Not a domination, but a win for Scott.

Posted by Lord Korrondo on December 14, 2010 at 02:29 PM

Scott gets the refs to save him in the Jansen fight and now he pulls koci's sweater over his head to get out of another fight? he knows as soon as he pulls koci's sweater over his head the linesman are going to step in so why would he do it unless he wanted out of this fight? if he was beating koci so easily then why did he pull the sweater over the head. idiots will say that it was so that he could hit koci while he couldn't see but anybody who has seen any hockey fights knows that the linesmen step in right away as soon as the sweater gets pulled over the head. scott is a pussy that smiles and tries to act tough when the fights go his way and runs to the refs when they don't.

Posted by paddyd on December 14, 2010 at 03:45 PM

An ever so slight edge to Scott. Koci did well. For Scott's size he should be beating down everyone in the league.

Posted by Bigford83 on December 13, 2010 at 11:59 PM

Solid draw. Good showing by (a presumably rusty) Koci against the big man in Chicago.

Posted by Juicys1 on December 14, 2010 at 01:32 AM

draw,slight edge scott

Posted by brad houghton on December 13, 2010 at 11:38 PM

nice bout for Koci given the trend of both fighters this year i would call it a draw

Posted by flyerguy on December 15, 2010 at 08:58 AM

DRAW!!! Scott pulls the jersey over his head because he was tiring and Koci was coming on.

Posted by JJ33 on December 14, 2010 at 12:30 AM

Koci did pretty well..but still win Scott.

Posted by oldtichasprague on December 14, 2010 at 01:35 AM

Good scrap, not clear advantage - draw.

Posted by BigRob1 on December 14, 2010 at 02:49 PM

I don't see a clear winner. I give it a draw. Scott threw more to start, but not much landed. Still waiting to see what he will do against a true heavy weight. And not one that just came off a broken jaw.

Posted by rocky 1 on December 14, 2010 at 11:40 PM

Having watched this one several times i give it a clear DRAW Folks. Both guys throwing and not that much landing.Scott does not win this folks. How many times is he going to pull the jersey over head and continue to throw!Dirty dirty dirty!

Posted by bluesrule on December 14, 2010 at 05:39 PM

HOW DO YOU GIVE IT TO SCOTT I CALL DRAW he puts the jersey over his head because he was starting to slowly loose hockeyfights, com has alot of john scott lovers beacuse this was a clear draw noteven close to a win for scott koci landed the same amount of punches on scott as scott did on koci

Posted by pepsigenerate on December 14, 2010 at 07:51 PM

koci with the more active swings that looked good,as for scott, expected more from a big guy who was only throwing normal swings that anyone can do....winner koci.

Posted by mactee on December 15, 2010 at 12:18 PM

nice

Posted by Stevens Lindros on December 13, 2010 at 11:57 PM

Koci and Scott will probably read some of these comments a lot of the fighter in the league spend time here, I say narrow win John Scott but Koci did well against a man who has never lost a fight at the NHL level. The Hawks and Avs face each other again next game so maybe a rematch is in order?

Posted by veela on December 14, 2010 at 07:15 AM

Dave is my favourite fighter, although he hadnĀ“t had a great fight in a long time. Decent job in first fight back.

Posted by Big_Goon on December 17, 2010 at 09:01 AM

Edge Scott. Koci was not THUNDERSTRUCK!!!

Posted by petiepab1 on December 14, 2010 at 10:24 AM

I can appreciate all those who step up against Scott, but I am getting tired of watching his fights. Its always the same. Looks like the 8th grade bully putting his hand on the forehead of the 4th grader and locking his arm out; the 4th grader doesn't have a chance of even touching him. When you see his name in the fight headline, 98% of the time you know its going to be a lopsided beatdown. Like a heavyweight fighting a lightweight; not much fun to watch.

Posted by wannago on December 13, 2010 at 11:51 PM

Koochie needs to go back to roller hockey... pathetic

Posted by darkknight9 on December 13, 2010 at 11:45 PM

Scott seems to land more punches

Posted by DARCY T on December 21, 2010 at 05:39 AM

i dont know. i give the slightest edge to scott.good come back from injury for koci.gave it 5

Posted by aaronious on December 14, 2010 at 09:45 PM

Whoever called this a draw is on crack. Koci didn't land anything worth a turd.

