The 6'4", 240lb Deveaux backed down from Godard but dropped 'em on Fedetenko.Tells you all you need to know about this guy.

Posted by bj106 on December 21, 2008 at 10:07 PM

Deveaux is a huge turtle, hope Godard pounds him next meeting!

Posted by ScottDaniels on December 23, 2008 at 12:55 PM

im calling it a draw bc a wekaer fedetenko held on...ruslan, try picking a fight with KESLER next time, you might have a shot.

Posted by whiskey7228 on December 21, 2008 at 06:46 PM

Deveaux where were you when Goddard wanted to dance?

Posted by bruiser11 on December 22, 2008 at 02:43 AM

deveaux couldn't match up against the people like gratton..thornton and godard..fedottenko dropped 1st..but this is he only guy deveaux will fight well against

Posted by BAAAAANNERMAAAN on December 23, 2008 at 09:38 AM

fedotenko showing some impressive grit............not so much for Deeaux who looks sooooo pathetic......send him back to the minors........what a spot picking pussy

Posted by RykerHC on December 21, 2008 at 11:33 AM

I'm gonna go against the popular opinion and call this one a draw. Deveaux was clearly getting the best of Fedotenko in the beginning, but Fedotenko landed a couple of solid punches later on.

Posted by Riley32 on December 21, 2008 at 04:42 AM

ruslan dropping them! had a few good punches

Posted by skihunter442 on January 08, 2009 at 02:33 AM

Deveaux threw alot of punches but didn't connect. Advantage Fedotenko!!!!!

Posted by mungo on December 21, 2008 at 01:40 AM

Deveaux is a pussy from backing down from Godard, Deveaux should only stick to fighting his own pussy ass teammates from now on

Posted by scrapiron wins on December 21, 2008 at 05:03 PM

Deveaux is no more then a big chicken.

Posted by pkurtd on December 21, 2008 at 08:56 AM

Deveaux is a coward. If Burke is a man of his word this G*dless animal will be dispatched to the East Coast League Sunday.

Posted by blazers76 on December 21, 2008 at 09:33 PM

Fedotenko win. Kinda jumped him a bit but landed the best punch.

Posted by K.O.cur_26 on December 21, 2008 at 07:43 AM

Shappa, actually Fedotenko is pretty good for a nonfighter. Your hero AndreA Deveaux pussed out big time earlier from Godard, then decides to fight Ruslan Fedotenko. What a bitch. Win Fedotenko for landing the best punch.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on December 21, 2008 at 08:59 AM

Write it down, Andre Deveaux is by far the biggest p*ssy chicken sh*t in the league. He turtles against Godard and chooses to fight Ruslan Fedotenko? RUSLAN FEDOTENKO! Grow some brass and maybe fight someone who uh FIGHTS! you big coward! Ok yes Godard is one of the toughest in the league avoiding him is understandable, but Orpik would go, Stone, Cooke, maybe even Staal or Letang and you choose RUSLAN FEDOTENKO! I hope no one respects andre deveaux, no one should. Candy @$$!

Posted by neiljc on December 21, 2008 at 10:38 AM

I wass shocked when I saw Fedetenko going with the other teams "kinda heavy". Ruslan was pissed and was looking for a huge hit all night. Never did I expect a fight from a European goal scorer. An angry European non fighter beating an uninspired tough guy is very impressive. He landed three big rights in a row while only taking two. He even cut Deveaux's nose if you look closely. Win Fedetenko, although very shocking with the whole situation. By the way BattleAxe13, Fedetenko was the first to drop them and asked Deveaux after he chickened out to Godard. This is purely Fedetenko showing some stones. Not that I don't agree with your assessment of Deveaux anyway.

Posted by stellaartois on December 23, 2008 at 09:12 AM

I'm impressed by fedotenko, but not quite enough for a draw.

Posted by Gunslinger on December 21, 2008 at 09:34 AM

Deveaux gets the win but any honour and respect he may have had is now gone. All game he would'nt fight Godard(who wanted him bad) and then at the end when the game is over and Godard is gone with a misconduct he fights a Russian. Do'nt give me this crap about Wilson not letting him fight or Fedotenko. ALL commentators after the game could not believe the gutlessness(is that a word?) of Deveaux.

