very close....draw

Posted by NewYorker328 on April 02, 2009 at 02:19 AM

HEY MISS YA GUERIN, BUT WITH THE YOUTH MOVEMENT...HE HAS BETTER SHOT TO GET A RING NOW! HE WAS GOOD WITH THE ISLES AND CAN STILL FIGHT AT HIS AGE. WAY TOO GO IN THIS NOT SO GREAT OF A FIGHT! LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!

Posted by Behn Wilson on April 02, 2009 at 12:36 PM

Draw. It was as if Clarkson became mesmerized by the stick movement (after the ref licked it away), which allowed Guerin to (justifiably) land a couple of smacks, but that last shot by Clarkson seemed to connect with something.

DRaw

Posted by hall5875 on April 02, 2009 at 02:43 PM

young guy simply asking an old tough guy to go.

Posted by jmw7 on April 02, 2009 at 04:49 PM

DRAW......Have to hand it to Billy G. for standing in there with a stronger and younger kid,hes never shyed away from any tilt.

Posted by dogace on April 02, 2009 at 02:43 PM

good for guerin! i say draw..i do like clarkson, but i know he would not go with goddard

Posted by HeyImIrish on April 02, 2009 at 07:36 AM

Guerin was going pretty good landing a couple of solid shots.. but in the end Id say a draw with a slight edge to Clarkson for knocking Guerin down/off balance. And kudos to Guerin for still being willing to get in there and throw with a much younger and experienced (as far as fighting goes) guy.

Posted by bunkerman on April 02, 2009 at 10:57 PM

Clarkson asking Guerin if he was ok at end was a class act.

Posted by JMiller29 on April 02, 2009 at 10:48 AM

Guerin has always done it all. As a Bruin fan I always dreamed of a line consisting of ... LW- Tkachuk C- Roenick RW -Guerin Jeremy Jacobs had different dreams...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Fight was a draw. Guerin landed more, but when you go down just as the other guy is starting to respond I can't give you the win.

Posted by SteelCity on April 04, 2009 at 01:24 AM

DRAW or Edge BG. He out-threw and that last shot from Clarkson doesn't even come close to landing, it glances off the helmet. Look closely and you'll see it's pretty clear.

Posted by BigRob1 on April 02, 2009 at 05:03 PM

Guerin with the slight win. Guerin does this because he is a hockey player you jackass!

Posted by scrapiron wins on April 02, 2009 at 04:32 PM

Close fight. Guerin landed more but clarkson had the big one in the end.

Posted by Livefreeordie on April 02, 2009 at 10:24 AM

Guerin gets the nod, more punches landed. Devils are not the bad boys they once were. Pens are making a statement every where they play. I agree, if Goddard had been in the lineup, Clarkson wouldn't have even tried. What a punk Clarkson is, if he wanted a fight, why didn't he pick one with a fighter? Orpik would have ended his season for him.

Posted by Humper on April 02, 2009 at 01:13 PM

Guerin gets the edge. As has be said elsewhere, Guerin did NOT go down at the end because of a Clarkson punch, he slipped.

Posted by hal29 on April 02, 2009 at 05:40 PM

win to guerin he landed better shots.clarkson'spunch never realy laned it was cleary more of a slip then anything..win guerin!!!

Posted by Buckster on April 03, 2009 at 10:01 AM

not much there, but Guerin landed the only punch I could see

Posted by powerball on April 02, 2009 at 07:28 AM

guerin got in a few shots, clarkson did not knock guerin down, he slipped.

Posted by upyours on April 02, 2009 at 05:06 AM

Not sure how Clarkson comes out with the victory here when Guerin connected more. No respect for a player that picks a fight with a 38 year old that did nothing wrong but skate with a team that had a five goal lead in the third. Too bad Eric Godard was a scratch. Clarkson could have taken a mushful from him for his honor.

Posted by homeland on April 02, 2009 at 12:10 PM

Guerin got in more shots, but that shot he took at the end kinda evened it out. Kudos to the old guy though

Posted by shawn46 on April 02, 2009 at 09:21 AM

I've watched this fight now 5 times and don't see clarkson land more than that one at the end .. and it was a glancer... Eh.. down 5 goal.. what else can you do..

Posted by Boone2511 on April 02, 2009 at 11:27 PM

Guerin has balls for taking on the younger guy plus landed some nice shots

Posted by kimo_coyote on April 02, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Gurein in a close one. Last punch by Clarkson hit Guerin on left shoulder pad.

Posted by shane0mack on April 02, 2009 at 01:39 AM

guerin gets a good one or two punches in but clarkson wins by tko. but great respect he had for guerin at the end there. not really sure why guerin was fighting anyway. i've seen him fight on the islanders when emotions are high, but just like that?

Posted by bradass81 on April 02, 2009 at 04:55 PM

Chico Resch swallows... Not sure if clarkson knocked him down or he slipped but either way you have to give clarkson credit for knocking him down.

Posted by bruins rule on April 02, 2009 at 07:21 AM

not too much going on in this fight.

