Showboaters will get thier lights punched out. Does McCracken think he's in the NFL? My sister thinks your hair do is totally awesome you ladyboy.

Posted by spartan2001 on December 20, 2009 at 06:16 AM

By looking at the voting, you'd think that Mcgrattan KO'd Belak. I think the fight was closer to a draw. Someone posted that Mcgrattan is making a run at #1 heavyweight. Are you kidding me? And after the fight Mcgrattan raised his arms and stuck out his tongue. Hey Brian, why didn't you raise your arms and stick out your tongue earlier this season after facing Orr and Boogaard? The fight was closer than you thing.

Posted by staceyb on December 20, 2009 at 03:36 PM

McG takes it--with that wingspan advantage is it any wonder?

Posted by Clark75 on December 20, 2009 at 02:34 PM

Not sure why it's such a decisive victory on this site. It looked like Belak was getting the better shots in. All McGrattan did was throw jersey jabs the entire time while all of his big shots missed. Really not sure why McGrattan thinks he won this one hands down either. Maybe he should go back and play in Ottawa with all the fist pumping. Draw! Pay no attention to the fighter claiming victory here guys. Don't let him sway your vote because he throws his hands up in the air. This isn't Boxing or MMA.

Posted by Don Pescado on Dec 20, 2009 at 1:04 AM agree disagree A lot closer than the votes say...what were they watching? Thats what i wonder. Wade landed a big shot after Macs first flurry of rights and that clearly stun Mac and he stop throwing them. Mac landed two good rights at the end. I see this fight is pretty even.

Posted by bigty on December 20, 2009 at 09:58 AM

Closer than people are saying. McGrattan must have forgot how weak his jaw is. Next time he fights any one with punching power he will be looking up at the ceiling from the ice.

A lot closer than the votes say...what were they watching?

Posted by stich on December 20, 2009 at 01:43 AM

When Belak was in Toronto Domi was the premiere enforcer but he has really established himself as a top heavy in Nashville. I am happy for Brian McGrattan that he has found a home in Calgary and is making a strong case for #1 heavy this year

Posted by pepsigenerate on December 19, 2009 at 09:17 PM

McGrattan with the win,but you,s can,t consider him the champ in the national hockey league,,,,tough guys are in,Montreal,St.louis and pittsburgh then minnesota in the heavyweight category.

Posted by QUIGGS22 on December 23, 2009 at 09:36 PM

McGrattan is such a tool but he gets the win .

Posted by shrk33 on December 20, 2009 at 12:27 PM

McGrattan is coming on strong this year after his issues. He takes it to Belak in this fight and not even close.

Posted by kryon24 on December 19, 2009 at 08:21 PM

Grats is coming back in full bashing style since Boogie. 2-0 so far as he handles Wade in this one. Both throwing them but Gratts landed the better shots. Waiting to see him get his crack at Boogie again.

Posted by Riomouse911 on December 21, 2009 at 06:38 PM

McG wins this one, but he's turning into a choad with the celebrations after his fights. Act like you've been there more than once, McG.

Posted by Bad Dawg on December 20, 2009 at 12:08 PM

McGrattan is definately moving up the chain, Belak is definately dropping. No contest here

Posted by Dave Brown HOF on December 24, 2009 at 11:53 AM

Did I miss something here? Was that McGrattan raising his hands in the air like he just won something significant? What a fucking loser. It must be something that happens to you once you put on that ugly Flamers jersey that turns you into such a cheap puke. Next thing you know, you'll be wearing a visor and then not take it off before you fight. Hey Brian, remember(or maybe you don't considering the beating that you took) it was only a couple of weeks ago that Boogaard dropped you like the sack of shit that you've turned out to be and the only arm raising that you were doing then, was to grab onto the officials jersey while he helped you up so that he could lead you to the correct penalty box before you tripped and fell on your face. Belak has never been a showboat and didn't deserve that garbage but karma and payback are a bitch. So I'm sure that you'll get yours. Too bad Boogaard was too classy to not embarrass you even more than what he did with just a couple of punches.

Posted by bruiseyoureye on December 19, 2009 at 11:48 PM

mcgrattan wins.

Posted by The Mob on December 19, 2009 at 10:08 PM

McGrats with the win but I'm not a big fan of the after-the-fight punches and the raising of the arms. That's like painting a bullseye on yourself for fights to come. McGratts may be back on the blow by the look of him. He won't fight for a few games. The knuckles can only take so many blows to the back of the helmet.