Posted by 1964leafs on December 22, 2008 at 02:11 AM

I thnk Deveaux did the right thing not going with Goddard, Goddard looked like an idiot. I don't like to see a man back down, but I like to see the Leafs win and I believe that Deveaux not accepting the invite was ,in part, responsible for the win. It showed a level of discipline needed to win. With that said, next time he should go, just to clear the air about whether Deveaux is a turtle or not. And Rusty you picked the wrong time to go for a win in the fisticul column.

Posted by bigredbaer on December 21, 2008 at 06:37 PM

Deveaux gets the obvious win, but Fedotenko held his own considering.

Posted by powerball on December 24, 2008 at 12:44 AM

fedotenko held his own for a smaller opponent. the announcer said it all when he said goddard was out. i guess deveaux felt pretty safe. goddard has a long memory.

Posted by BROWN - KOCUR on December 23, 2008 at 12:01 AM

You have to be blind or a Pens homer idiot to say Deveaux went after him. Fedotenko went after him and tried getting the jump with a few sucker punches before the kid even got his gloves off. As for not fighting Godard earlier, his team was destroying the Pens who were sleep walking through the game at that point. Why should he fight Godard and give the Pens a spark if Godard beats him ? Besides Godard was too busy chasing Stempniak and Blake later to go after Deveaux later. Lame

Deveaux with the w

Posted by chunkym on December 21, 2008 at 01:46 AM

Not a big fan of Deveaux, but he didn't have much choice but to go. Win Deveaux.

Posted by Tilty McTangle on December 23, 2008 at 04:02 PM

Really? People are chirping Deveaux for not taking on a top 5 fighter in the league. The guy is a rookie. People didn't expect Lucic to fight Laraque after the Komiserek tangle. Fedotenko came looking for a fight, got a couple of suckers in, then got pounded into the ice, and could have been alot worse if Deveaux didn't let up near the end. Easy Win Deveaux. When the Leafs get a Heavy Weight, then Godard will have somebody to dance with. Until then, there is no point dressing the big goon against teams that don't have dance partners for him.

Would some of you people shut the F uck up!

Posted by scorp1on on December 21, 2008 at 11:54 AM

As much as I enjoyed watching Feds pick a fight and getting a couple punches in... win Deveaux.

Posted by boomer belak on December 23, 2008 at 09:55 AM

Deveaux has taken allcomers. And held his own. But Goddard in a 7 - 2 pasting of the Penns. Why? Are Penns trying to win playing Goddard needing 5 to tie. Any one with brains does not fight on either side when game long gone.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 21, 2008 at 10:41 AM

Win to Deveaux

Posted by pens08 on December 21, 2008 at 03:37 AM

daveuax didnt want godard and it didnt look like he really wanted to fight fedotenko till he got hit a few times. easy win for daveaux

Posted by Reverend Kane on December 21, 2008 at 01:06 PM

to upyours: you are pretty dumb. Deveaux is not 6'4 240 - he's6'3 217. Also fedatenko didnt give him much of a choice after 2 straight jaw shots. The commentators were laughing their ass off saying fedatenko had lost his mind. Deveaux with a good old fashioned russian beatdown.

Posted by nighthawk walt on December 21, 2008 at 11:35 AM

don't know what fedotenko was thinking?only reason he got in any punches at all was deveaux did not realize he was in a fight.once he realized, deveaux gave him old fashioned beat down.

Posted by Crooked on December 22, 2008 at 01:26 AM

haha respect to deveaux for not droppin till gettin a slap to the face. ... I think fedotenko was sniffin too many smelling salts before that bright idea.

Posted by probiehawk24 on December 21, 2008 at 10:53 AM

Feddy can throw 'em when he rarely fights but not a good idea against Deveaux. Andre didn't want to because of who it was but he needed to defend himself. Atleast Deveaux is an honest fighter and he knew Ruslan was in over his head. Win Andre

Posted by followthecode on December 21, 2008 at 04:33 PM

Game was over and the Pens wanted to send a message for 1-31-09 at Toronto, but why send Fedotenko to do it? Dumb. Hopefully Godard will find Deveaux then and we'll see a real fight.

Posted by NoKnuckles on December 21, 2008 at 11:48 AM

Maybe all you retard Leaf-haters should watch the video a few more times... Deveaux doesn't CHOOSE to fight Fedotenko, he gets jumped. You can tell he was surprised he was in a fight. Yeah I don't agree with the back-down from Godard, but why fight when you're up a few goals on the road and give the other team a chance to get the crowd in it?

