Staal wanted to talk about it and Thompson was hesitant to punch him. Then he said fuck it and pounded Staal.

staal in the beginning thompson finishes

Posted by phil5111 on May 07, 2010 at 01:58 PM

Fight was a draw. Staal stuck up for his teammate. Anyone who doesn't like Jordan Staal doesn't watch the game.

Why wouldn't Guerin drop'em instead of Staal? Both are pu$$y's.

Posted by smasham on November 28, 2009 at 10:22 AM

Thompson got the boarding call because Skoula tripped over Guerin.

Staal needs to realize he has a left hand and to let go so he can throw punchs with it. If he is going to be be a defensive forward and defend then he needs to do it.

Does anyone really care?!?!?!?!?!

Posted by penguinsrock on December 17, 2009 at 07:54 PM

i think this was a bad fight even though staal is amazing

Posted by jemihami on November 27, 2009 at 09:04 PM

The Thompson "accidentally" running guys head-first into the boards is getting tiring. Nate thinks he's a tough guy, but he's not.

I am a die-hard Pens fan and I hate Jordan Staal. He is overrated and rarely does anything beneficial or with skill. He gets whooped and nullifies the PP. Nice job costing the team the game and giving the Isles momentum. A top six and a first rounder offered and I would trade him.

staal sucks.. what's the point of fighting when you can't...

Posted by Towmater on November 27, 2009 at 09:01 PM

Thompson with a dangerous check and then seems to give Staal the chance to get out of it, and then throws some pretty good one at Staal's noggin, win thompson

Posted by SABREHATRED on November 27, 2009 at 08:52 PM

Stick to goal scoring and humpin mattresses Staal, leave the hooliganism to Crosby.... Easy w for Thompson

At first i though Staal was goin to win and then Nate threw a bunchs of rights

Posted by Jordybats99 on March 25, 2016 at 07:45 PM

Win Thompson.

staal was pathetic.thompson won this easily

Posted by Heyzeus on November 29, 2009 at 05:31 PM

Staal is about a good of a fighter as he is a player..(that means not very good for you mullet having pens fans)

Good job by Stall to jump in for a teamate but Thompson gets the edge in this scrap.

Posted by bruins rule on November 27, 2009 at 10:18 PM

thompson gets the win in this fight.

Posted by mcb789 on November 27, 2009 at 05:19 PM

thompson destroyed staal in this fight. staal did not have a chance.

Posted by crosscheck52 on November 28, 2009 at 07:43 AM

Another reason to throw out the instigator penalty. Thompson wins.

Posted by web1350 on November 27, 2009 at 11:20 PM

Thompson with the win. Staal just doesn't have the experience yet to be a good fighter. Staal got the takedown but takedowns don't determine a winner as too many people think. I have to laugh when a guy gets his butt kicked but is able to wrestle the other guy down and the fans thinks he wins.

Posted by DropGlovz187 on November 28, 2009 at 12:14 PM

Staal FTW since he seemed to be the only one with punches that actually connected. Even though his punches were "muffins", he did hit more often and score the eventual "takedown". Anyone who rates the fight the other way is simply a "hater"! The fight sucked, but voting for Thompson just means you hate Stall. (even though he sucks at fighting)

Posted by no123one on January 24, 2010 at 02:32 PM

Stall gets the edge. He dominated the beginning and then ragdolled Thompson at the end. Thompson landed maybe one punch.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on November 27, 2009 at 05:36 PM

jordan staal pounded on thompsons face........i dont think thompson even landed one punch.

Posted by lily_flower2004 on November 27, 2009 at 04:44 PM

staal stuck up for his teammate skoula..and it was an ok bout..staal was the only one with connecting punches, even tho they mostly wrestled..neither one are fighters.

Posted by J.R. Abel on November 28, 2009 at 07:14 PM

absolutely no punches landed. Staal with the takedown but not enough from either guy for a win.

Posted by bam932 on November 28, 2009 at 01:33 AM

When I see a Staal brother fighting it kinda reminds me of a retarded kid trying to solve a rubic's cube - you're cheering for them... but sadly it's just not gonna have a happy ending.

Posted by millerdvr on November 27, 2009 at 09:59 PM

stall got the crap kicked out of him and his stupid looking Blue Oyster Bar uni too, easy win for thompson

Posted by Tony Esposito on November 28, 2009 at 02:02 PM

Staal didn't want this to begin with. Easy win Thompson.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on November 28, 2009 at 01:36 AM

I never could understand a boarding call - what'd he do that was so, wrong? He checks his man into the boards,...so, what,...happens all the time,...it wasn't charging. And Staal lost, by-the-way,...crummy one.

Posted by chad420 on November 27, 2009 at 09:45 PM

thompson biding his time

Posted by smf on November 27, 2009 at 08:55 PM

Stall gets some points for getting in there. but WAY outclassed.

Posted by BattleAxe13 on November 27, 2009 at 10:47 PM

It's rediculous that 68% think Nate won. It was a draw more than anything. Staal stuck up for a teammate, like a hockey player should.
