' McC's punches did not connect. The last one got the helmet. Don't listen to the announcers, they are homers. Draw '

McCormick and Commodore swappin' blows for a little, McCormick got the one hit that mattered. Win Cod-eh!

hit man from behind ,get ass-kicked...very simple

Posted by hockey450 on December 05, 2010 at 06:42 PM

Cody all the way.

Posted by slapshot2626 on December 04, 2010 at 08:17 AM

well worth the PIMs after what Commodore did to Kaleta.

Posted by bruins rule on December 03, 2010 at 10:52 PM

cody gets the win in this fight.

Posted by Jellyczar on December 04, 2010 at 03:35 PM

McCormick wins.... Kaleta leaves his feet on a check before he gets boarded.... too many visors on the Sabres

Shawn Thornton is going Beat McCormicks ass on the 7th

Posted by phatcat on December 05, 2010 at 07:40 AM

Good thing commodore still had his helmet on,nice shot.

Posted by Big_Goon on December 04, 2010 at 08:51 AM

The last shot looked to hit Commodore on the ear so I doubt it was a TKO. Clear win McCormick.

Posted by scorp1on on December 06, 2010 at 06:10 AM

Of course McCormick gets the win but I think this fight was more even than most are saying. McCormick was chucking the bombs but largely missing while Commodore was jabbing away with more effect. But then (oops) Commodore loses his grip while jabbing and he's wide open. He notices his prediciment and starts to turn away from the incoming but that only makes the connection look more dramatic than it really was when it finally did hit as he was nowhere close to being balanced. Knockdown not TKO

Posted by Juha82 on December 04, 2010 at 02:27 AM

McCormick controlled the bout by his strong shots and looked like he TKO'd Commo not sure. But anyway CLEAR WIN McCormick. Spirited tilt but not a good fight either.

Posted by b.t.wilson on December 03, 2010 at 10:37 PM

mccormick definitely takes this one but i don't think commodore was feeling too run over by the end of it. in the box he was looking like he was thinking about what shoes to wear after the game.

Posted by DARCY T on December 07, 2010 at 04:45 AM

wow,is it cody beating commodore.mccormick looks strong it this bout....7

Posted by staceyb on December 04, 2010 at 06:09 AM

This one launched a series of fights in the third period. McCormick got even with Commy in retaliation for the five minute board hit on Kaleta.

Rob Ray - learn which Cody is on your team. I know it's tough when two gusy named Cody Mc- are in the same league, but McLeod plays for Colorado and McCormick plays for Buffalo.

Posted by pinney29 on December 04, 2010 at 12:30 AM

Cody McCormick, I love this guy! win for Mccormick, a great performer for buffalo this season!

Posted by kaboom29 on December 04, 2010 at 01:37 AM

Commodore better look out for an angry McCormick next time he decides to throw a cheap shot... Cody beat him down. W McCormick with ease

Posted by Detroit_Caps on December 04, 2010 at 09:18 AM

Damn. . .

Posted by hal29 on December 04, 2010 at 02:50 PM

I give it to McCormick but I must say a bigger deal was made out of that punch that knocked down Commodore. If you watch the punch actually hit the helmet and seemed it was more of the force of the punch then it was hitting cleanly, this is the reason why I rated this fight a 5. It was an impressive punch but a dominate victory none the less. I wouldn't call it a tko as the punch didn't hit cleanly and neither were wrose for where. They both got up and went their way. The punch hit the top of the helmet actually.

Kd wins for cormy

Posted by slavv on December 04, 2010 at 02:34 PM

Typical cheap shit from Commodore. Nice to see him get his ass handed to him when it's straight up one-on-one...

Posted by kronvallizer78 on December 05, 2010 at 04:23 AM

Mc with the obvious win here

Posted by Walt on December 04, 2010 at 01:55 PM

Looks like a fun, old school game. Obviously win McCormick.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 03, 2010 at 11:59 PM

McCormick channels Jerry Korab, and lays a thumping on a disinterested Commodore. .

Posted by BigRob1 on December 03, 2010 at 10:54 PM

Damn it! Can you say A$$ kickin 101?!?

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 04, 2010 at 07:32 PM

damn. id say McCormick avenged the hit by Commie.

Posted by fernben8 on December 04, 2010 at 01:16 AM

Great powerful rights by McCormick... McCormick shows good team leadership and appropriate payback for the hit..even if it was Kaleta. Now..that's hockey !

Posted by bluesrule on December 04, 2010 at 12:19 PM

commadore gtes beat up not suprising he can onley hang with certain heavyweights in 06 janssen even beat him so hes lost his touch over the year

Posted by rule46 on December 04, 2010 at 03:36 PM

McCormick sends a little message to the jackets with a nice old-school throw-down. He's going to get waxed if he fights anyone decent in the way he fought Commodore, but its fun to watch at least.