Posted by Riomouse911 on December 14, 2010 at 12:37 AM

JS out reached, out hit, and out pointed DK in that one. DK gave it a try, but even he couldn't reach Scott's chin when Scott got his arm locked out.

Posted by Bad Dawg on December 14, 2010 at 08:54 AM

No contest, Scott the win, Koci was punching air, what's he even doing in the league?! Like to see Boogie when he is healthy fight Scott

Posted by brazos on December 14, 2010 at 05:14 PM

Time for Koci to hang up the skates. He is always willing but takes far too much punishment.

Posted by bostonrs555 on December 14, 2010 at 01:02 AM

Scott's reach is ridiculous!!!! So is that hard cement block head of Koci's!!!!! Edge to Scott, but remember boys.... Janssen tamed that beast! Scott QUIT!!!!!!!!!!! Good to see Scott playing wing!!! Give that man a set of goalie pads!!!!!!!!!

Posted by ghjkfdhgfd on March 31, 2011 at 05:50 AM

Scott

Posted by Bullybeatdown on December 15, 2010 at 01:42 AM

Win Scotty.

Posted by Aussie Muzz on December 14, 2010 at 05:40 AM

I'll vote Scott. More punches, stronger showing and stopped at the end when he was jerseyed.

Posted by BigTwolve on December 14, 2010 at 10:44 AM

2 Big Boys trading haymakers! Only a few may have connected but God help the man when one of them does.

Posted by tombeerguy on December 13, 2010 at 11:56 PM

really versa? Koci kicks butt?

Posted by greenbean316 on December 15, 2010 at 09:01 AM

Win Scott. Love that he wears THE REAPER'S 32. We'll see if he can skate in Grimson's boots. Props for Koci having a better showing then Westgarth did

Posted by MeLikeSemenko on December 14, 2010 at 01:30 PM

When the announcer said Scott had won all his fights this year it raised a question for me. As I look back in his fight log...fans on this site have voted him the winner in EVERY one of his fights in the NHL. He now really needs to step up to his weight class. HEY SCOTT, QUIT PADDING THE RECORD. TIME TO FIGHT THE BIG BOYS.

Posted by lovejoy on December 14, 2010 at 04:30 AM

Wib Scott but good job by Koci as well. Welcome back, David.

Posted by Behn Wilson on December 14, 2010 at 12:34 AM

Good ''comeback'' showing by Koci; but Scott was looking very ''Stu Grimson-esque'' right from the start. Predictably he won... but I expected more devastation. That closing grin seemed to pi$$ Koci right off though.

Posted by LA KING FANATIC on December 14, 2010 at 07:26 PM

Scott pounded him, kudos to Koci for going after the behemoth Scott, trust me...Scott will get his handed to him eventually. I heard the same invincible talk about Boogard...They all fall eventually but he is definitely a big guy who can throw

Posted by Brian Fantana on December 15, 2010 at 10:55 AM

Koci is always game, but Scott is a dominating force this season. I also very much appreciate the throwback shoulder pads Scott seems to wear. He looks like a hockey player, not a linebacker.

Posted by jjhawksjj on December 16, 2010 at 07:22 AM

Why do the refs step in when a guys jersey starts coming over his head. Back in the day, getting a guys jersey positioned where he couldn't see was part of the strategy in serving up a beating. Now, if a guys jersey starts coming over his head the refs run in like they need to save the person from being afraid of the dark. Win Scott.

Posted by YCCKK on December 14, 2010 at 09:41 PM

hood-winked.....scott with the win.

Posted by scorp1on on December 14, 2010 at 02:41 PM

Not as dominant as it sounded. Sure Scott wins on points but the announcers babbling about the right knocking off the helmet when it was clearly jiggered free by the left forearm might lead some less observant to think Scott was laying down a beating. Yes Koci was getting tagged more than he was tagging but wasn't any worse for the wear after the premature sweater ending.

