, 2017 at 10:02 PM

Great fight! Edge to McQuaid for knockdown. The NHL needs more fights like this.

Posted by unfunny on February 06, 2017 at 11:33 AM

Martin was winning on connects until he got caught square. TKO McQuaid. Someone should invent a visor that can be quickly removed for fights.

Posted by forbull on February 05, 2017 at 11:05 PM

Ohhhh that was real! HS!

Posted by PantherPete on February 05, 2017 at 07:00 PM

So when there's a legit reason for Jack Edwards to go nuts, he's mellow. WTF? Easily the best fight of the season. Two respected bad ass mofo's (minus Bruin haters, of course) take us back to yesteryear. **Sigh** McQuaid AND Chara on the same team just doesn't seem fair.

Posted by gmr133 on February 06, 2017 at 12:17 PM

Is there a way to turn off stupid announcers? THAT was a fight. Clean hit. McQuaid wins.

Posted by Bruins1337 on February 05, 2017 at 08:49 AM

Great fight here, no defense required. Can y'all Bruins haters just admit a win for once, how did anyone vote this a Martin victory?

Posted by WhyGo77 on February 04, 2017 at 09:43 PM

Great fight.

Posted by Andyl12 on February 05, 2017 at 01:15 AM

Great fight although I think Martin thought the zebras would step in before got decked. McQuaids fights this year have pretty much been high quality all along with him coming out on top.

Posted by onthebutton on February 05, 2017 at 02:49 PM

The way the refs have been jumping in early all year, I think Martin may have thought they were going to do so before he ate that last punch. Lesson learned. I give him credit though, he hung in there with Quaider and obviously has a strong jaw.

Posted by retired2006 on February 15, 2017 at 03:49 PM

Dear the Maple Leaf fans for voted for Matt Martin, , You will always be losers, eh Sincerely, Everyone else who voted

Posted by kotalikmyballs on February 04, 2017 at 10:27 PM

I admit it... I'm a bit of a Boston homer. But I think even a Boston hater should acknowledge that McQuaid is legit. I like Martin, too. However, Martin came off the bench to fight McQuaid who was mid shift, and ended up getting buckled. W for 54

Posted by ChuckinKnuckles on February 06, 2017 at 06:46 PM

Wow, best scrap I've seen in a long while. AM with clear win. 8. For those that voted for Martin, I am really confused. I thought the idea was to vote for the guy that won the fight, not the fighter that absorbed the most punishment. If that's the criteria, Martin wins in a landslide.

Posted by kaywonathon on February 07, 2017 at 07:00 PM

Does Martin's split-open ear count as a TKO?

Posted by English_Bruin on February 06, 2017 at 01:39 PM

Was pretty even untill the end then Quaider issues the appropriate beatings. Martin did well, fair play to him.

Posted by oakdaddy on February 06, 2017 at 10:55 AM

McQuaid always willing though usually not impressive completely dominated. Martin leaking by the ear and looked really hurt by that last solid punch.

Posted by DARCY T on February 06, 2017 at 05:33 AM

whoa, what a comeback by mcquaid.i thought martin is in for easy win when he landed 3-4 unanswered rights early also having in mind that martin was frensh of the bench and almost knoked mcquaid down at one point.all mcquaid's punches came short and i expected he would protect the lead with his stiff arm technique but mcquaid found the way to fight back and to tko martin eventually.martin was also bleeding from behind his ear

Posted by ruck on February 05, 2017 at 11:40 AM

OUCH! Always nice to see an Islander, or in this case ex Islander, take a whooping!

Posted by Zavesa on February 08, 2017 at 05:29 AM

McQuaid, even though swinging less, connected more punches including the last one at the perfect moment when Martin peeked over his own shoulder. But like I have said before, I hate what the NHL is coming to with fights in retaliation for clean hits. That is complete BS.

Posted by omorales on February 05, 2017 at 12:30 AM

Who voted for Martin?

Posted by Jellyczar on February 04, 2017 at 11:00 PM

FOTY .... Martin looking much better than many fights from earlier this season, but McQuaid just didn't give in and landed the last huge bomb that sent it over the top ... gave it a 9

Posted by floater1 on February 05, 2017 at 05:26 PM

One of the best fights of the year so far. Great give and take by these 2. Lone Wolf with the KO at the end.

Posted by Jesticle on February 05, 2017 at 04:24 PM

Holy shlt! Martin got knocked the clock out! Maybe karma coming back to him after jumping a tiny Canuck rookie earlier in the season...

