Komisarek has no problem bullying younger and smaller players. He constantly runs, punches, face-washes and lays questionable hits on the non fighters but backs down regularly from the big boys. Reminds me of last season, the sucker punch he gave to David Krejci after the whistle and then him skating away immediately after Chara confronts him for it. Once a gutless punk always a gutless punk. But at least he has Orr, Mayers, Deveaux, and a few others to fight his battles for him this year.

If Komisarek would have not brought Staal up after the throw down, he would have had control. But Staal has become tougher in the last 3 years. After the punches were thrown, Staal, 20lbs lighter, just man-handled Komisarek. Draw for the football tackles. Kudos for both of them.

Matt Cooke deserved the hit, why? He was skating with his back turned on Komisarek so that he couldn't hit him. He put himself purposely in a dangerous position to get hit, hence one reason for the misconduct. Komisarek, doing what his bench tells him to do to get ice time and win hockey games, hits him and gets the puck. Staal disagreed because his teammate was down, sticks up for him like a player should and hits Komisarek blindsided. Komisarek takes exception to this since it was a more dangerous hit by Staal since he wasn't expecting it. This calls for a fight, Staal has to answer the bell.