Posted by tattooedkingpin on December 15, 2010 at 11:17 AM

that was somewhere in between a Draw and a slight edge Scott

Posted by staceyb on December 14, 2010 at 06:45 AM

No, that wasn't a draw. Scott was leading the hit parade on Koci's noggin. More distressing for the Hawks, however, was the 7-5 loss. Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook were both -4. That will not get you back into the Stanley Cup finals.

Posted by hal29 on December 17, 2010 at 06:52 PM

I give the win to Scott but that was a real pu$$y move by pulling the jersey over when he already clearly had the fight.

Posted by bruins rule on December 14, 2010 at 08:53 PM

scott gets the win in this fight.

Posted by bunkerman on December 16, 2010 at 12:13 AM

Scott showing he's for real what a big bastard. Guys need to go watch Chris Nilan fights on tape before fighting Scott. They have to get inside tie him up and throw crosses and upper cuts.

Posted by fernben8 on December 14, 2010 at 11:09 AM

Scott gets off to a quick start with half a dozen to Koci's helmet... Koci did well but edge to Scott for connecting a little more. Don't get this pulling the jersey over the head business... Is it within the Code or Not ? Unless it happens accidentally (not the case here) , I find it Cheap !

Posted by sedinfan on December 13, 2010 at 11:55 PM

Scott with the easy win, not sure what you Koci voters were looking at. I think Koci must have got his votes from his mother, father, pet dog and psychiatrist. I want to see two of either Scott, Boogaard and McIntyre go at it. Seeing the 6 foot 8 belugas would be interesting as it gets tiring watching everyone else try to reach them.

Posted by Teeth Flying on December 14, 2010 at 12:26 AM

Koci is lucky his jersey got pulled up which was white flag for the linesmen to jump in and save his glass jaw. Win for Scott but Koci did well standing uo with Big Foot in Avalanche land. Tune in on Wednesday for Round Two? All I want for Christmas...

Posted by saapgh on December 29, 2010 at 12:53 AM

Scott clowned him....

Posted by rustman27 on December 14, 2010 at 12:11 AM

why does Koci continue to fight he always has some part of his face broken (his nose last year / jaw this year) he's not a good fighter for a big guy and he can't play. I don't know how anyone can say he won this fight, with his jersey over his head and eating a bunch of right hands

Posted by Tbama on December 15, 2010 at 12:34 AM

Scott landed, Koci missed. Win Scott.

Posted by CamRussell on December 15, 2010 at 03:07 PM

Scott wins, but doesn't dominate. Three points, however: (1) those are Chicago announcers; (2) Grimson's number was 23; and (3) This website seems to have somewhere between a 2% and 3.5% population (aka 12 year olds), who just love to vote for the loser, I imagine out of some sense of understanding and sympathy.

Posted by slshbleed on December 14, 2010 at 12:08 AM

Koci did better than anyone else this year against Scott. Scott still wins.

Posted by The DZA on December 14, 2010 at 12:50 AM

Scott looked like he wanted to get a hotel room with that linesman. Zebra lovin is hot.

Posted by njteech on December 15, 2010 at 06:41 AM

No draw here...Scott an easy winner

Posted by jezus on December 14, 2010 at 01:14 PM

Big John still undefeated. All the John Scott haters say he needed to fight a legit heavy...id consider Koci legit although a touch rusty probly. In regards to that though John can only fight the opposing teams "best" fighter and cant just go to Boogies house and fight him to please his critics. Winner Scott and a 7

Posted by dromano13 on December 14, 2010 at 03:48 PM

Wow! Scott toyed with him. Very impressive!

Posted by tyrone on December 14, 2010 at 12:36 AM

BJS all the way. He is the best in the NHL. He would kill sloppy, clumsy, turtle slow Booger.

Posted by kingster on December 14, 2010 at 12:13 AM

good fight noone got hurt scott with the win everyone here knows versa doesny know shit about hockey. hes a blues homer

Posted by omorales on December 14, 2010 at 12:41 PM

Koci didn't get killed, that's a "moral" win, no brain damage either.. I wanna watch Scott fight the Boogeyman

Posted by Jellyczar on December 14, 2010 at 09:24 PM

Scott was more active and landed more punch's....win Scott

Posted by b.t.wilson on December 14, 2010 at 12:03 AM

scott wins the battle of the behemoths. 7. ah yes, versa, the tired old game of such hockeyfights legends as predglen, broken leg or whatever its name was, and who was the other one... outrageously witty declaring the loser a winner. i'd rate you a 9, your biting commentary and clever humour a 10. sooo oolllddd yyaawwwnnnn...