Posted by crosscheck52 on April 02, 2009 at 08:46 PM

I'm a Guerin fan, but I had to give the win to Clarkson. A draw seems fair as well, but I saw Clarkson having the edge.

Posted by ETR on April 02, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Kudos to Guerin but when you get dropped, you lost. Clarkson looks like the POS after this one.....

Posted by mikebflorida on April 02, 2009 at 09:26 AM

Might need a slow mo of this one to see where that last Clarkson punch connected. Guerin fell down like he was hit on the button but it looks like it hits his shoulder pad. Hmmmm....fishy. I'll give it to Clarkson for now.

Posted by BruinLeader on April 02, 2009 at 03:11 PM

oooo...sorry Bill.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on April 02, 2009 at 09:33 AM

Clarkson gets the W for the bomb at the end

Posted by ShuterMcGav on April 02, 2009 at 10:22 PM

Props to Clarkson for not drillin Guerin on the ice

Posted by acd1 on April 02, 2009 at 02:02 PM

Sad to see Guerin go to the Pens. Guerin is a good player who isn't a pu$$y, he doesn't fit in with the rest of the Pens.

Posted by Awesome-0 on April 02, 2009 at 11:48 PM

Guerin didn't do too bad for an old guy that doesn't fight much, still the W is clearly Clarkson's.

Posted by njsteve on April 02, 2009 at 09:41 AM

guerin got good shots in at the beginning, but when your knees buckle like his did at the end from that shot, can't give him the win. W clarkson. always liked guerin though.

Posted by carolyn1946 on April 02, 2009 at 11:06 AM

Winner Clarkson. Guerin is pass his prime for fighting. He was great in his day.

Posted by nastynate on April 03, 2009 at 12:27 PM

solid right by Clarkson. Gets the dub.

Posted by Chaotic8 on April 02, 2009 at 03:50 AM

I like watching veterans like Guerin fight, it honestly show they are still genuine hockey players as opposed to someone close to retiring. Way to go Guerin, although win goes to Clarkson.

Posted by b.t.wilson on April 02, 2009 at 09:17 AM

I love Guerin, always have, he's a good old time hockey player, a little past his prime now, but I love how he always played, would score and hit and throw the mitts down when he needed to, and was never dirty. Just an all-round great hockey player. Huh, well now that I've left my review for Guerin, I called this fight a 6, and an edge to Clarkson, I certainly don't think that last big shot is what put Guerin down, but I still figure he landed more.

Posted by MajorGroove on April 02, 2009 at 08:10 PM

Clarkson only lands one but it was the only one that matters.

Posted by runky on April 02, 2009 at 10:12 PM

Guerin started well but Clarkson appeared to be waiting for the right time. I still can't see how that punched floored Billy but clearly it must have been a clean shot. Win to Clarkie. I love how Guerin gives the kid props on the way to the box.

Posted by truitt on April 02, 2009 at 11:01 AM

What morons put Guerin as the winner...he was KOed you idiots. Clarkson clearly won this...it was as obvious.

Posted by ogie ogiltorpe on April 02, 2009 at 01:28 PM

Great job by both, Clarkson is one of the best middleweights and gets the TKO

Posted by Domi-nator on April 02, 2009 at 04:00 AM

The younger Clarkson too strong for the veteran Guerin but kudos to Guerin for getting in there and throwing.

Posted by blueshirts1623 on April 03, 2009 at 10:51 AM

Guerin fell down and landed more shots, but with an end like that you have to give it a draw

Posted by malkinfan71 on April 02, 2009 at 03:32 PM

Guerin landed a nice shot at the onset but Clarkson landed a couple of decent ones to take the win. I think Guerin slipped more than he was knocked down at the end. How refreshing to see someone start something and finish it as opposed to the way that punk Avery behaved the other night.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on April 02, 2009 at 02:41 PM

Clarkson wins it.

Posted by azjim on April 02, 2009 at 07:17 AM

Clarkson gets the win, but Guerin landed a few at the start.

Posted by thebassmaster on April 03, 2009 at 05:51 PM

Win to Clarkso, but its always great when Billy Guerin steps up

Posted by kitcarnut on April 02, 2009 at 04:17 AM

HTF can one vote for guerin? Clear loss.

Posted by tim daddy on April 02, 2009 at 10:22 AM

guerin was doing really well til that last shot

Posted by pilney2110 on April 02, 2009 at 12:03 PM

Nice fight for guerin but the last shot by clarkson earned the W. Props to guerin for fighting a guy like clarkson.

Posted by chad420 on April 03, 2009 at 11:25 PM

im a huge Billy G fan....but DC TKOd him with that shot....a 6

WIN CLARKSON

Posted by Rex from MN on April 02, 2009 at 01:50 PM

Now that the Pens have Guerin they have the missing character piece and are winning. I don't know why they don't score 5-6 goals every game. Anyway, Win for Clarkson since his knockdown didn't look like slip to me.
