Belak with the left jersey/face punch and a nicely timed switch....

Posted by bruiseyoureye on January 19, 2009 at 11:41 PM

i give this one a draw.......nothing landed at all except maybe one at the end by belak......alot of arm shots......i wish some of those would have landed.....but since they didnt it wasnt much of a fight.....but i give them both an a for effort at least

Posted by lefthook25 on January 20, 2009 at 06:42 PM

nobody really landed anything, jersey rinkling isnt punching for anyone who thinks that those "jabs" by Belak did anything he tried to pull him off balance. draw

Posted by DARCY T on March 31, 2009 at 02:26 PM

almost nothin landed.a draw

Posted by SirYohans on January 25, 2009 at 04:39 PM

Decent showing for Rupp to hang with Belak. Nothing really signifigant landed throughout however. Maybe a slight edge to Belak for being in more control... Nope, I'll go DRAW.

wildfan4eva what are u like 10,belak hardly made rupp look like his bitch u r an idiot i can tell with out even knowin u, u r an asshole, clearly a draw and rupp did land a good right nobody with clear win when belak switched did not do no damage rupp lost his balance and went down.

Posted by nighthawk walt on January 20, 2009 at 10:28 PM

Rupp with one of the worst showings of anyone this year.did not land anything and lost his balance after a jab.Belak winner by default.

Posted by ilovenyr on January 20, 2009 at 01:27 PM

Not much at all landed. Win for Belak and respectable in match for not throwing that shot with Rupp down on the ice.

Posted by ChickenSwede on January 20, 2009 at 01:58 AM

never cared much for the belak/janssen jersey-jab style fighting, in fact i think it's sh!t. oh well, win belak anyway.

Posted by OriginalSix on January 20, 2009 at 04:43 PM

EDGE goes to Belak for landing the only punches.

Posted by Behn Wilson on January 20, 2009 at 10:00 PM

Is it just me, or has Belak has been quietly and suprisingly winning all year against seemingly tougher opposition? Hmmmm.

Posted by mcpuck on January 25, 2009 at 03:19 PM

Belak won by jersey jabs and then making the switch. Close fight with Belak getting the win.

Posted by Gunslinger on January 20, 2009 at 04:03 PM

Belak landed with his sweater jabs and connected with the one left hand. Most of Rupps shots(if not all) came up short. Win for Belak who has had a rebirth in Nashville.

Posted by BooSanta on January 20, 2009 at 09:21 PM

Belak wins on the reach advantage. He lands more but they won't faze Rupp much as they seem to graze him a bit.. Belak gets a takedown in the end and pretty much controlled the fight. Rupp gives it a whirl but just can't reach or he'd have gotten an edge with as hard as he was throwin'.

Posted by hal29 on January 20, 2009 at 05:18 PM

win belak, rupp sucks as a fighter.he fights alot but doesn't do much he clinches and holds, then hugs.its ok in some fights but almost all of them.he maybe be a heavy weight but not a very good one.he wins by keeping guys at distance but never lands any punches

Posted by BSTnougat on January 20, 2009 at 08:23 PM

good restraint by belak once rupp was on the floor. Thats gotta be tough after going at it with someone. not much landed in this though.

Posted by sunny8 on January 21, 2009 at 10:40 PM

Belak lands maybe one not an exciting fight.

Posted by jjoneill12 on January 27, 2009 at 11:55 AM

a pretty weak fight, but the edge goes to Belak. no big punches actually landed, just a lot of big swings. give credit to Belak for showing class and not throwing that last punch he wound up for. Mike Rupp has been fighting really well this season, but he couldn't pull this one off.

Posted by ThemsFightinWords on March 15, 2009 at 04:58 AM

Rupp still needs his special ed teacher to tie his skates for him. how is he supposed to win a fight? Useless

Posted by QUIGGS22 on January 20, 2009 at 06:14 AM

Win for Belak,,the jersey jabs gave him the edge.

Posted by joaquin on January 22, 2009 at 02:44 AM

Classy of Belak not to hit Rupp when he was down.