Posted by tonydomi1 on December 18, 2010 at 10:03 AM

Did that announcer say "call it a DRAW"??? What f**ken fight was he watching??? Clear win by Scott in this tilt. Scott is a beast! Would love to see him and the Boogeyman square off....

Posted by slavv on December 14, 2010 at 02:26 PM

Great exchange till the jersey blinded Koci. Scott with the edge...

Posted by mctuttle on December 13, 2010 at 11:52 PM

Scott got legit head shots in to start the first 10 secs of the fight. After that, the two equally exchanged glances and jabs of no considerable magnitude.

Posted by Clifford1364 on December 14, 2010 at 01:30 AM

Scott gets the win, as much as I hate to say it.

Posted by 1fatchub on December 18, 2010 at 12:41 PM

Why do so many fighters act like they only have one hand? If Koci would have used his FREE left hand he coulda pulled off a win but nooooo....Scott's a good fighter for sure

Posted by mrwienerdog on December 13, 2010 at 11:38 PM

Thought Koci stood up pretty well, but big John is finally starting to ascend the ranks....... He's coming. I thought he looked incredibly solid in this one, as all of them this season.

Posted by puckmuncher on December 14, 2010 at 03:07 AM

*oh jeez* Draw??? Koci wins??? Did any of you people even watch the fight??? Scott took him.....very obviously.

Posted by Langway on December 15, 2010 at 04:09 PM

Scott roughed him up from the get go.

Posted by man_named_dave on December 19, 2010 at 01:32 PM

Good chin from Koci.

Posted by Les_Habitants on December 14, 2010 at 08:53 AM

Ze big man he very strong I think

Posted by pvdrummer2000 on February 04, 2013 at 12:59 AM

I think Scott fights better against the bigger guys. He seems to take it easy on the little fellas. No such luck for Koci, he took some hard headshots. Nice fight.

Posted by oltimehockey on December 14, 2010 at 05:50 AM

Its not considered a draw when you get the BEJEZZUS knocked out of you, land two short punches, get a broken face, or get saved by the zebras with your shirt over your head. Other than that, the AV's can really call a good bout LOL. Clear victory for Scott.

Posted by Formerref on December 19, 2010 at 09:04 AM

Great tilt!! Love this Scott, one of the top guys in the league!!

Posted by teejay on December 14, 2010 at 07:16 PM

A draw??? WTF fight was this announcer and fellow homers watching??? JS throws half a dozen to start, rags DK a bit, lands a few beauts then jerseys him. Had this fight gone any longer, Koci would have had JS's knuckles imprinted on his face. Landslide for Johnny!!!!

Posted by BIG AL SECORD on December 14, 2010 at 09:51 AM

Clear win for Scott...it is funny that people are commending KOCI on his effort. He stands there and takes the punishment!!! HE IS AN ENFORCER...HE FAILED MISERABLY!!! THIS IS HIS JOB!!! When you play 3 games a year and 6 minutes all season you have got to come with a better effort than this.

Posted by Spinner55 on December 14, 2010 at 11:09 AM

John Scott will possibly be crowned the NHL Knuckles Champ if a Derek Boogard fight ever comes about. I am sure that the Boogie-man will avoid this confrontation at all costs.

Posted by JuddWudd on December 14, 2010 at 08:22 AM

Great Scott!

Posted by sulley71 on December 13, 2010 at 11:54 PM

Win for Scott, he landed way more! versa time for an eye exam!

Posted by billgoldberg14 on December 14, 2010 at 09:21 AM

Good work by both fighters. Win goes to Scott

Posted by The IRISH Mick on December 14, 2010 at 10:56 AM

Scott got the win, but to bad The Hawks could not hold on for the Win..

Posted by FHgrad99 on December 14, 2010 at 02:01 AM

I think Scott wins this one. Scott got the better shots early in the fight, the middle third of the fight was pretty even and then Scott got a couple of better shots in late and the W in my book. It was a pretty good fight. Both guys landed some quality shots but Scott had more of them.