Posted by BooSanta on December 23, 2008 at 08:41 PM

How about that from Ruslan. Given that Fedotenko may have fought a pillow once or twice, he actually lands a few. It motivated Deveaux to unload on him. Looks like some analyzers gave fedofisto the moral victory here, but when it comes down to the actual fight, Deveaux takes him to the cleaners. Better luck nex..nah, not betting on Fedsomefists fighting again.

Posted by Shappa on December 21, 2008 at 06:01 AM

Dear Ruslan, stick to scoring clutch stanley cup winning goals... You're way better at that than fighting.

Posted by blackgoldfan on December 21, 2008 at 05:58 PM

fedotenko fares out better then expected. but deveaux gets another "W" against a non fighter.

Posted by bruins rule on December 21, 2008 at 07:47 AM

andre with the win in this fight.

Posted by Bruins29 on December 21, 2008 at 05:39 PM

What was Fedotenko thinking? Dropping the gloves with an experienced AHL enforcer? Bad move. He got pounded.

Posted by b.t.wilson on December 21, 2008 at 02:18 AM

Very slight edge to Deveaux but great showing by Fedotenko.

Posted by leafslover85 on March 09, 2009 at 08:11 AM

u people that voted for fetitanko are idiots, how the F*** did he win. Also devaeux is not an nhl fighter he is used to the ahl action. thats why you only usually see 1-2 ahl fighters enter the league ech year because they r the best so they r getting a chance in the nhl. andre unfortunatly did not have a good run at it.

Posted by gspistheman on December 21, 2008 at 06:27 PM

Deveaux won the game for the Leafs. 3-1....draws the PP against Godard..Leafs score 4-1 and don't look back...Smart play have to pick spots sometimes...Fedotenko took a run at a teammate, Deveaux answered...again good play....The difference between Godard and Deveaux....Deveaux isn't a meathead.

Posted by J.R. Abel on December 22, 2008 at 08:03 PM

Wow, must be a bunch of Toronto tools on this site now. If Deveaux is a heavyweight, he needs to fight heavyweights. I have no problem with his fighting a non-fighter if he's challenged. But he pussed out earlier when challenged. And where was this "beating" he laid down? Fedotenko landed more punches. Ruslan clearly didn't win the fight, but to say he got a beatdown? He handled himself very well against a HEAVYWEIGHT. Toronto fans need to stop acting like Phili fags.

Posted by gmr133 on December 22, 2008 at 06:46 AM

Leafs announcers are tools. Godard sent an engraved invitation to Deveaux to scrap earlier in the game and Deveaux ran way as fast as his little legs would carry him. The idiot leafs coach even says "there is no code" we were winning, why fight? Because Deveuax is a puss who won't fight godard but is perfectly willing to take on some 150lb russian who fought with his little brother once 12 years ago. As bad as Pitt looked in the this game, the leafs looked like punks.

Posted by Weasel Wheelie on December 21, 2008 at 07:24 PM

Fedotenko showed some heart there, but was overmatched. Deveaux by a closer than needed decision.

Ad win

Posted by A Fight Fan on December 21, 2008 at 04:02 PM

BattleAxe13, I understand your anger, at the time I thought he should have fought Godard after drawing the pim. However Ron Wilson said after the game he told Deveaux NOT to fight him at the time, and they ended up getting a power play goal out of it, also you shouldn't blame Deveaux for dropping the gloves here. Ruslan face raked him then jabbed him twice in the face. I think anyone would have dropped the gloves there to defend themselves here. Win- Deveaux

Posted by Dijo on December 21, 2008 at 12:38 PM

Deveaux backed down from Godard. That was wrong. If he's going to be a tough guy in the NHL he has to fight. You guys on this site who are criticizing him for picking on poor little Fedotenko didn't watch the game. Deveaux didn't want to fight him either. Deveaux pounded poor little Fedotenko after poor little Fedotenko tossed off his gloves and threw 2 punches at Deveaux's jaw. The ref or linesmen weren't going to stop it so Deveaux had no choice. Belak wouldn't have backed down from Godard and he could have been had a few weeks ago. I think he's just as good a player as Deveaux is too. Oh yeah but Deveaux is younger. Hmm.

Posted by eggers on December 23, 2008 at 09:37 AM

This Deveaux kid is a joke. He loses to Josh Gratton and then takes on Fedotenko. What a douche. What will he do next, lose to Stortini and then take on Malkin. What a loser!!!

Posted by tim daddy on December 21, 2008 at 01:11 PM

deveaux wins, but fedotenko shows a lot of spirit
