Posted by hockeydude on October 16, 2007 at 07:06 PM

this has nothing at all to do with the fight but that steve downie hit 3 weeks ago he shouldn't have got a suspension. why? it was a clean hit except it was huge. flyers suk

These uniforms are so flimsy these guys all look like Rob Ray pre-fightstrap rule, they're in pieces after 4 punches are thrown. These guys all going to look like Razor and Mc Sorley always did in the box, half undressed after a bout. How long before one guy gets a big advantage and really hurts another dude when either his jersey disintegrates and leaves nothing to hold on to or the other guy gets it immediately pulled over his bean leaving him blind?

Tough to score this one. I give it a draw, but if there was a winner it was Redden.

I see we have some dorks on the board again.

I am a Leafs fan and I got to tell you I am a Redden fan would love yo se him wear Blue, This guy knows what it takes to win, now as for the fight got to say draw he got cut but looked like he landed more so good all around.

Posted by leafsfan2028 on October 18, 2007 at 10:25 PM

leafs need to bring back domi to teach these guys how to go. wade landed the better shots

Posted by mike gradzewicz on October 05, 2007 at 08:22 AM

anybody fighting with a visor should receive an extra 2 minutes or a misconduct but then again thats the only way redden has the courage to drop the gloves

Posted by shrk33 on October 06, 2007 at 04:35 PM

Redden, two in a night, wow!

Posted by thekeyholespy on October 04, 2007 at 08:32 AM

redden got cut by bates but. but fed bates several times.

Posted by SCOTTSO on October 05, 2007 at 05:30 AM

close fight reddens flurry at the end tilted fight in his favor

Posted by trpaulson on October 05, 2007 at 12:26 PM

Redden wins. Bates ate too many punches.

Posted by captain goone on October 04, 2007 at 01:10 PM

very close but because i am a sens fan i will give the edge to redden

Posted by siouxfan1 on October 06, 2007 at 06:07 PM

No doubt about it, Redden won the fight!

Posted by Cendro on November 02, 2007 at 12:04 PM

I hate to give the win to Redden with the visor but he landed more quality shots.

Wade Redden vs Bates Battaglia A scrum develops behind the Senators' net, and these two come together and decide to have a go. Each combatant exchanges a couple rights, none doing any damage. Battaglia connects with a solid right, then Redden returns with a solid right, followed by a right uppercut. Redden throws another right, hitting Battaglia's helmet, and the linesmen move in shortly after. Redden skated away bleeding from his forehead, one of Battaglia's punches may caused it.

Decent fight. Redden landed better punches...

Call them as you see the HOMERS...LEAF HOMERS...Redden clean winner in this one and the Sens 2-0 vrs the Laffs.

Posted by micah555 on October 04, 2007 at 10:59 PM

Good for Redden. Way to show heart and be worth the money rather than hide behind it. Mad props.

Posted by mmysmokie on October 06, 2007 at 12:00 AM

Battaglia wishes he had worn a visor.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on October 04, 2007 at 08:31 PM

wade turned it on for the last 30 seconds....... all except 3 of bates shots came up short....

Posted by Chaotic8 on October 05, 2007 at 01:34 AM

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy "Redden has protection from his visor. He should have a game misconduct. winner Battaglia" Are you serious...pull your head out of your rear and realize you CAN'T receive a game misconduct for wearing a visor. Not to mention that although a good scrap Redden CLEARLY had the cleanest of hits not to mention he never quit towards the end. No doubt Redden. And no I'm not a Sens fan.

Decision to Redden, but why would he fight a career minor leaguer?

Posted by Remyy on November 03, 2007 at 01:55 PM

beat battaglia

Posted by bigdude on October 17, 2007 at 03:44 PM

Battaglia thought he was in for a cakewalk when he clearly targetted him. He landed the first few punches, but Redden came back big time. At the end of the bout, Battaglia showed why he is a Leaf.. he backed off when Redden started nailling him.

Posted by docottawa on October 06, 2007 at 10:37 AM

What the heck is going on with redden? Don't see him drop the gloves often. From my viewpoint he easily wins the fight with the four unanswered overhands at the end.

Posted by Juha82 on October 06, 2007 at 04:09 PM

Excellent fight by both, but particularly by Redden(!). He landed a couple in the start, Battaglia got one in. Redden then landed a serious one(best punch of the fight). Battaglia landed a good uppercut. He continued with straight right. But then Redden replied with his flurry of rights. Redden landed more. W.Redden narrow win.

A little blood always makes a fight look better than it actually was.

Posted by The Fang on October 07, 2007 at 11:49 PM

Redden spoon fed Bates a big glass of shut up juice! Nice one.

Posted by plum29 on October 04, 2007 at 08:45 PM

great fight. redden!!! all heart in that scrap by redden. got some, then gave some.

Posted by megnlou06 on October 05, 2007 at 10:06 AM

great fight. I give this one to redden but he does need to take the visor off. I dont think it should be a penalty because the other guy knows he is wearing a visor before the fight,

Posted by Dion_Phaneuf3 on October 05, 2007 at 11:24 AM

great go Redden

Posted by barnibizer on October 05, 2007 at 07:13 AM

Top marks Redden. I have been impressed with Newbury recently, and he kept him quiet then he takes on Battaglia and does a grt job. I loved the flurry of punches at the end from Redden, showed really grit. Can't say how much my respect for Redden has gone up. Think fight was a draw. No real out and out winner. Can't believe some1 gave the edge Redden just becos he's a Sen's fan....no offense, but pls

Posted by Flames9339 on October 05, 2007 at 06:01 PM

Redden did nothing except get lucky that his arms slipped out of his sweater. Even then he threw 2-3 punches and grabbed the back of bates head to try and drag him down. The fight was a draw, Redden lost the first fight (I live in Ottawa and the Sun described it as him "taking it on the chin from Newbury") You Sens fans can praise his effort but he's not beating anyone up.

Posted by Nezky on October 05, 2007 at 05:39 AM

Reddeni on ämmä! He is a beatchee!

Posted by cantstoptherock on October 08, 2007 at 12:05 AM

Bates left him bloodied, thought the clip doesn't show it.

Posted by MNHockey21 on October 05, 2007 at 12:40 AM

Redden won but he wears a visor - so he gets no vote of manliness from me. Take off your lid if you are going to fight when you are wearing a visor.

Posted by Poop Jack Pappy on October 04, 2007 at 10:17 PM

Redden has protection from his visor. He should have a game misconduct. winner Battaglia

Posted by mailman1194 on October 05, 2007 at 12:52 PM

I thought the League was supposed to start cracking down on some of these PUSSIFIED tough guys who like fighting with visors. I see Redden didn't mind trading punches as long as they were deflected. I guarantee if Bates punches hadn't bounced of the shield, Redden would look like the pussy coward he is and turtled. "Great fight,REDDEN! " What a joke. P.S. I think that's why I hate Ottawa. Their fans.