Posted by wildfan4eva on January 20, 2009 at 12:20 AM

Belak didn't land any haymakers, but he did make Rupp his bitzch in this one! He is right up there with Godard as far as jersey jabs go, he always gives my boy (Boogy) a run for his money. I give Belak allot of credit, very underrated in my opinion. Why does it seem as if nobody want's to give this guy credit? He has beaten some good fighters! 12/23/06 he beat Brashear, 12/16/06 he beat Orr. 1/11/07 he beat Andrew Peters. 3/20/07 he beat Cam Janssen. 12/27/04 he beat Godard. 3/20/04 he beat Peter Worrell. He beat Boogaard twice in 2008. 10/20/07 he beat David Koci. 11/29/07 he beat Eric Boulton.1/9/08 he beat George Parros. This guy is allot tougher than most in the NHL and he has actually beat some of these mentioned players more than once! Give him some props for christ sake Cherndig ----Godard owns boogy...ok. He beat Boogaard one time, and for the most part Boogaard was actually winning the fight until the end. Boogaard has statistically won every other fight they have been in; which is three...1/3/07..boogaard won,..1/9/07 was a win for godard...1/26/07 was a win for boogaard,,,and finally 1/22/07..very narrow and weak ..but yet another win for boogaard since he lands on top and throws the only little connecting punch! So there you have it moron..boogaards record vs godard is 3-1...if being optimistic 2-1-1..in favor of Derek Boogaard. You may pull your head out of your azz now Boogy hater. What is wrong with people on this site,,like you bruise your butt? Nothing landed? Did you not see Belak land like 10 straight jersey jabs...oh i am sure those are nothing in your book huh..i am sure your puzzy azz would be knocked out by just one of them! Wow, maybe rating female soccer fights is more up your alley Stevie Wonder. Good luck with that.

Posted by chl37 on January 20, 2009 at 08:07 AM

belak with the win. rupp vastly improved this year but just not in this fight. belak highly underated, many other teams could have improved their enforcing by picking this guy off waivers but didnt for some reason.

Posted by capsfloors on January 20, 2009 at 04:11 PM

Belak with the edge here....where are you njteech? you only show up when your boys do well in a fight...LOSER

Posted by Sukoshi84 on January 20, 2009 at 04:36 AM

win Rupp

Posted by tattooedkingpin on January 20, 2009 at 11:06 AM

Slight edge Belak

Posted by blackgoldfan on January 20, 2009 at 12:38 PM

rupp has turned into a reliable tuff guy. belak gets a slight edge based on jersy jabs otherwise nothing landed and could have been a draw. also would like to see belak drop em more!

Posted by blues10 on January 20, 2009 at 09:35 AM

chico what are you watching Belak end of story!

Posted by GetUrWigSplit13 on January 20, 2009 at 09:17 AM

slight edge to belak...joeye4 u must be a huge belak fan to be pumpin him up that much..he is not close to bein one of the top fighters in the league...definatly not top 10, maybe top 15, but at least top 20, but definatly not one of the top fighters!

Posted by kimocoyote on January 19, 2009 at 11:41 PM

If anything slight edge to Belak

Posted by dlbishop2213 on January 20, 2009 at 02:19 AM

Belak is a good fighter by NHL heavyweight standards... He is always willing to go. I really dont like him for what he did to Parros tho, the knee to trip him was pretty shady... Parros lost because of that (which he missed a couple games for that knee as well). Belak with the win here for the jabs and top position.

Posted by acd1 on January 20, 2009 at 08:28 PM

Belak dominated the fight... but didn't really land any good shots.

Posted by MajorGroove on January 20, 2009 at 02:52 AM

I give Belak a small edge and the win. Chico had it right when he said those so called "jersey jabs" were mostly just "push and pulls".........and overall "I don't know if any of those really landed, Doc". Good to see Belak respect the code and not hit Rupp when he was down. Not a great fight, gave it a 5.

Posted by laclipper12 on January 19, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Belak landed more...at least 6 left jabs...Rupp didn't land a thing...Win Belak

Posted by Cowhoy on January 20, 2009 at 06:47 PM

Good point with the "Jersey Jabs", but I still gave the fight to Belak.

