Draw. Kind of hard to see if a lot of the punches on both sides were effective. Two real tough guys.

The way some of the haters described this fight I was excpecting Cote to be stretchered off. Roy opened up and threw 4 or 5 quick punches and from there on he was in hug mode. Cote managed to get a few shots in throughout the fight. Draw.

Posted by Gunslinger on March 07, 2008 at 09:30 AM

I give it a draw even though Cote did better than I thought he might. Riley landed the first shot and that gave him the upper hand to start the fight.

Posted by jackmcc100 on March 07, 2008 at 08:22 AM

Once again, Cote taking on a heavyweight. People are constantly ripping on him but he is the fighter of the year to date. He takes on everyone and puts on a show.

Posted by Defmincex13 on March 07, 2008 at 01:53 AM

draw, the winner was the next bout

Posted by rihgtcross on March 07, 2008 at 08:18 AM

A good fight, cote landed some good shots but didn't seem to faze Roy. Roy had a good flurry of left hands to the face, I call it a draw.

Posted by Humper on March 07, 2008 at 09:13 AM

I have it Cote for quality and Roy for quantity & take-down = draw.

Posted by Blues 34 on March 07, 2008 at 04:56 PM

Another very good bout involving Riley Cote. You Gotta love this guy.

Posted by Scott4 on March 07, 2008 at 07:19 AM

Draw in the nice bout.

Posted by JOCCOCHRIS on March 07, 2008 at 11:02 AM

Cote had the best punch of the fight and Roy had the best flurry. DRAW

Posted by Flyersfan68 on March 08, 2008 at 10:34 AM

great fight, I rated it a draw but Roy might have gotten the edge. To close to call though

Posted by brad houghton on March 07, 2008 at 09:08 AM

nice battle back and forth with no quit in either guy......i have to call this entertaining fight a draw both guys had their moments!! nicely done!!

Posted by pinkerton on March 07, 2008 at 07:05 PM

Have to admit Cote got the best of Roy

Posted by ETR on March 08, 2008 at 10:55 AM

Good scrap, if I had to pick a winner, i would go with Roy, but it's too close. I have to say draw.

Posted by chl37 on March 07, 2008 at 01:36 PM

draw. cote definitely not the punching bag he was at beginning of season. huge improvement. next year he will be moving up in rankings for sure, though he is nowhere near top division yet. kinda glad the flyers won and thus didnt have to hear whinning about refs and being unlucky in shootouts, etc.

Good fight. Cote early. Roy middle. Even late. Draw.

Posted by goaliefighter on March 07, 2008 at 07:20 AM

Cote got the first few in, Roy followed it up with some good lefts, Cote finished it off with a few good shots before being taken down. Classic Draw in a good bout.

Posted by qmchugh on March 08, 2008 at 01:42 PM

Good back and forth fight some big shots landed by both

Posted by Ragtop1day on March 07, 2008 at 01:49 PM

two guys who look like they know what they are doing...big blasts by both

Posted by Bloodbank on March 09, 2008 at 08:25 AM

Button shot garners a slight edge to Cote.

Posted by Jake98 on March 07, 2008 at 02:32 AM

Very good bout.

Posted by jkluhr on March 07, 2008 at 11:37 AM

Great fight. Draw. Who is the camara man; cuts to the crowd in the middle of a great fight like that come on.

Posted by squish81 on March 07, 2008 at 05:27 PM

Good punches but Roy is very fortunate that Cote didn't get loose. Props to Roy for switching hands though. He was a stiff for the Pens when he played for them and I think the water boy beat his butt in practice once.

Posted by corboy on March 07, 2008 at 01:43 AM

Cote early and late, Roy in the middle. I call it a draw.

Posted by averybear on April 07, 2008 at 11:35 PM

Cote can sure take punches and improves from earlier bouts against Roy.....Cote lands a few early, Roy dominates the middle and Cote comes back at the end with a solid uppercut.......a draw

Posted by tim13 on March 07, 2008 at 09:15 AM

Cote early, Roy in the middle, Cote late. Very solid draw.

Posted by bigmichM on March 07, 2008 at 04:25 PM

A good, close scrap! Both landed some good shots. Have to call it a draw...