Posted by C-7Enforcer on December 20, 2009 at 04:46 PM

Yeah give the decision to McGrattan then give the dumbass the loss for sportsmanship. Why did he raise his hands in the air like that when Colton Orr busted up his face, oh wait because he got tuned. He became a better fighter this year and has had some nice fights but this is exactly the reason why he gets no respect. Win the fight and skate off like a man, like Belak did when TKO'n Brashear. McGrattan has a lot to learn!!!!

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 19, 2009 at 06:39 PM

McGrattan has been much better ever since he got kabonked.

Posted by tyrone on December 20, 2009 at 02:21 AM

WTF is the Nashville bench tapping their sticks on the boards for? Do they hate their own guy Belak, cause they were cheering for the winner Big Mac. What an a$$ kicking by the Mac ster.

Posted by balddyd on December 19, 2009 at 10:15 PM

has belak ever beat mcgrattan?

Posted by brazos on December 21, 2009 at 03:03 PM

I thought Belak would fare better than he did. Decisive win for McGrattan. It had to be "homers" that voted a draw or for Belak.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 20, 2009 at 12:29 AM

W for McGrattan

Posted by Towmater on December 19, 2009 at 10:20 PM

If you voted for Belak, it means you got a hold of the stuff McGratton used to be on. Easy win for big McG!

Posted by followthecode on December 19, 2009 at 07:14 PM

Son, look at me when I'm punching you! Don't like the showboating after, but win McGrattan.

Posted by crosscheck52 on December 20, 2009 at 12:14 PM

This was a close one between two of the current best. McGrattan with the edge.

Posted by shuckthefarks on December 20, 2009 at 08:07 AM

I'll admit McGrattan won but definitely too much showboating. I guess after he got beatdown a few times, he felt the need to celebrate. Beeks will get him next time. Wade didn't celebrate or act like that at all when he handed Brashear a KO. Guess that's what you can expect from a drug addict.

Posted by iamageek on December 19, 2009 at 07:46 PM

I don't know what's happening with Belak this season, I guess Trotz has a tight leash on him and won't let him play enough with the other fighters. McGrattan with the easy (thought showboat-y) win.

Posted by lovejoy on December 21, 2009 at 03:51 AM

McGrattan is a monster. Belak is great fighter but McGrattan simply overpowered him.

Posted by bernie on December 21, 2009 at 06:21 PM

ABOUT TIME THAT I SEE A GOOD FIGHT

Posted by brad houghton on December 21, 2009 at 08:44 AM

win for McGrattan nice to see him active and healthy this year....i am not a fan of the showboating but i get that he was trying to get the fans and his team into it! Belak will be fine this year if he can pick up his work rate a bit....he is coming off one of this best seasons last year and a great run in the past few years.....this season in his 4 fights he has fought McGrattan x 2 and Boggy so it isn't taking the easy path. I will say McGrattan is an exciting fighter he can lose big on occasion and love him or hate him he doesn't cheat the fans

Posted by timmat1 on December 19, 2009 at 09:13 PM

Nice bout for Grats, belak just looks old this year. edge to grats!

Posted by mikebflorida on December 21, 2009 at 10:03 AM

Wow! Mcgrattan did great in that fight. Belak couldn't reach him and couldn't switch to the left. Win McGrattan.

Posted by hkhk on December 20, 2009 at 08:21 PM

mcgrats with a bomb at the end dominates belak,...

Posted by bostonrs555 on December 19, 2009 at 09:57 PM

Man in the boat overboard!!!! Belak gets eaten alive and McGrattan goes up a notch in my book. That puts him at notch 1.....

Posted by moneybags on December 20, 2009 at 02:18 AM

grats dominated

Posted by CairnsIsGod33 on December 20, 2009 at 08:55 AM

Refs stopped it early and thats a good thing for Belak. B. McG would have done more damage. TKO Win McGrattan.

Posted by digitalroc on December 21, 2009 at 12:04 AM

bigtv and pred2win have no clue who won this fight. However, this is a forum so everyone (no matter if they don't know how to judge a fight) is entitled to an opinion. Good comments about McGrattan's offence, he is all offence. Sure he has lost a few, but all good heavyweight fighters lose. Case in point, McGrattan pounded MacIntyre, but lost to Orr, then Orr gets pounded by MacIntyre. McGrattan with a decisive win, not easy, but a clear W.