Posted by jnk07899 on February 05, 2017 at 01:37 AM

Both dudes do well here. It's kind of a bummer that the officials creeping in may have caused Martin to become a bit more vulnerable. The drop at the end obviously gets Mcquaid the W and a 9. But Martin did well.

Posted by MickMan on February 16, 2017 at 11:41 PM

Posted by slysi on February 09, 2017 at 03:11 PM

GOOD scrap ...especially for the NHL .Maybe Gary Bettman realizes than fans do like some dukes with their game ? It is like having a sandwich WITH a bowl of soup ...they compliment each other ! Something made the ZEBRAS hold off from jumping in to stop the fight ?

Posted by rinkrat38 on February 05, 2017 at 09:31 AM

Martin was ahead on points until McQuaid punched his helmet off. KO of Martin at the end on a huge right cross. He never made it to the penalty box. Funny watching Martin's hair stand up straight after that huge punch. How did Martin not get an instigator and coming off the bench to fight? Not that McQuaid would say 'no', but others are called for that pretty regularly.

Posted by jerry s on February 06, 2017 at 05:30 AM

good long bout the refs didn't jump in early mcquaid with the ending shots

McQuaid easily...although I missed when he knocked Martin’s “head” off as the announcer proclaimed. I see the Boston announcers are no different than they were in the 80s - huge homers and tough to listen to if you’re not rooting for Boston or even indifferent. Derek Sanderson was the worst hockey broadcaster on planet earth.

Posted by VinnyVile on April 01, 2018 at 03:40 PM

That last shot from McQuaid was such a blast that even I felt it where I was sitting. Ouuuuch.

Posted by Keepyerheadup on September 05, 2018 at 03:49 AM

Linesman was in too close and distracting Martin when that thunderous right came in. Great fight but terrible officiating.

Hell of a fight.... that last punch by 'Lone Wolf' might be the best punch I've seen all year. It flat ROCKED Martin, who is a very tough and durable boy. Personally, I'd like to see the players lose their lids before starting a bout.

martin at the beginning but McQuaid out fights him towards the end and finishes Martin for the TKO win. I got this to say....McQuaid is a great fighter. Yes he is, but come on Man, loose the fuckin visor and quit hiding behind it......makes you look like a pussy. And he is clearly not a pussy.

Posted by AxlRose91 on February 05, 2017 at 09:10 AM

Martin controls the fight, and lands more heavy shots. McQuaid gets a cheap one in at the end, after they appear to mutually agree that the fight is over. But outside of that, it's domination by the superior, non-visor wearing fighter. Easy win Martin

Posted by Tuf tuf on February 05, 2017 at 06:49 AM

Cheap shot after ref break from Adam "visor" McQuaid. Martin for the easy win, a great 8 fight.

Posted by JoeCritter on February 10, 2017 at 03:07 AM

A seriously epic win for the visor. Couldn't have done it without it. Visor for MVP (Most Valuable Pugilist). An 8.7 though? Man, some of us sure are desperate for violence.

Posted by boldbilly on February 05, 2017 at 08:39 AM

Before I say anything about this fight I want to give acknowledgement to that idiot shitzmagoo ......he exemplifies everything that is wrong with this site, but it's nice to see that there are still some who come here for the fight videos and to vote and post sanely..... Now to whats important......this certainly has been the fight of the year so far, with Adam McQuaid as the clear winner....I scored this at 9 ......sadly though there has to be an asterisk beside this win for the Visor..... Before I start hearing it from the Bruin faithful , let's be clear Adam McQuaid doesn't .... A) Need to hide behind one he's fully capable without a visor B) Play the style he does with one on. We all heard that he had an eye injury and that's why he is wearing it, I get it when you have a million dollar career at stake it's probably the wise thing to do...however It's easy to throw bombs with reckless abandon while wearing a visor, it is a huge advantage, the bombs that rattled off the visor from Martin had little or no effect, in fact they both should have been bleeding.... In spite of what shitzmagoo says here most people habs fans included vote for as they see the fight....I saw this as a McQuaid victory, but again with a huge advantage.......If McQuaid wants to continue to wear that visor for the safety of his career....so be it....but I'll end it with this.... He can't be taken seriously as the heavyweight champ while he wears it sorry when your as big as he is and throw like he does, you can't enjoy that safety element and or advantage.... Big win for McQuaid Big EPIC loss for Shitmagoo.......and while we are at it Jack " he knocked his head off " Edwards who never even mentions the visor advantage

The problem for the Leafs is that Martin is an agitator, not really a fighter. Certainly not a heavyweight. If the Leafs really feel they need to protect Matthews, they'll need a bit more meat. But what do I care, I hate the Leafs.