Posted by Bluetiedown44 on December 15, 2010 at 11:41 PM

Scott handles Koci well, no shame for Koci on his return. Scott has become a skilled fighter. His size is now coupled with some skills. Did not like the jersey over the head, lack of respect for a guy.

Posted by dapwas20 on December 14, 2010 at 01:25 PM

Scott beat Koci better this time around than in the first time they fought when Scott was in Minnesota. The sad part is that the chicago announcer Konroid/konroy called it a draw, obviously reminiscing Koci's days in Chicago. Oh, I forgot according to some, Scott has never fought a heavyweight, how about now? Because he's new to the league we should see more and be able to make an accurate assessment by years end, if Quenneville will play him.

Posted by tim horton 416 on December 14, 2010 at 12:47 PM

Big John and Koci have fought before with a win to Big john. I give this win to Big John as well. I have alot of respect for Bem Wilson"s comments. To compare Big John to Grimson. Me being a big Hawk fan I like that. But John has better balance than Stu did. Thats a fact. Another win for Big John !!!!

Posted by cigaros on December 15, 2010 at 07:58 PM

Anytime an AV gets beat up, it's a good day.

Posted by EDDUBBS on December 14, 2010 at 01:16 PM

Koci is a gamer and Scott is just too much for him. The idiot announcer is just that-an idiot!

Posted by HaWKeYToWNusa on December 14, 2010 at 07:20 PM

What is this, john scott needs to fight in his own weight class bull sh!t? Last I checked 6 8 and 6 6 aren't that far off. Also there aren't a whole lot of people in his "class" I keep hearing this Boogieman sh!t. Hawks play NY once maybe twice a year, and I'm sure Boogieman might turn into Boogie-b!tch when that happens. Another thing, I don't see him trapping these players into fighting him, he's not a bully just picking on people. Give it a rest and enjoy the show you idiots!

Posted by ThrowdownSJ408 on December 14, 2010 at 04:43 PM

blah W scott.

Posted by Bosoxshute on December 14, 2010 at 12:06 AM

Gotta give the win to Scott, but give Koci a lot of credit for taking on John Scott in his first fight after getting his face broken.

Posted by redwingsman on December 14, 2010 at 10:11 AM

thats was a great fight and I thought it was hilarious that scott was laughing after he pulled kocis jersey over his head

Posted by Ssz1086 on December 13, 2010 at 11:51 PM

Close one, looks like Scott takes it.. Versa, you're an idiot.

Posted by wrburket on December 14, 2010 at 11:51 AM

Um. . How does the announcer call this a draw? Scott. . unloaded. Props to Koci though. . took it like a champ and got a gooood amount of shot's in as well. Edge Scott.

Posted by coroner78 on December 14, 2010 at 03:30 AM

fuck you fags! it was a draw! Koci got plenty of puches in.Dumb shits!

Posted by LordKOTL on December 16, 2010 at 02:58 PM

An OK tilt. Scott with the win no question but wasn't anything close to his domination of Westgarth.

Posted by piney on December 14, 2010 at 09:36 AM

scott wins a 5 and its not close

Posted by chad420 on December 20, 2010 at 11:28 AM

Posted by tomales2 on December 14, 2010 at 11:07 PM

Scott has yet to really impress though many will find that an irritating comment-like I give a damn. Not the "whupping" I was led to believe.

Posted by Big_Fat_Dan on December 14, 2010 at 01:32 AM

Gonna give it to BIG John, both exchanging shots but John had the better of them and bossed it really. Good to see Koci back as his a entertaining fighter. Scott continues to step up.

Posted by Tony Esposito on December 14, 2010 at 12:25 AM

"You almost have to call it a draw"??? uh I don't think so Mr. Avalanche announcer. Scott remains undefeated with a decisive win.

Posted by rocky7482 on December 14, 2010 at 11:32 AM

Good fight. Clear win by Scott. It was nice to finally see Scott take a couple fists. I haven't seen anyone connect up until now.

Posted by jnickle on December 14, 2010 at 03:20 PM

Scott seemed to control the fight and landed most of hit punches square to Koci's head. Koci threw a lot of punches in return, but didn't land many of them. Win Scott.