Belak Wins by a punch or two

Posted by mikebflorida on January 20, 2009 at 09:11 AM

Good matchup with Wade Belak taking the win. Belak is easily top 3 in the NHL right now.

Posted by Juha82 on March 11, 2009 at 01:27 PM

slight edge Belak

Posted by neutralfighter on January 23, 2009 at 07:11 PM

Belak is impressive and underrated. Top 5 fighter IMO.

Posted by Don Berry on January 20, 2009 at 04:58 PM

Belak is a big ugly dude at ice level, probably better off left alone. Doesn't play very well either but is a super heavy weight!

Posted by Belak_Norris on January 20, 2009 at 11:51 AM

I kind of figured this would happen! Rupp hasnt really taken on a top heavyweight! He does here, and it shows! He still hung in there, but still room for improvement! Win to my man Belak!

Belak's Rules

Posted by joeye4 on January 20, 2009 at 06:39 AM

Belak is one of the top fighters in the league this year. He has brought his fight game to the highest level. Big, great balance and bombs for punches. Rupp did as well as anyone could but clearly lost.

Posted by bradass81 on January 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM

Belak get the easy win.

Posted by Santokh_Gill on January 20, 2009 at 09:01 AM

Belak with the win on points , what a smart fighter, switching up huh !.reminds me of Darron Langdon and the way he used to fight , Smart, not all abount anger .

Posted by probie83 on January 20, 2009 at 05:54 PM

Belak is a hell of a fighter he controlled the pace so I give him the victory.

Posted by woodape on January 20, 2009 at 06:02 AM

Belak is fighting great, right now. He is in his prime. It took him awhile to get here but I would definately call him a top heavyweight now - not THE top heavyweight - but a bona fide for sure. He has a stunner jersey-jab that is working well for him - it is like a taser to the face right now. Belak for president!

Posted by Big Little Tank on January 20, 2009 at 01:08 AM

Belak is getting better. Not like the punching bag in T.O. Nice switch up. Belak wins on a sweet punch.

Posted by bruins rule on January 20, 2009 at 07:44 AM

belak gets the win in this fight.

Posted by PredsFan189 on January 22, 2009 at 11:02 PM

Good tilt. Rupp made a good showing for himself, but Belak abused him with the jersey jab. That announcer is funny... "trying to pull the other player off balance." Looked to me like it was about separating the other player from his teeth.

Posted by STEVEO74 on January 21, 2009 at 10:34 PM

Belak easily.

Posted by nycbob on January 20, 2009 at 08:19 AM

Rupp has never beaten anyone. He hasnt taken on the super heavies. Chico Resch is the worst announcer in the league and the biggest homer. I guess because "Marty, Marty Marty" is out, he s found a new a*s to kiss.

Posted by AllDayAP on January 20, 2009 at 05:07 PM

Boring fight

Posted by audix2359 on January 20, 2009 at 09:39 PM

I figured Belak would whip Rupp's ass but it was mostly even. I say draw and a good showing for Rupp, Belak has been on a bit of a roll as of late.

Posted by rdemps01 on January 20, 2009 at 01:42 PM

Belak with the win with the nice takedown

Posted by azjim on January 20, 2009 at 06:46 AM

Switching to the left made the difference. Belak wins.

Posted by tim daddy on January 20, 2009 at 08:34 AM

slight edge-belak

Posted by Oil Can Henry on January 20, 2009 at 12:51 AM

Not very exciting. Rupp had been looking-good in his last few fights, but showed nothing here,.....Belak controlled his man, kept him at a distance and off balance, but didn't land anything significant, either. Edge Belak.

Posted by Cherndig on January 19, 2009 at 11:58 PM

Belak was more active, the jersey shots give him the win. Wildfan4eva Godard owns Boogy.

Posted by chad420 on January 24, 2009 at 07:14 PM

win belak..landin 2or 3 jersey jabs...then goin southie & gettin a good 1 in....this got a 5

Posted by jcstokes on January 20, 2009 at 12:45 PM

Smart switch by Belak- lands the best shot. Rupp kept his distance and lands nothing. Win Belak.