Posted by Jez-x on February 04, 2017 at 09:11 PM

McQuaid corrals Matthews(cleanly)and Martin comes in on his high horse and ends up with blood on the saddle, get along little doggy.

Posted by Ullger88 on February 06, 2017 at 12:17 AM

I have to go Martin on this one. That visor is absolute bs. If you want to fight don't wear a visor . Way different fight if he doesn't have this on with those shits he would have took. Bitch move. Martin clearly thinks the linesman comes in and stops the fight as well. Rematch wit no visor , martin would destroy this dude

Posted by terrystanjohn on February 04, 2017 at 09:28 PM

McQuaid all offense, can take a punch and can certainly throw them. Kudos to Martin for hanging in

Posted by dtronics on February 05, 2017 at 12:38 PM

Fight of the year! Bombs landed all over the place. Darth Quaider with a serious TKO. Save your "visor" comments... Martin got rocked!

Posted by The Mad House on February 07, 2017 at 10:40 PM

This was a dandy Easily fight of the year But an 8.7? Come on guys...

Posted by SouthPaw017 on February 04, 2017 at 09:37 PM

This is what you expect from McQuaid when he's not in a zebra straight jacket. Martin had a strong start, and again, McQuaid shows his chin after taking a few flush... Things went downhill for Martin right at the point his freshly cut Flow-Bee doo cover went flying... You got some blue cheese for my cauliflower (ear)!!!! Who? What? Say that again?

Posted by briggsy on February 05, 2017 at 09:45 AM

McQuaid may be the toughest guy in the league. He threw some hard punches in this fight. Martin tried but he was hit very hard. The only thing I would like to see is McQuaid lose the visor..........but man he is tough!!

Posted by joedog on February 06, 2017 at 07:22 AM

...Great fight..one tough guy one Visor boy...and yes the visor means everything...Martin tough as nails pops up.. heads off for ear repairs from the helmet cutting ear/ popping off... Anyone thinking a visored fighter isn't protected think again....the opponent has to fire trying to find unprotected face... "THE VISOR IS EVERYTHING AND MCBUBBLEHEAD new it" ...Good fighters have to find away around VISOR ...Cudos to Martin a code fighter ..fighting a non code fighter....Definately a cheap shot by Mcbubblehead with the refs sneaking up but Visor boy took that advantage...you could see the ref saying thats it..Martin let down his guard then.. ...Great fight but the Bubblehead fighter is just that and can't be taken seriously ..its called hiding...Possibly a voting scale showing bubble wrapped fighters is in order....

Posted by jcstokes on February 05, 2017 at 08:26 AM

This is what its all about. Great one. McQuaid.

Crying baby habs fan take Martin for win! McQuaid KO'S martin all the way

Posted by moneybags on February 05, 2017 at 01:18 AM

Its usually not good to mess with McQuaid, as Martin found out...knit one pearl 2 for stitches

Posted by EK65 on February 05, 2017 at 01:30 PM

Fight of the year candidate. It was actually fairly close until the final punch by McQuaid. Great scrap 8 & McQuaid

Posted by The Bud Life on November 01, 2017 at 05:03 PM

I fear we won't see too many more of these, enjoy them now while you can..

Posted by Daysofcoleco on February 05, 2017 at 07:28 AM

You won't see a cleaner punch than that.

Posted by BruinManiac on February 04, 2017 at 09:31 PM

The Loafs should really find someone, who can fight.

Posted by cabsf15e on February 04, 2017 at 11:48 PM

That was "Old Time" hockey right there... best fight thus far in the 16-17 season! McQuaid is 3-0 vs. Martin now, going back to 2011, so not really surprised by the outcome...McQuaid is as tough as anyone in the NHL, and he proved it right there vs. a very worthy opponent. Great fight boys!!

Posted by bruins34 on February 05, 2017 at 07:37 AM

Great fight. The length of the bout, the skill of the two guys involved, punches thrown with really bad intentions......damn. Gave it a 10 and McQuaid with the TKO.

Posted by bramiam@aol.com on February 04, 2017 at 11:15 PM

Mano a Mano. One of the best fights in a long time. Two tough hombres!

Posted by hkhk on February 05, 2017 at 09:34 AM

Ahh miss this, fight of year no doubt ..