Posted by RPULTZ on March 07, 2008 at 01:53 PM

the best punch is when Cote's uppercut that made Roy's head look up into the lights

Posted by Shappa on March 07, 2008 at 04:15 PM

Great fight... It looked for a while like Cote was going to be down and out, but he really came around at the end. One of Roy's better fights I've seen.

Posted by buddha on March 07, 2008 at 06:27 AM

It looked like Cote landed the bigger blows, but Roy landed more. Draw.

Posted by BooSanta on March 07, 2008 at 06:24 PM

Cote looks like he's controlling this. He's got his sister at the game who's strickin with MS so he's gotta win, ya know. But these 2 fought before and Roy is on top of his game to so he get's the left free and homes in with 9, count'em, 9 shots to head and face. So now you gotta think Cote's toast, but no, he's Cote, he dodges a haymaking uppercut and counters with a right, then BOOM! a monster left. So now ya think Roy's spent and dazed, not so fast; Cote's punch was so hard he over compensates, allowing Roy to flip him. One of the broadcasts has Cote mic'd so see if you can get some comments on the fighting. This one was to be their rubber match, but looks like it's a draw. Someone deserves a win out of this; maybe next time, since they got 2 more periods......Mind you Cote is on these sights watching the fights and looking for weaknesses. Roy better roll those sleeves or......(see Round2)

Posted by Muscles on March 07, 2008 at 02:52 PM

Good give and take on that one.

Posted by smwarpig63 on March 07, 2008 at 10:17 PM

I know Roy landed more punches, but Cote knocked him down with the last punch so I have to say Draw.

Posted by railoperator on March 07, 2008 at 11:11 AM

Why didnt andre do this in pittsburgh hes had some pretty good fights since he went back to florida as for cote good fight for a guy that hasnt been winning many this year hes definately alot tougher than eager was good move for philly.

Posted by staceyb on March 07, 2008 at 08:37 AM

Back and forth like rock'em sock'em robots. Roy was in control from midpoint until the end when Cote got in a heavy punch. There is no love lost between these two players. How many times have they fought each other?

Posted by flyersfan_92 on March 07, 2008 at 09:39 AM

Great fight both guys getting some great blows in, those of you who voted for Roy, a take down does not mean a fight win.

Posted by Leafs2006 on March 08, 2008 at 02:39 PM

another great fight by Cote? Phillyfighters? smoke some more of your philadelphia freedom. Cotex lost that scrap, Roy fed him like a puppy in a dog pound. Good win Andre. With Cotex's big head, its hard to miss that target. Even steroids couldnt help Cotex on this scrap

Posted by RonHextal27Fan on March 22, 2008 at 08:24 PM

even though Im a flyers fan I will have to admit that andre roy got the better end of the fight

Posted by blazers76 on March 07, 2008 at 12:11 PM

I thought Roy was the winner in a close bout. Cote landed a couple good shots, but Roy landed a few more. Good fight.

Posted by Formerref on March 08, 2008 at 12:16 PM

Great fight. Roy wins.

Posted by The Peach on March 07, 2008 at 06:34 PM

nice scrap. cote takes too many punches, but he'll work on that.

Posted by OriginalSix on March 07, 2008 at 02:32 PM

Roy wins by the slightest of margins. I never knew Andre had such a big left hand. Cote probably had the harder shots but Andre threw that flurry of left hands and remained active so I give it an EDGE Roy.

Posted by Super Mario 66 on March 08, 2008 at 03:35 PM

Good scrap. Roy landed more.

Posted by Sukoshi84 on March 10, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Win for Roy

Posted by SirYohans on March 08, 2008 at 12:48 AM

I wonder if the announcers might influence the polls on this one. I gave it a Draw but you are not crazy if u argue win for Roy. P.S.-Maybe this is another reason the Flyer fans bring hate out in people. They can't admit Cote might have lost this one. I honestly gave it a Draw because even Riley deserves to have a good day once in a while.

Posted by bigty on March 08, 2008 at 09:00 PM

Andre landed more, and what this feed doesnt show (it decided to watch the crowd) Roy was gassed, and the ref said "let em go", so Roy through a huge right upper cut that missed, and left him open for the last left by Cote.

Posted by K.O.cur_26 on March 07, 2008 at 04:21 AM

WIn Roy in the first fight.