Posted by nighthawk walt on December 20, 2009 at 11:03 AM

Mcgrattan is just reeling off the victories.Another easy victory for Mcgattan!

MCGRATTEN WITH THE EASY WIN HERE CAN WE JUST STICK TO THE FIGHTS AND FORGET FOR A MOMENT WHICH TEAM WE ROOT FOR .. THIS FIGHT IS NOT CLOSE.... I AM A FAN OF NEITHER TEAM BUT GIVE MCGRATTAN HIS DUES. Belak has a lot of guts and heart and shows it here but was clearly out gunned............this time. DECISIVE WIN MCGRATTEN...............SORRY FLAME HATERS AND HOMERS. P.S HABS FAN

Posted by rowbearprobear on December 21, 2009 at 02:02 PM

Posted by BigFistRocco on December 22, 2009 at 04:12 AM

Nice fight for McGrattan, he needs a few more fights like this to get the nightmare of the Boggie Man out of his head.

Posted by richthepirate on December 21, 2009 at 07:08 AM

Gratts goes 2-0 up easily against Belak this season...... Big Wade doesn't seem to have an answer for McGratton, but fair play to him for trying!

Posted by GCBC00 on December 20, 2009 at 12:04 PM

Belak hung in there well, but McGrattan seemed to use more of the, left jab set up for the big rights. Wouldn't say Belak was damaged by anything, but Gratts seemed to have more control of the fight. SLIGHT EDGE TO MCGRATTAN

Posted by djray5000 on December 20, 2009 at 08:01 AM

McGrattan was just pounding on him. He's the winner.

Posted by dphilip79 on December 20, 2009 at 07:31 PM

Posted by David Gutierrez on December 19, 2009 at 07:48 PM

McGratton got a hold of Belak early and landed more than Belak did the win for McGratton, although I htink Belak is the better fighter

win mcgrattan

Posted by rpw1 on December 19, 2009 at 10:56 PM

Win McGrattan. Why shouldn't he celebrate a win? Goal scorers do it all the time and he did not show any disrespect with what he did.

Posted by bigdude on December 22, 2009 at 07:57 AM

Belak sometimes looks unbeatable, but McGrattan definately has his number. Win for McGrattan

Posted by Formerref on December 20, 2009 at 02:53 PM

Good to see Gratts win one after a couple of good ones from Belak. This was a good fight between 2 very good fighters. I really want to see McGrattan get better and I think he will. To all of you who are doubting Belak, he is still one of the best in the league and has been doing this a long long time.

Posted by Brashearfan on December 21, 2009 at 06:18 AM

McGrattan owned Belak, enough said...

Posted by BattleAxe13 on December 21, 2009 at 01:56 PM

Win Mick. Thats the meanest Leprechaun ive ever seen.

Posted by dorian on December 19, 2009 at 10:20 PM

Good fight from the big men. Only Wade's fourth fight of the season - looks a little off his game. He still gets some good punches in but clearly loses at the end. McGrattan takes control with those two punishing rights just before the linesmen step in. The showboating doensn't bother me; McGrattan just beat one of the best fighters in the league, good for him, he *should* celebrate a bit. Too bad it didn't fire up Calgary any more and Nashville continues their steamroll from the dregs of the league to the top of the West in less than half a season. Btw, I rated both these guys as a 9 "at the time of the fight"

Posted by Davids on December 20, 2009 at 12:13 PM

Somebody on this site asked "Whats wrong with Wade Belak"? Whats wrong with him is that he's been bangin his knuckles since 1992-93 when he broke in with Saskatoon. He has been one of the top warriors in all of Hockey for the past 17 1/2 years. That does take a toll.Find another true enforcer who has lasted as long at the NHL level as Belak has(13 1/2 years at NHL level).I dont consider Brad May to be an enforcer.I think you have to go back to Craig Berube to find a player who stayed in the NHL for that long a time based mainly on his ability to handle the tough stuff.Yeah,McGrattan won the fight, but lost a lot of style points with me with his showboating. That stuff belongs in the WWE,not the NHL.

Posted by throwinhams on December 29, 2009 at 01:43 AM

Two good guys, love em both, edge to McGrattan.