Posted by rocky 1 on December 04, 2010 at 06:40 PM

TKO what else is there to say win Cody!

Posted by sedinfan on December 04, 2010 at 03:51 PM

Nice job by McCormick. Big Mike looked like he would be better off singing with the Commodores.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on December 04, 2010 at 12:57 PM

Nice to see a fight with punches thrown instead of circling, armlock, wrestling takedowns, or 6'6" giants holding off smaller fights with straight arms. I rated it higher than others might because it is what fighting in hockey is intended to be. Player calling out another for questionable play, both answered bell.

Posted by StoneTheWeak on December 04, 2010 at 03:10 AM

McCormick with the W. SABRESHATRED is a tool. Stop commenting, you look like an idiot.

Posted by tm57 on December 12, 2010 at 03:04 PM

McCormick was a great pick up for the sabes... he gives 110% every single night, has some offensive skills and throws bombs like a friggin champ Win Cody

Posted by glovedropper08 on December 04, 2010 at 01:41 AM

McCormick jacked him...huge punch at the end.. TKO? not sure, but wow. McCormick is the man!

Posted by jnk07899 on December 04, 2010 at 02:08 PM

Buffalo starting to drop the gloves again! Way to go boys!

Posted by Double Nickels on December 03, 2010 at 11:58 PM

McCormick was going KO the whole way.

Posted by Ukeholderlin on December 04, 2010 at 03:44 PM

Pretty decisive for Cody. He must have a broken hand after this one.

Posted by slshbleed on December 04, 2010 at 12:45 PM

In this fight and the Kaleta fight, they weren't worried about getting a grip, sweater punching and trying to time a punch while avoiding getting hit like a lot of hockey fights these days. Both were fights were just reckless enough to be effective. If more people fought like this and took a few chances, there would be a lot better fights.

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on December 03, 2010 at 10:37 PM

hell ya McCormick! I am liking this guy. Win Cody

Posted by briaro2050 on December 04, 2010 at 08:28 PM

That was an arse kicking

Posted by dorian on December 04, 2010 at 12:05 PM

lol @ b.t.wilson. I was thinking the same thing before reading that post. I'm sad to say that, after watching hockey for 20 years, I've grown bored with fighting. Non-fans will ask me, "why are they allowed to fight in hockey?" and my reply is usually, "because it's self-policing; it deters cheap play" but hmm...I simply don't believe that anymore. It obviously doesn't. Not to mention the fights between the actual "tough guys" like Boogaard, etc. Who cares? They're just wasting a roster spot for someone who can actually skate. Remember when Carolina won the Cup with a no-fighting policy?

Posted by piney on December 09, 2010 at 09:11 AM

cody wins a 3

Posted by CirclesAroundU on December 04, 2010 at 01:20 PM

The Commodore hit was NOT a cheap shot. Kaleta had just done a 180 turn, and Commodore made a clear effort to let up on the hit instead of plowing into him. Love the rough stuff though.

Posted by Tony Esposito on December 04, 2010 at 01:19 AM

Broken hand for Cody I bet.

Posted by BritishRedWing on December 04, 2010 at 03:25 PM

Win McCormick. Where do the Sabres get off going after Commodore for his hit on Kaleta? Patrick Kaleta? The same cheap shot artist? Feck off, the hit wasn't even that bad. Let's see the Sabres try this shite w/Philly, Boston, Toronto or even the Rangers.

Posted by illukka on December 04, 2010 at 02:54 AM

mccormick all the way

Posted by Redzilla on December 04, 2010 at 07:44 AM

I did not realize Commodore was still playing in the league and I don't think he realized it either.

Posted by chad420 on December 04, 2010 at 11:39 AM

upset beatdown win for Cody Mac...MC taking his opponent lightly

Posted by DocGomer on December 03, 2010 at 11:14 PM

keep asking myself after watching some of these fights, why cant people vote for the WINNER OF THE FIGHT, not the one they wish won the fight. I vote against my favorite teams player if they get beat in a close fight, this wasnt even remotely close.....homers...

Posted by hok1n on December 03, 2010 at 10:48 PM

Very easy win for McCormick. Run people from behind, get a beat down. Its fair if nothing else. For a guy who was on the ice when E. Cole got his neck broke from the same kind of hit. It was a very classles hit from behind.

Posted by mike hartman on December 06, 2010 at 01:13 PM

Commodore had that coming.

Posted by Snoka on December 04, 2010 at 12:18 PM