Posted by huddles on March 07, 2008 at 09:09 AM

roy winner landed more in a 4 punch flurry

Posted by mikebflorida on March 07, 2008 at 09:57 AM

Narrow win for Roy. The Sunshine feed was much better and after DVR'ing the bout, Roy lands 9 unanswered punches, at least 6 of them good shots. Cote lands 3 good shots in the fight. Punch count 10-5 for Roy plus the nice take down gives him the win. By the way, don't take my word for it, Cote admitted between periods that he lost the first fight. Excellent fight.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on March 10, 2008 at 04:35 PM

Roy gets Cote in this one. I guess these two have a rivalry now.

Posted by Juha82 on March 07, 2008 at 09:37 AM

A greta fight by both man. COte with his 3 good punches, landing his first to the chin of Roy but not comes heavily. Roy answered with great flurry, landing about 4, three landing very solidly as Cote really ate of those ones. Cote answered with two punches in this exchange, maybe last landing or not. Roy missed with an uppercut. Cote lands one nice one to the side og Roy's helmet but landed then better punch. A short but sharp punch to the face of Roy. Roy with the takedown. Edge Roy.

Posted by merle johnson on March 07, 2008 at 10:39 AM

slight edge Roy,Good showing by both, more fighters need to take notes from these two.they may not win them all ,but they always showup, and always put on a helluva show!!!!!

Posted by ibled4theusa on March 07, 2008 at 12:13 PM

Too bad Cote couldn't do enough damage to end this one. Roy easy win to call. Gee what a surprise fans actually watch a fight at the game. DUMB ASS DIRECTOR!!!

Posted by Goon24 on March 07, 2008 at 10:55 AM

Roy wins this one i think that the other fight happened becuz cote wanted revenge

Posted by TheBomb413 on March 12, 2008 at 05:20 PM

Man the flyer homers really screwed this one up. Come on now, a draw maybe I can see but to me it looked pretty clear that Roy won. I'm starting to get really really really annoyed with the flyer homers.

Posted by Dogs Bollocks on March 08, 2008 at 11:08 PM

Roy landed the better shots.

Posted by dansal55 on March 07, 2008 at 11:23 AM

Cote almost got the lead left in on this fight, which he ends up landing big time in the next one. It didn't connect, and I give this one to Roy only slightly. A great bout and fun to watch. Toe to toe.

Posted by DetroitIan on March 07, 2008 at 07:59 AM

Roy won this one. Cote wins the next one. Great scraps!

Posted by powerball on March 08, 2008 at 01:08 PM

roy rocked cote pretty good early in the fight and basically the fight was over.

Posted by aerotunes on March 07, 2008 at 11:31 AM

Nice scrap. Won't help the lame Flyers make the playoffs.

Posted by seanw on March 07, 2008 at 12:03 PM

good fight roy got this one but cotex has more left in his tank for another.

Posted by jrw89sbk on April 12, 2009 at 11:47 PM

Roy had some good early hits and he gets the win.

Posted by brennank on March 07, 2008 at 08:35 AM

COTE landed better punches then Roy! Close fight but the first one was the best for COTE!

Posted by hockey doc on March 07, 2008 at 07:50 AM

close fight but Cote landed more, he gets the win.

Posted by bloody_knuckles on March 08, 2008 at 05:55 AM

Riley wins by default.... Roy landed about 0 punches the whole fight.

Posted by tnaveler on July 20, 2008 at 05:13 PM

I love Andre but That was a great hit. Win Cote but if he wouldn't have sat on Roy, he would have gotten back up

Posted by Unforgiven on April 10, 2015 at 04:07 PM

On RDS the other night, Roy mentioned the two fights from this game and sounded like from his perspective he lost.

Posted by pogo619 on March 07, 2008 at 11:08 AM

Cote gets a win in this one. Not only does he start out fast but he finishes with a great left uppercut. Cote bashers.....Wait till you see round 2.....No questions there.... I can't wait to read how you justify Roy winning that one..... You will actually have to vot for Cote....

Posted by puttin on foil on March 07, 2008 at 08:53 AM

cote won the beginning of the fight and the end, Roy won the middle. Win Cote!

Posted by SlaveTrader on March 08, 2008 at 04:54 PM

Good job to both competitors. They both had some decents shots landed in this one. But Cote has a little more mustard on his left. Slight Edge to Cote for being the aggressor and landing the last left.