Posted by Togalthorpe on December 19, 2009 at 08:00 PM

NHL enforcer it's so easy a caveman can do it aka McGrattan. God I love this guy all offense no defense. Win Big McGrattan

Posted by frankiesfly on December 20, 2009 at 12:06 AM

That's what you call an old fashioned beat down. Once again easy win for McGrattan. Pred2win. Please close out your account and never come back here again. You're an insult to this site and to everyone else here who knows what a fight is and who wins them. Please go take a long walk off a very short cliff.

Standing 8 count...Belak ate those bombs and was stung.

Posted by acd1 on December 21, 2009 at 02:40 PM

nice scrap

Posted by Pred2Win on December 19, 2009 at 10:03 PM

McGrattan thinks he won, but he only had one punch that landed and that was only when the refs were stepping in. Belak had many more quality shots, and as usual, took the fight.

Posted by champxx on December 20, 2009 at 08:53 AM

easy win for Belak....surprised mcgrattan is still alive after the Colton Orr beating....neil's an idiot

Posted by piney on December 19, 2009 at 08:32 PM

Posted by wetstick on December 19, 2009 at 05:47 PM

belak picked the wrong time to scrap, he was out for a shift right up to this whistle then out comes brian, a win for mcgratton

Posted by Dijo on December 20, 2009 at 12:29 AM

I hate that BS salute to the crowd at the end. McGrattan has never had any class. It's amazing that no one else seems to notice. Everyone is so quick to slam Brashear when he shows disrespect. It's not the first time McGrattan has done it either. That's why it was nice to see him go down to Boogaard and it was nice to see Orr bloody his nose. Careful, Bad karma follows you around.

Posted by Cherndig on December 20, 2009 at 04:22 PM

Holy shit alot of people cry on the site. McG's team was done at the time of the fight, so the showboating was bullshit? Wow pretty sure it fired his team up! Ovie showboats every time that cocky russian nets one, and everyone thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread! This site is called hockeyfights.com not pickouteverythingwrongwiththefightbecausemyfightergothisasskicked.com. P.S. Calgary, what a horrible home game!

Posted by chad420 on December 20, 2009 at 11:03 AM

win gratts

Posted by bigdog2007 on December 20, 2009 at 11:25 AM

Grats surprises me here. Beats Belak, like Carkner owned Orr. Cept Belak's face didn't look like hamburger afterwards....

Good win for McGrattan

Posted by tiburon4 on December 20, 2009 at 02:18 AM

Nothing too special except MCGrattan with the right hand and jabs.

Posted by tomales2 on December 20, 2009 at 09:00 AM

Controlling win for McGrattan but tarnished by the lack of class. Not exactly my favorite guy.

Posted by Rex from MN on December 21, 2009 at 05:41 PM

Belak had no answers for the jersey jab and follow up bombs. Better figure that one out Wade. Win McGratton.

McGrattan dominates.....I am a big Flames fan, and like the way that McGrattan has rejuvinated his career, but please don't start that celebration crap a la domi or carcillo....just skate to the box and sit down....this is what the Flames are all about.

Posted by CubsJunkie on February 08, 2010 at 11:04 PM

Belak got a few good rights, but McGrattan owned him otherwise. Good fight.

Posted by PuckmaninMN on December 20, 2009 at 09:37 AM

Win for McG. Belak isn't the same as last year and that's disappointing. Maybe he can figure out what the problem is and find Barch.

McGrattan rocked Belak

Posted by DrBt on December 20, 2009 at 09:55 PM

this fight was amazing, mgcratts throwing huge bombs into belaks helmet, and then is not even fazed in the 6 or so times he gets hit solid, in the face, doesnt even wince, and continues to go for the KO all fight, props to belak for staying on his feat

Posted by tim daddy on December 20, 2009 at 06:04 PM

good fight between the big dudes, McGratton takes it late

Posted by claire alexande on December 22, 2009 at 02:57 PM

Belal doesn't embarrass himself, but McGrattan delivered a decisive win here. Hope McG doesn't make that showboating at the end a habit--leave that kind of garbage to the canucks and their ilk.

Posted by goon10 on December 20, 2009 at 11:00 AM

Win McGratten, but Belak hung in there. I'd like to take that snapshot of McGratten with his hands in the air and send it as a Christmas card to all the enforcers in the league. For example, "Merry Christmas Mr. Boogaard, I'm ready for my Christmas hug!"