Posted by offsides on February 05, 2017 at 04:08 AM

Close tilt. Chicken shit refs didn´t do their job at the end of the match because they were too afraid of eating one otherwise it would have been a draw. No way, McQuaid should have been able to land that last cheap shot. Both boys did well.

Posted by fernben8 on February 04, 2017 at 09:53 PM

Wow ! Had me at the edge of my seat. Thought Martin may have eased up at the end thinking it was over ?! FOTY so far....gave it a 9. Would love to have anyone of these guys as a HAB !

Posted by toy boy dan on February 04, 2017 at 09:40 PM

Hey, finally something to cheer about McQuaid got in the last one, Bs will be watching from home when the play-offs start!

Posted by Titzmgee on February 05, 2017 at 07:11 PM

bold bill and the rest of you bruin hating bitches.... THIS IS GONNA STING A LITTLE!!!! FIGHT OF THE NIGHT, FIGHT OF THE YEAR !!!!!!!!! LIKE MY BOY JACK SAID HE KNOCKED HIS HEAD OFF!!!! SUCK THAT BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Great Murray on February 05, 2017 at 06:27 AM

WOW! FOY right now. Both throwing bombs and landing plenty. Edwards actually with a decent fight call...his first ever. Martin was doing fine until Quaider caught him with 3 overhand rights in a row. McQuaid had the win sewed up as it looked like Martin was done before the last big punch that TKO'd him. DOUBLE WOW!

Posted by tomthescrew on February 04, 2017 at 10:20 PM

Martin was in need of some humbling. And at no time was Martin winning the fight

Posted by AZfromNJ on February 05, 2017 at 10:44 AM

Great scrap. Even fight until the late TKO by McQ

Posted by ChazStrummer on February 04, 2017 at 11:49 PM

McQuaid knocks Martin's block off.

Posted by FaxCap on February 05, 2017 at 12:14 AM

McQuaid drops Martin. Martin was cut even before he got bombed.

Posted by von_swine on February 04, 2017 at 10:57 PM

FANTASTIC slugfest that goes back-forth before McQuaid obliterates his worthy opponent with that nuclear right hand. FOTY so far.. #54 FTW

Posted by bigmike53 on February 04, 2017 at 11:25 PM

FOTY candidate here. Both guys swinging for the fences until McQuaid pops off Martin's helmet and lands a bomb to end the scrap! TKO McQuaid.

Posted by Dukes Leafs on February 04, 2017 at 09:31 PM

Once again the visor wins. Starting to think McQuicky may be the same as the Oilers chicken shit.

Posted by Humper on February 04, 2017 at 10:34 PM

The longer that went on, the lower Martin's chances of staying upright dropped. And it went on for a goodly amount of time.

Posted by giantsfrey on February 05, 2017 at 03:33 AM

Looked like they both landed some great ones, but McQuaid cut Martin bad when he knocked the helmet off, I think, and the finishing blow sealed the deal. Win for McQuaid. That said, McQuaid got to fight from behind the protection of his visor the entire time. Kinda weaksauce. Also, it seemed that the last blow *may* have been a bit cheap. I thought Martin looked done and anticipated the refs closing in, but McQuaid was not finished and seized the opportunity. Martin must have just been tired as he really left himself open before it was fully over :/

Posted by AlMan42 on February 05, 2017 at 01:28 AM

Enough about the visor unless you also add that Martin comes fresh off the bench to challenge McQuaid who is at the end of a shift. McQuaid has not lost to Martin before, visor or not.

Posted by bigdog2007 on February 04, 2017 at 09:25 PM

Wow. Leafie gets his ass handed to him

Posted by ssully1618 on February 05, 2017 at 12:39 AM

It was an honor to see that scrap in person. Mcquaid is a robot. Played a full shift and then hung in for that whole fight with arguably the toughest enforcer in the current NHL in martin and connected with some solid shots. Martin got some in too but mcquaid hit martin with the moneymaker. Very entertaining.

Posted by arabhata on February 04, 2017 at 09:12 PM

Worth the watch. No doubt

Posted by puckstopper30 on February 04, 2017 at 10:18 PM

Good fight then.... Kapow!....that"s gotta sting No doubt on the winner. Martin bloody and down.

Posted by Lucic_Power on February 04, 2017 at 11:00 PM

Holy Holy Holy Shit, McQuaid holds his own in skill and can also do this. I can understand his contract much more clearly the way hes been going this year.
