Crap fight. Draw.

Posted by Stonecosy on January 16, 2010 at 12:25 AM

Anyone who thinks this is a clear win by McGrattan is a dick - Draw, plain and simple. Belak get turned around cause that's what sometimes happens. Good to see McGrattan gettin busy again though.

Posted by GCBC00 on January 16, 2010 at 10:11 AM

Maybe next game we'll see some punches land because this one was a defensive fight for Belak and McGrattan landed nothing worth while. Niether fighter landed any true blows. DRAW

Posted by Truk on January 16, 2010 at 02:14 PM

Called it a draw. Poor fight with Belak not set-up very well. Uncle Paulie: I see your point BUT you need to understand defense (ducking, dodging, blocking)is obviously part of a fight. If a guy fights Jackie Chan and he ducks or dodges all/most of your punches that doesn't make you the clear winner just because you appear to be the aggressor. See NHL10 fighting.

Voting a name just continues here. They landed nothing. Draw.

Posted by crosscheck52 on January 16, 2010 at 07:02 AM

McGratton may have had an "aggressor's edge" in this one, but seriously Belak didn't look defeated or damaged at the end of this. I didn't see this as enough of an edge for McGratton and certainly don't see this as a dominating win.

Posted by sulley71 on January 15, 2010 at 11:49 PM

Draw, no damage either way

Posted by FistofFury on January 16, 2010 at 03:43 AM

Draw. McGratton pulled the chute on this one by pushing Belak to the ice rather than stand and continue throwing

Posted by GongshowTy on January 16, 2010 at 03:25 AM

WOW 80 percent give the edge to McGrattan, go watch the video again, of the 15 punches gratts threw 1 connected to belaks head, the rest hit his shoulder , back and helmet, clearly u have never been in a tilt before....this is a draw at best.....start voting for the fight itself not the names on the back of the jersey......

Posted by CaptainIggy on January 16, 2010 at 07:53 PM

3 fights in last 3 games for McGrattan. 3 wins in 3 nights. His hands must be pretty cut up. That takes guts to fight when your hands hurt like hell. This was not a great fight but none the less Belak did ZERO.

Posted by Leafs2006 on January 16, 2010 at 01:18 PM

Belak been slumping lately, maybe he is dating Carrie Underbite too, like Tony Romo, Mike FisherPrice et all, ah well, Belak will bounce back someday, win McGratton! Woof Woof! Smellin that onions and ketchup kid again...

Posted by Bad Dawg on January 18, 2010 at 09:55 AM

McGrattan definately moving up in the ranks in the last few weeks

Posted by digitalroc on January 16, 2010 at 07:10 PM

I don't see how 5% of the people thought Belak won. Not the best fight, but a win for Grats. Belak was getting thrown around like a rag doll at the beginning of the fight.

Posted by bruins rule on January 16, 2010 at 12:02 AM

mcgrattan gets the edge in this fight.

Posted by Uncle Paulie on January 16, 2010 at 10:34 AM

Morons -- it's not just about "how many land to the face" -- if one guy is dominating the other, so the opponent is essentially ducking and hiding (even if punches are missing) the opponent is still "running" rather than "fighting." So a landed punch count isn't the total factor in deciding a win. Otherwise, the opponent may never latch on and simply drop the gloves and skate around taunting the other while dodging blows. You need to consider domination and control over all, which McGrattan clearly had. Belaks slaps meant nothing. CLEAR WIN FOR McGRATTAN.

Posted by bboyer on January 15, 2010 at 11:49 PM

Clear win McGrattan

Posted by kronvallizer78 on January 18, 2010 at 01:00 PM

belak no match for mcgrattan in this one, easy win for mcgrattan landed more shots. average bout

Posted by Alien18t on January 15, 2010 at 11:44 PM

pretty close but looks like mcgrattan landed a few more though neither looked like there were doing much damage. mcgrats had a bit more control throught the fight then gets the take down to end it. it looks as though they were just going through the motions of a fight without really wanting to.

Edge McGrattan This season he's No.1 .

Posted by blazers76 on January 16, 2010 at 12:58 PM

Win McGrattan. Kind of a crap fight. Belak is back to his old form, not very good this year.

Posted by Behn Wilson on January 18, 2010 at 08:22 AM

You'd figure Belak would have been good and ready, since McGrattan, basically, dropped his gloves during the anthems. McGrattan on control.

Posted by shrk33 on January 16, 2010 at 10:59 PM

McGrattan continues his solid season with a close win over Belak.

Posted by bloodyknuckles2 on January 19, 2010 at 12:52 PM

Belak did not look good. Big Brian having a career year

Posted by rpw1 on January 16, 2010 at 03:30 AM

Win McGrattan

Posted by LicoriceBiscuit on January 16, 2010 at 08:46 PM

Belak lost the handle on the jersey and it was all McGrattan

Posted by hkhk on January 16, 2010 at 12:56 AM

nice heavy battle here was def premeditated though comon fellas skate a little.

Posted by bostonrs555 on January 16, 2010 at 10:39 AM

Slight edge to McGrattan and kudos for a complete F U to the Premeditated Fight Rule!!!! Nice to see real hockey for a change...

Posted by staceyb on January 16, 2010 at 11:52 AM

McGrattan was off to the races--he could have gotten a two minute delay of game penalty.

Posted by tonydomi1 on January 17, 2010 at 10:32 AM

Crap fight. Win McGratts. What the hell happened to Belak. He looked like he was in a bar fight with those ridiculous half-ass rabbit punches to the back of the head. Very disappointing for two guys who are supposed tp be upper tier heavies.