Posted by sasso09 on March 07, 2008 at 09:11 AM

Very close fight, DRAW. if anyone gets the win it would be cote, cote landed the only important shots, roy threw a flurry of 4-5 lefts that either missed or hit helmet. Cote landed some bombs.

Posted by Philly_fighters on March 07, 2008 at 01:31 PM

Another great fight by Cote! Cote get's him with a left right before he fell down.

Posted by RR20 on March 07, 2008 at 10:34 AM

this was a great fight back and forth i'll have to give the slight edge SLIGHT edge to cote he started it off and landed a few more punches. roy got the take down, but after a long fight like that who wouldn't just go down?

Posted by phillyfan5 on March 07, 2008 at 07:20 PM

i think cote won he had more punches but roy had those 5 quick shots but i think cote is the winner

Posted by Shortygio07 on January 15, 2009 at 06:08 PM

great fight i think cote won this one

Posted by brashingles on March 07, 2008 at 10:53 AM

Good fight .After Roy got his little flurry in he seemed tired and hung on a bit. He didnt seem to interested in throwing any more after he got his shots in. Cote has a very tough chin and he never gives up. Roy kind of pulled a laraque by tying up and wanting to end the fight after he gets is flurry in. Maybe he is was tired, but some fighters in general seem real tough, but they dont wanna finish the fight and have someone come back on them. They get in their punches to "win" the fight and they shut it down. The both landed solid punches, Roy landed maybe one more good one than Cote. But Cote more heart and fights till the end. pretty much a draw maybe slight edge to Roy.

Posted by sharpeye on March 07, 2008 at 07:15 PM

Draw. Cote's first and last punch we great. Roy had about two solid ones in the middle.

Posted by bnwolfe on October 04, 2008 at 01:32 PM

great scrap

Posted by phantomsfan15 on March 08, 2008 at 04:54 PM

good scrap!!!!!!! I think Roy likes them left hands in the beginning of his fights with cote!!!! lol

Posted by foiledup on March 07, 2008 at 06:12 PM

Reall good fight. Both trading some nice punches.

Posted by bigdog2007 on March 07, 2008 at 08:59 AM

Was that Cote or Huggybear Stortini? Didn't seem to appreciate the feeding of lefts by Roy. Other fight makes up for it !! Taking the most punches in the head doesn't make your boyfriend fighter of the year Jackmiss100

Posted by J.R. Abel on March 07, 2008 at 04:55 PM

Slight edge to Roy. Pretty even trading punches then 2 points for the takedown.

Posted by azjim on March 07, 2008 at 04:58 AM

I thought Roy landed the better punches, but Cote did land a couple too.

Posted by ROCK HAWK on March 07, 2008 at 04:24 PM

Come on retarded Flyer fans, vote honest - Roy won that fight. Good fight ! nice KO by Cote in the rematch.

Posted by NJDcaptain04 on March 07, 2008 at 11:06 AM

Slight, slight edge to Roy, who either got tired or didn't want anymore, in the end of the fight. Props to both guys for a really good fight and for answering back AFTER taking some punches. Someone should send this clip to Brashear and Laraque and show them what "heart" is. It doesn't take a tough guy to throw 'em, but you have to have heart to take some and still keep coming on.

Posted by penguinsfan123 on March 07, 2008 at 10:05 PM

roy wins

Posted by snowboardinmatt on March 07, 2008 at 04:55 PM

Roy with the win, but Cote put up a good fight.

Posted by jcstokes on March 07, 2008 at 04:39 PM

Good fight- Slight edge to Roy.

Posted by Blackhawk16 on March 10, 2008 at 04:21 PM

Patrick Roy kicked some butt!!!!!!

Posted by growsales1 on March 07, 2008 at 02:42 PM

good fight.... I give this to Roy for the mad flurry of lefts....could easily be a draw as there was no clear cut winner I guess.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on March 05, 2015 at 02:34 AM

Roy started good, but Cote finished it with a dandy

Posted by kitcarnut on March 07, 2008 at 02:45 PM

cote by last one landed it was that close

Posted by Chill on March 07, 2008 at 01:26 PM

What a punk that Cote picking on the bigger guy like that. Those Flyers are such bullies. Draw

Posted by bostongreg2002 on March 08, 2008 at 10:39 PM

Cote got in the better shots, I don't care about who lands on top