Posted by Towmater on January 16, 2010 at 12:08 AM

Solid win again for McG

Posted by devil_d0gg09 on January 16, 2010 at 01:32 AM

Big Mac with the win

mcgratton seems to have his legs back, edge mcgratton.

Posted by Flameman on January 16, 2010 at 02:16 AM

Is the circus in town? So many clowns voting on this fight, clear win McGrattan although Belak through a few good bombs.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on January 16, 2010 at 12:22 PM

McGrattans an animal. gets the W in a close one

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on January 16, 2010 at 05:21 PM

Slight edge Mcgrattan.

Posted by fernben8 on January 16, 2010 at 12:09 AM

I was hoping Belak would have a better outing than he did last time against McGrattan...he was doing all right till he flinched at the end. Win for Big Mac.

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 12, 2013 at 08:58 PM

McGrattan dropped Belak with ease.

Posted by tyrone on January 17, 2010 at 04:01 PM

Big Mac is back........

Posted by nor.stewart on January 16, 2010 at 06:56 PM

Bring on the Boogeyman, and Colton Orr, payback time for the big mac, fighting better than anybody

Posted by richthepirate on January 18, 2010 at 02:52 PM

Gratts carried on from the last bout between these two....another resounding, rasier than expected victory!

Posted by kurtenbach on January 16, 2010 at 06:37 AM

Belak is game and sometimes those rabbit punches let him set up bigger guys to be dropped (like his TKO over the Boogeyman) .... but not tonight. Victory for Grats.

Posted by cheesecup on January 16, 2010 at 01:20 PM

great fight by two guys who really know how to chuck 'em. i love when these two fight because they have similar styles, but it always seems mcgrattan is just a bit better. one of these days belak will drop mcgrattan but he will have to wait for another chance. winner brian mcgrattan

Posted by phuckyouguys on January 17, 2010 at 02:31 PM

clearly mcgrattan is the better fighter so just the fact he is he gets the win ...who cares how he did .....

Posted by bruiseyoureye on January 16, 2010 at 12:53 AM

if anything.....belak landed the only punch of the fight...i watched it 3 times........i give the win to belak........belak is still a great fighter when he is in the lineup and someone wants to challenge him.........when the only punch lands by belak.....he wins.

Posted by wetstick on January 15, 2010 at 10:23 PM

They must have told McG he could have his Blow after he fights now cause he sure was in a hurry to lose slight edge to Belak for fighting a man who is clearly high on illegal narcotics

Posted by hal29 on January 16, 2010 at 10:37 PM

draw nothing landed by either guy...bad showing from both men..this was boring..how this got a rating over a 5 is beyond me. at best this was a 4

Posted by The Mob on January 15, 2010 at 10:42 PM

McGratts doesn't like getting pounded in the nose because it restricts the amount of blow he can snort after the game. He has no brain to begin with yet continues to snow blind the one or two neurons he has.

Posted by champxx on January 16, 2010 at 08:32 AM

easy win for Belak....the end is near for mcgratten neil's an idiot

Posted by illukka on January 17, 2010 at 04:10 AM

good fight, but cant see this as a win for either

Posted by thebigbea55 on January 16, 2010 at 12:22 AM

belak really sucks this yr.. he was great last yr.. hardly see him lost any..

Posted by Dijo on January 16, 2010 at 06:13 AM

I like Belak but he gets over powered again by McGrattan here. Belak has never been heavy enough.

Posted by Oil Can Henry on January 16, 2010 at 01:33 AM

Not a very good fight - draw,....but, Belak looked a bit over-matched - he was just swingin' blindly, hoping something landed.

Posted by dorian on January 16, 2010 at 09:01 AM

The voting on this site is getting out of control. I'm starting to get the impression there's a bunch of kids on here voting for their favorite players no matter what - and that's OK, it *is* the internet. I'm not complaining, just making an observation. This is a DRAW. (and an "OK fight" at best) More importantly: did anyone notice Nashville just vaulted into third place (by points) in the Western Conference?

Posted by claire alexande on January 16, 2010 at 08:51 PM

Win McGrattan but not by much. Belak really wanted no part of this (can't say I blame him after last time). All the same, McG unable to land much. Much like the game, this fight was pretty boring.

Posted by Cherndig on January 16, 2010 at 11:42 AM

A fights a fight, If you watch boxing or MMA for one round and one guy does nothing but control the fight then he'll get the nod for the judges. That's what BG did. Ya he did dominate with big shots or make Belak bleed but he was the the aggressor for sure. Why even vote if you think it's a draw? If is a true draw then that's not even a fight! Just my opinion. Rarely do I vote on something that's a draw to me not even a fight. Love the jumpin the gun by Gratts, no one saw that comin'

2 and 0 this year against Belak!!!! After such an impressive ending last year by Belak he sure hasn't done much this year!!!! Riminder----Big decisive wins against Jannsen and Brash!!!!

Posted by BoogeyRocks on January 18, 2010 at 02:42 PM

McGrattan gets the nod. He landed a few shots and was the aggressor in this one.

Posted by J.R. Abel on January 20, 2010 at 07:41 PM

Belak did not look particularly good here. Win McGratts.

Posted by chad420 on January 17, 2010 at 06:21 PM

win gratts

Posted by tomales2 on January 16, 2010 at 01:13 AM

Same old story. It's all about his reach and strength. Win McGrattan
